HT3910 Install disc pops out when computer restarts???

Trying to wipe out hard drive and Install disk keeps popping out on restart. Software is now Mavericks, but it was Snow Leopard (I think) before.
Also I am using a Logitech wireless keyboard and alt/c key will work when holding down on restart.
HELP!!

Are you sure it is 10.6?
Retail discs of:
10.6 will only boot Macs older than August 28, 2009.
10.6.3 will only boot Macs older than March 29, 2010.
System specific discs will only boot the Mac model in question that they shipped with it, and not any other age of Mac.
Macs newer than July 20, 2011 will only boot off 10.7 or later, except when their hardware didn't change until a later date.  In those cases system specific discs may be available from AppleCare to boot them into 10.6.
Why are you erasing 10.9?
Why can't you possibly use 10.6 Server in this configuration to resolve your difficulties:
https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-2295#ROSETTALION
And if they aren't with compatibility, what makes you think running 10.6 will be better?

  • HT5163 sim doesnt pop out when i use the paperclip for my iphone5

My SIM card won't pop out when I use the paper clip, not sure what to do. I cant get it to respond to itunes, it said could not detect device.   I have a "locked SIM" on top of phone. Yes it was a crazy weekend.  (but fun)

It is a bit of an angle to eject it and you have to push hard. If your weekend included immersing your iPhone in liquid it could be even a bit harder.

  • Finder window keeps popping out when booting up the computer

Lately I've noticed whenever I shut down the computer with the "Reopen windows when logging back in" uncheck, this Finder window will pop out the next time I startup the computer. Still new to Apple and am not sure any settings that I may have set before this.
I just want a clear desktop when I boot up the computer and not greeted by this system Finder window.

Finder does not obey the rules of the 'Reopen windows' dialogue box. It will reopen any Finder window that was not closed when you shutdown. This was also true in Snow Leopard and isn't part of the 'Resume' feature itself.
The only way to not see that window when you restart is to close it before you shutdown!

  • How can I prevent CD popping out when installing Leopard?

I'm trying to install Leopard on my G3 iBook, which has been in the closet since March 2007. It starts up OK and desktop aps work. When I try to install the CD for Leopard it pops out. Before I put it away I wiped the hard drive clean and reinstalled system software plus extra aps like Photoshop. I can't get the CD to stay in the slot.
What can I do to keep the CD in so I can install Leopard?

The Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) disc is a DVD.
Leopard is incompatible with a G3 processor.

  • When i try to install the latest java, my computer restarts.

I was using Limewire until my computer began restarting. I decided to do a virus and a spyware scan but neither work. I then uninstalled Java because thats what Limewire uses. I then downloaded the latest Java, double-clicked it, and it began installing but before it finishes installing, my computer restarts each time. When i check to see if it is installed, only a directory is in the add remove programs list but Java isnt installed. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME OUT.

I did another investigation on my computer. I turned offf my automatic system restart to see what error is causing my comp to restart and then i tried installing (jre-1_5_0_02-windows-i586-p). My computer went to a blue screen that said BAD_POOL_ERROR and I was forced to restart the computer myself this time. After i restarted, i uninstalled whatever was left of (jre-1_5_0_02-windows-i586-p), restarted my computer again, then this time i decided to install (j2re-1_4_2_06-windows-i586-p-iftw). The Java 1.4 seems to work on my computer but it still asks me to update and when i do, i get the same problem all over again. My network card drivers are up to date, my router drivers are up to date, and i also did a thorough check for both viruses and spyware using Bullet Proof Soft spyware adware remover, Norton antivirus, and Avast! antivirus, but i still can't pinpoint why i can't install the latest java. I searched the net for some answers and it also seems that I'm not the only one with this problem. From what it seems, no one has figured this out yet.

  • I download and install Firefox 4, but when I restart my computer, it reverts to v. 3.5 something. How do I make the new version stick?

Firefox kept trying to update v. 3.5.?.?, usually failing. So, I went to the website, then downloaded and installed v. 4. But, when I restart my computer, it reverts back to the old version, loses bookmarks added while using v. 4, and again tries to update v. 3.5. When I look in the folder which contains Firefox, "properties" says I have v. 4, even though what is appearing is not.

  • Tiger Installation - 2nd Disc Pops Out Of Drive

    Hi everyone,
I'm reinstalling Tiger on my iMac. I inserted "Install Disc 1", opened the install bundle on the desktop, restarted when I was asked to and chose the option "Erase and Install" in the installer menu. Everything ran smoothly and the 1st disc was popped out. I was prompted to install "Install Disc 2" but every time I insert it my iMac just spits it back out. I've tried about 10 times just to make sure.
Does anybody know how I can fix this, if at all? ....or is it safe to shut down the iMac, restart, hold "C" and try to reinstall again even though it is only half way through an installation now?
I've been looking around the forums for similar problems but I can't seem to find a solution. I appreciate any help that the community can give me

From what has been said on this forum in the past some Tiger discs were prone to this issue. You can try contacting Apple about getting a replacement disc. In the short term you can instead do a custom installation, omitting a lot of the extra applications and perhaps some fonts and language support. The installer will then not ask for disc 2. Many of the applications have newer versions you can download directly.
I don't know that you have any options at this point other than to stop the installation - either that or leave your computer in limbo for a week until you can get a replacement disc. It may be that you'll be left without a working OS and will have to do the custom installation I mentioned.

  • I have an OS install disc stuck in a computer that won't start. How do I eject

ACcidentally put an apparently incompatible OS install disc in my PPC iMac, now I can't get past a grey screen full of panic information and a message telling me to restart. How can I get around this to eject the disc do the computer can start as normal? Running OS 10.4 currently

Worse case scenario, unplug the computer while holding down the mouse button, the disc will eject.

  • Hide Excel from popping out when creating slide in PowerPoint

Hi, l have an application that will generate PowerPoint and create some chart within the PowerPoint.
i've been using Interop.Powerpoint.Slide.Shapes.AddChart() to create chart in PowerPoint. The momment this function is called, an Excel window will pop out for us to fill in the data. Is there any way to tell Excel window open
in minimize mode/behind other application instead of popping out and became the active window? Even if I doChart.ChartData.Workbook.Application.Visible = false, Excel window still shows up a little while. Some of the device the Excel
window will automatically open behind other application but some don't.

I guess open excel first in background won't work. When we call AddChart() method, an Excel will be pop out for us to fill in the data. By the way, the Excel will be close after a chart is created successfully and another new Excel Window will pop out again
if we call AddChart() method again.

  • Keep database shut when computer restart

    hi
I want to keep oracle database shutdown when my computer restarts, I mean i want to start oracle manually when I need it, other wise not,
its not about how to shutdown the database, its about keeping database shutdown every time computer restart,
if any body could reply it would be very nice of you
    best regards
    Asif

If you don't want to do it with the service(s), you can also do it this way:
    Open regedit and go here:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/ORACLE/<your oracle installation home name>
Then set the following key as shown:
    ORA_<your SID>_AUTOSTART = FALSE
This way, the service is running but not the instance, and you can just use sqlplus to start it (a la *nix).

  • Disc pops out

My iMac 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo (OSX 10.68.8 is getting kind of old and has begun popping out DVDs  after attemping to read and load them.  I assume this means it's going to need to be replaced soon, but I don't know, because some discs it seems to read just fine; in fact, it may be the newer ones that it doesn't have trouble with.
This behavior has been increasing.  By the way, I tried upgrading to Mountain Lion, and I didn't like it; it didn't change this behavior anyway, and I've just downgraded to Snow Leopard as above.  I can't see that either OS changes this at all, which could indicate it's just the drive getting old.  However, any suggestions would be suggested.

That would be the obvious solution, but it doesn't seem to make a difference.  Also, I note that the last couple of discs I burned....didn't.  Burn, that is.  I suspect I need a new disc drive.  However, I notice many other people here have had the same problem, so that's curious......

  • How to get rid of the properties tab popping out when I create a new shape?

Hi! I am having a bit of trouble getting rid of the properties tab that pops out everytime I create a new shape in Photoshop CC.
Are there some settings to stop this from happening? I have my space strictly organized, as most of you probably, and I need to close it each time I create new shape... so it's frustrating.
    Thank you!

After you draw out a shape, then go to the Properties panel fly-out menu and uncheck Show on Shape Creation
