HT3819 Syncing between different ID's??

My husband, daughter, and I all have different Apple ID's (3 iPods, 2 iPads, 1 iPhone, and our Home iMac between all of us) but I'm wondering if we can all share music and apps between all of our devices if we sync them all to our home iMac??

Yes.
Plug them in and sync them.

  • Sync between different computers

    Question:
I sync my devices (iphone, ipod, ipad2) on my MacPro at home, no problem. When traveling I may need to sync one on them with my laptop. Maybe a new app, new music, pdf files, etc.
What I'd like to know is the best to keep the two iTunes libraries in sync so I don't risk losing anything by syncing between two different computers.
    Any help appreciated.
    John

you can use home sharing to keep the two libraries in sync. however, the future probably looks like this.
by design, iPhone and iPad can sync with only one library at a time.
however, you could consider Managing content manually on iPhone, iPad, and iPod.

  • Custom Table Entry not in Sync between Different Environment

    Hi All,
we have different environment like Dev System, Quality system, performance testing system etc... these are all environment customs table entry not in syn .. Table entry should be syn. How to make it syn all the entry between all environment without do any manual work. Kindly help on this.
    Thanks

    Hello Mohammed,
It depends on what type of tables you are referring to. If you have a table of type 'Customizing', you have to transport your table entries across different environments and they will be in Sync.
If you are referring to tables of type 'Master Data', they have to be maintained in all environments.
Table of type 'Transaction Data' by default have different records based on your day to day transactions.
You cannot have all custom tables with same data in all environments. Hope this helps.

  • Calendar sync between different users?

Can two different iPhone users synchronize their Calendars the same way that, say, one user can sync his Calendar between his iPhone and Mac?

Using Google Calendars, you can share and wirelessly sync several calendars between several iPhone users.
Each person can amend the calendar(s) and will be sync'ed automatically each time the calendar is viewed

  • Stop Find/Replace syncing between different apps

    Hi all,
I was wondering if there was any way to stop the Find/Replace function in some apps from syncing their search terms between each other.
    My problem:
= Lets say I have Pages and TextEdit open and search for "tree" in Pages.
= When I go over to TextEdit and do a command+F, the search window will automatically have the word "tree" populated in the search term field.
= When I search for "shrub" in TextEdit and go back to Pages, the search term field in Pages gets filled in with "shrub" even though I still wanted to continue my search on "tree."
So far I've seen this happen between any combination of Pages, TextEdit, Numbers, and Safari. Is there any way that I can stop these apps from syncing their search terms between each other?
Thank you very much in advance.
    Hipsig

It behave the same in 10.4.11.
The Search / Replace dialog used by every app is based on a tool delivered by Apple in the resources which apps may use so, an entry made in the dialog of apply A appear in the dialog of appli B. It may appear in more.
    Look at these screenshots.
The first three share the same string to search.
They are from apps designed as word processor.
The two other share an other value.
They are from apps designed for developers.
It show us that there are two sets of tools used for the Search / Replace feature, both of them sharing datas between the applications.
Maybe this feature may be used for interesting things.
In the operating system, we have only one clipboard but thanks to the described feature, we may pass three strings between two operations with a single switch task.
    It suffice
    to fill the Search field,
    to fill the Replace field
    to fill the clipboard
    from the source document.
    Then in the target document,
paste the clipboard in the target doc,
grab the content of the Replace field an paste it in the target doc
grab the content of the Search field and paste in the target document.
So, what you describes as anannoying feature which end users like me and you can't change, may be described as an interesting and useful feature.
Just a matter of point of view (or of philosophy : I see the positive side, you see the negative one).

  • Effects of Syncing Between Different Macs?

    Hi.
    <background>
My iPhone is currently sync'd to an iBook (500 MHz, dual USB) at my house - Mail, Safari, iCal, Address Book, the works. That iBook only has 1GB remaining on the hard drive which results in an iTunes Library consisting of only 1 album. Thus, my iPhone only has that lone album sync'd... which is pretty lame (ordering a MacBook "soon").
My Mac Pro at work has an iTunes Library of ~60GB of music that I would rather sync some of those Playlists to my iPhone. Also note: being a large corporation, that same Mac Pro can not access my Mail account (blocked). Which leads to my question...
    </background>
If I (re)sync my iPhone to my work Mac, selecting certain Playlists only and NOT selecting to (re)sync anything else (Mail, Safari, iCal, Address Book, etc.), will the phone retain my current Mail, iCal, Address Book, etc. info I'm currently using on the phone (preferred result) or will that info be wiped clean, leaving new music but no data for the other features (not preferred at all)?
    Thanks,
    Scott
    iPhone 8GB   Mac OS X (10.4.10)

    Update.
I successfully synced Playlists form my work iTunes account without effecting any of my other data (contacts, iCal, etc.).

  • Mail tags don´t sync between different macs

Hi, Im running mail 5.1 and I use color tags to mark mails. I have 3 Macs and the colors tags dont sync, they sync always put all tags in red. Its like old version, tag mail sync ok, but no color. Can some help me? Thank you

Unfortunately RSS feeds do not synchronize. Hopefully Apple will add this in the future. It seems as though this would be fairly simple to include so I'm optimistic that it will eventually show up. Hopefully sooner rather than later!

  • Can I backup two devices (with different documents) to one iCloud account?  For example: iPad and iPhone, not everything is synced between the two, but I would like to backup each (seperately in the cloud), is this possible?

    Hello Apple Community,
Can I backup two devices (with different documents) to one iCloud account?
For example: iPad Air and iPhone 5, not everything is synced between the two, but I would like to backup each (seperately in the cloud).  Is this possible?
This way when I change from an old ipad to a new, I can restore with the ipad backup, and when I change from an old iphone to a new, I can restore from the
    iphone backup.
    Thank you in advance!

Terminology check here. Do you really mean a "CD"?  There's a difference in Cloud behavior between content from a physical CD you ripped (which only has Cloud content if you have iTunes Match) and an "album" you bought from the iTunes Store.
    Read references for Home Sharing.
iTunes: How to share music and video - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2688 - about Music Sharing and Home Sharing
Home Sharing Support page - http://www.apple.com/support/homesharing/
iOS: Setting up Home Sharing on your device - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4557 - "With Home Sharing in iOS 4.3 or later, you can stream your entire iTunes library over your home Wi-Fi network from your Mac or PC right to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch."
The above can get pretty complicated.  You are probably best off by syncing both devices to a single library and/or updating the libraries on both computers to have the same content.

  • HT3819 Home Share between different apple accounts?

We have one computer, iPads, and iPhones some with separate accounts. How might you go about home sharing between, say an iPad and computer? And it isn't clear if you can home share between different accounts.

Continuity only works with devices signed into the same iCloud account.  It won't work across different accounts.  There's more information on this here: Connect your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch using Continuity.

  • HT3819 How do I share music between different users on the same computer?

I understand Home Sharing helps me share music across different computers.  How do I share between different users on the same computer?  We have a few instances of iTunes on a single computer and have to download from the same CD each time.  I must be doing something wrong - seems crazy to have several copies of the same song on one hard-drive when Home Share allows for sharing across computers - how do I share within the same computer?  Please outline specific steps.  THANKS.

  • I have activated 2 iPhones using my iTunes account, but I now would like to take one iPhone off this account, and start its own iTunes "pairing" in order to back up, without cross syncing between purchases, how can I do this?

I have activated 2 iPhones using ONE iTunes account, but I would now like to remove one iPhone from the account and add it to a new iTunes account. This is so that I can back it up without cross syncing between purchases/apps on both iPhones.
Whats the best method for this?
    I'm running Windows 7
    Many thanks

Whenever a menu choice is grayed out, that is because you have Restrictions turned on in Settings.  Be sure to turn it off.
You are confusing an itunes store account with an icloud account.  You two can continue using the same ID for itunes (thus sharing purchased music, apps, etc.), but you really should have separate accounts (different IDs) for icloud, since an account is intended for one user to keep his/her devices in sync.
To create a new icloud account, go to
    http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/
Then go to Settings>icloud and scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap Delete Account.  (have restrictions turned off)  That will disconnect the device from the account but will not delete data in icloud or other devices.  Then sign in using the new ID.
