HT3820 Quicktime Pro Invalid registration message

I purchased Quicktime Pro 7 upgrade (Mac OS 10.6.8 Snow Leopard)  I'm entering my name and product Registration Code EXACTLY as I received it in my e-mail.  I then hit TAB as instructed.  It still comes up with "Invalid Registration"
I've also used copy & paste from my registration email to make sure I am entering the information correctly.

Are you sure you purchased a key for Mac and not for Windows? QT keys are not cross-platform.

  • Can't register upgraded Quicktime Pro (invalid registration) Now what?

Just upgraded to Quicktime pro. I'm running the current Quicktime 7 Player. Followed instructions, went to system preferences, opened Quicktime registration, filled out info, then entered number given to me by Apple for Quicktime Pro. Then I opened Quicktime, and then INVALID REGISTRATION came up in the registration icon. Tried it four times. Even copied the registration # from Apple receipt but still the same message: INVALID REGISTRATION.
    Can anyone help???

I purchased QT Pro today but got the "invalid registration"message when I tried to register it. Copied the key exactly as written. Tried several times with no luck. I have Quicktime 7.7 and Mac OS-X 10.5.8.

The Name field must also match the same as the email confirmation.

  • Every time I enter registration information, I get "invalid registration" message

Every time I enter registration information to upgrade to QuickTime Pro 7, I get "invalid registration" message

The prefered method is to copy  the registered to and registration code details from the email Apple sent you, into the appropriate boxes of the Quicktime registration pane.

  • HT3820 Quicktime pro install unsuccessful

Bought Quicktime Pro. Registered...  hit (secret) tab key. Logo changed to Pro. BUT I do not see the "Pro" logo in About QuickTime Player. AND I do not have QuickTime Pro available as far as I can see.

The registration info merely "unlocks" the Pro features found in QuickTime Player 7.
In all my years of using it I've never had to restart to use the Pro features.

  • I have entered my quicktime pro 7 registration key and it won't unlock features

    Hi All,
I'm running Mac OSX 10.8.5, and have recently downloaded Quicktime 7 Pro. I've purchased the registration key for $30, and when I entered it into my Quicktime Pro registration, it accepted the code, but all of my Quicktime Pro features are still locked. Any input?

Did you have a file loaded when you attempted to access a "Pro" feature? (I.e., the QT 7 Pro menus are context adaptive and must be able to "see" the file you want to edit before it can evaluate which features can be used with the file in question.)

  • HT3820 QuickTime Pro Paid for, registered. Won't open.

I've paid for and downloaded Quicktime Pro. Entered the registration code...and nothing happens. I still just have Quicktime 7. How do I get Pro to start running?

Open QuickTime Player 7 (Utilities folder) and then open the About QuickTime Player 7 window.
Is the word Pro shown on the blue Q icon?

  • Re-installing QuickTime Pro, invalid code?

    Hi all,
Recently my computer crashed and I lost QT Pro. I re-installed QT7 and have still got the email with the registration code for Pro. But when I enter that through the QT control pannel it says my code is invalid? It's an old order (2010), but shouldn't the code still work? After all, I did buy it and now it's gone? Thanks very much for any help!

Yes the QT 7 key should be good since 2005. Did you enter/copy both the key AND the name (to include any salutation/suffix like Mr., Dr., Jr., etc.) as used in your account name/confirmation message. Both are significant and must be entered exactly as given for the purchased platform type.

  • Quicktime pro registration refuses to stick

I originally bought my license 07/10/05 for quicktime 7 pro. I used the pro features for more than a year, at one point or another, after a few updates, I noticed that I no longer had the pro features enabled.
The first thing I tried of course was to reenter my info in the register box. That always provides the exactly same results. It accepts my name and key, shows the line Quicktime 7 Pro. I hit apply and exit out. Then try and access the menu, the Pro functions are still unavailable. The registration box is empty again.
I have taken every imaginable variation on registering, rebooting, completely removing the application then reinstalling.
Nothing works. It still exhibits the same behavior.
I can't even find any support available for qt pro. Is that it?

I have more or less the same problem.
I just bought Pro, entered the registratiocode, but Quicktime ays: Invalid Registration.
    No matter what I try...

  • I used to have registration for quicktime pro.  Do I still need to upgrade quicktime?

Is quicktime pro a free download now, or would my quicktime pro old registration be valid and necessary?

Your 'old' registration would need to be for version 7.

  • Completely uninstall Quicktime Pro 7 for Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit

I am trying to uninstall my Quicktime Pro 7 registration, and to not ever see it again in control panel (classic view).
Unfortunately, there is a visible registrationcode shown for Quicktime Pro 7(somehow, it simply detected that I had Final Cut Pro installed at one point and automatically registered).
I cannot figure out how delete Quicktime Pro, via the control panel and registry, and make it go away. Please advise.

thanks ... I see now from your other post that you're probably getting either a "missing QuickTime.msi" message or being told that a "newer version of QuickTime" is installed when you try to go ahead and uninstall QuickTime after you're told about the Key?
Unfortunately, these sorts of msi-related troubles have gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any QuickTime entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try installing iTunes again. Does the install go through properly this time?
(If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.)

  • How do I open Quicktime Pro

I have had Quicktime pro since buying FCP3. I have installed the registration key, and when I close it out, I can open the registration section and the key is still there. I once read thats all I have to do. However, I have not been able to open Quicktime pro, I can't even find an icon for it. I have since upgraded to FCPHD, and installed the registration code for that. I soon will be getting FCP5 Studio and would like to be able to access Quicktime Pro for that. I had purchased a quicktime pro 7 registration key when I upgraded to QT7
    Thanks for any help!

Some of the older "free" registrations only work with QuickTime 6 and you'll need to purchase a version 7 key it if its is installed on your computer.
You can review your Software Download History by logging in at the Apple Store.
There is no QuickTime "pro" application. Once you enter a valid registration for your currently installed version The QuickTime Player app becomes your editor.

  • HT3820 Entering a QuickTime Pro registration key in Mac OS X 10.8.2

    How to find
Entering a QuickTime Pro registration key in Mac OS X for 10.8.2 to register Quicktime. I've BOUGHT it and can't register? It doesn't show a Quicktime in system preference?

Apple are very lazy in giving instructions and it came with OS X v10.6 and OS X v10.5, nothing for OS X v10.7 or OS X v10.8? I've OS X v10.8.2...I'm baffled. I don't need a mind game. I just want a job done.
The instructions found at URL http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3678 are up-to-date since they refer to QT 7 v7.6.6 which is compatible with all versions of the Mac OS X v10.6.3 and later—including Lion and Mountain Lion.
