I have PSE11 and the latest Camera Raw files (v. 7.30) and still I can't open RAW/NEF files. The DNG Converter doesn't convert either.
What have I missed?

Perhaps you are using Nikon Transfer v 1.x, which corrupts raw files of the newest Nikon cameras as far as Adobe software is concerned. You need to either not use Nikon Transfer at all or use V2.x that is part of ViewNX2.
A way to test whether it is your Adobe software or your camera’s files that are the problem, is to download a test D600 NEF from the internet and if it works, then it’s your camera’s images or the transfer to your computer, not Adobe software.

Can I open Nikon D600 Camera RAW files in Photoshop CS5 Extended?

We've got CS5.5 and a new D600. The NEF (RAW) files will not display. I've downloaded the DNG converter (7.2) as a workaround but it's not great. Spoke with Apple and they say I'll have to upgrade to CS6, which in turn will mean upgrading the OS on this Mac which will in turn require a new computer. All this to get a version of the ACR Plugin that works. OUTRAGEOUS!!

Sorry, but the D600 is not supported by Photoshop CS5.1, support for it was only added in CS6 with ACR 7.2. What kind of computer do you have?
If you (understandibly) don't want to get a new computer, it might make sense to use Lightroom to do your RAW editing, and then open them in Photoshop if you so need.

You simply run the updater. if there is a newer version, it will be installed. Other than that 4.2 is the latest release version, 4.3 is currently in the final testing stages and can be downloaded from the Adobe Labs pages.

Nikon D600 NEF/RAW files/DNG 8.4 still cannot read

Hi all, I just tried installing several versions of the DNG plug in for CS6 and it still cannot read the Nikon D600 NEF/RAW files on a 2014 MacBook Pro. Any suggestions? I have searched previous questions, but cannot find one on this very topic. Cheers, Paul.

What version of Photoshop do you have installed. If you have CS6 make sure you use CS6 menu Help>Updates. To make sure you have the latest updates. If you have CS6 preternatural you should see version 13.0.6 when you use menu Help>About Photoshop if you hace a Creative cloud subscription you should see version 13.1.2 using menu Help>About Photoshop.
If ACR 8.6 is installed correctly it installs in a common place that is used by both Bridge CS6 and Photoshop CS6.
When you open a RAW file in Phoroshop or in ACR from the Bridge the ACR dialog should open and in its title bar you should see version 8.6. You should not need to create DNG RAW file for your NEF RAW files just to used ACR. You only need to do that if your using an older Photoshop version and an older ACR. version that does not support your Nikon Camera NEF RAW format.
If you have CS6 and the ACR title bar does not show 8.6 you do not have all the CS6 updates installed. Which operating system are you running on?
What makes you think that the raw files are being opened as JPGs?
Do you shoot RAW+JPG and opening the JPG files bt mistake?
If you are opening a RAW (NEF) file and it doesn't show the Camera Raw screen but goes straight into the editor then it may be that your screen resolution is too low.
What is your screen resolution?

New Nikon Df camera RAW files not recognized in Bridge and Photoshop. Is there a fix? Surely Adobe make a mistake and not keep up with Nikon.

I can not get my new Nikon D 810 raw file to load into Lightroom. I have been doing this same thing for over a year using a Nikon D800.

when I go to add my raw files like I always have it said that it can not read these raw files. I called Nikon an was told that the raw files in the D810 are the same as the D800. Something is up.

The raw files are not the same as the D810 has a different sensor than the D800. The file layout might be the same but that doesn't mean any software that supports the D800 will support the D810. Adobe has to profile the new camera and add calibration profiles and then release an update to Lightroom. ACR 8.6 RC supports the D810, so LR 5.6 will probably support the D810 too. How do I get photos taken on my IPhone (meaning my photos from my camera roll), onto my ITunes account. I already have my photos saved on my computer, but when I try to sync the photos onto my ITunes account, the photos only get added back to my IPhone and no photos are in my ITunes.

Photos are not stored in iTunes.
Photos available on your computer, which can be transferred from your computer to your iPhone via the iTunes sync process, are not stored in iTunes, but iTunes can handle this transfer process.
Photos captured by your iPhone are just like photos captured by any digital camera. These photos must be imported or transferred from your iPhone to your computer in the same or similar way as photos are imported from any digital camera to your computer - which is not done with iTunes.

I resently downloaded Light Room 5.3 for try after joining Webinar.I want to open Raw file of my DSLR D600 of Nikon .But Light Room do not identified Raw file,tells me Light Room is not identifying the files,please update software from help,I try to update then dilog comes your software is up to date.Then I downloaded Adobe Raw DNG Converter 7.3 and try to convert Raw file but not identified.

Lightroom 5.3 should be able to open D600 RAW photos.
The problem is most likely that you used some version of Nikon software to transfer the photos to your computer. This interferes with Lightroom's ability to read the files. If the files are still on your camera card, use Lightroom to directly access them from the camera card. HT1751 I've read at least ten articles and I still have some unanswered questions. 1. How do you get several libraries on an external disk back into one spot on Itunes? Will it take up space on the Mac osx that I have very little space on?

I have several itunes libraries after moving them and losing them, and recreating new ones. How do I get them all back together? I have a Macboook Pro OSX 10.6. My newest library is currently being directed to an external drive. I have files that I moved around improperly and don't know where they all go now. I'm pretty good with it all if someone can explain. Nothing I've read explains how to find your lost libraries on an external drive and put them into one place.
If you have it on an external drive and do not have the space on the hard drive can you still do the library/organize/consolidate feature and have files available without the external drive attatched? I just don't know how I will get all the files into itunes without taking up a bunch of space.

I'm confused as to why you would need or even want multiple iTunes libraries... but that's not really relevant.
It certainly is possible to have the iTunes library reside entirely on an external drive.
The organize/consolidate feature will work with an external drive but the drive must be connected. How would you expect this to work without the drive connected? iTunes cannot magically move files to consolodate them on a drive that's not connected.
I"m not really certain what you mean by "get them all back together". iTunes libraries are not "together". If you've got multiple libraries they are seperate...there is simply no other way to make that happen.
Realistically, if this hasn't helped, it's going to be up to you to explain why you have/need multiple iTunes libaries so that we can offer specific details on how to resolve the issue and possibly a better solution.

Raw + JPEG : How do you view only the Camera Raw?

Hi there,
Here's my problem.... I started importing many of my pictures (shot Camera Raw + JPEG) using the import window. Using the import window caused both the Camera Raw and the Jpeg to appear side by side in any album. Later on, I accidentally discovered that if I dragged a folder with the Raw + JPEG files into the aperture library, the Jpegs would be hidden from site. However, they would appear when I used the "export masters" command, which is exactly what I want (to see one image, but have the Jpegs hidden). I don't want to confuse and clutter things by having side by side duplicate photos in my albums. Is there any way to go back and retroactively make it so that only the camera raw pictures are displayed in a case of Raw +Jpeg? I don't want to erase the original Jpegs created by the camera either. There must be a way to do this.
Any help here would be appreciated. Thanks.

If you don't mind using Automater Actions, the following link will allow you to separate your .jpeg from your RAW files. I have not personally used/tested it because Aperture does not currently support the Nikon D80 RAW files yet. However, when they do, I will certainly give it a try. I hope this helps! Don

How do you size and minimize camera raw window?

Whenever I open Camera Raw it opens maximized in my screen and I can't move or re-size it. I have three monitors and the primary monitor, where camera raw opens, isn't what I consider photo quality (It doesn't have true black), and thus I want to move camera raw to a monitor that is photo quality. How can I do that? (other than changing which monitor is primary)

CS5 tells me I do not need an update, I checked and I am running version 6 something. However lightroom is bugging me everytime I transfer a raw file to Photoshop that I do not have the latest raw and so may not open.

"Render using Lightroom" is the only way to edit in older versions of PS from Lightroom without corrupting Lightroom edits. You can't update ACR in older versions of PS - Adobe abandons support of products the very second it introduces a successor product.
The only problem with "Render using Lightroom" is that it creates a tif before running Photoshop, rather than only when you save in Photoshop, which means Photoshop is slightly slower to open (and leaves you with a tif you don't need if you don't save in Photoshop).
Of course, Adobe's answer to your problem is to subscribe to Photoshop CC...
Simon, CS6 ACR is upgradeable for new cameras so saying Adobe abandons support is not accurate just your perception. No one is forcing anyone to buy anything new just like you can run your car for as long as you like without being required to update..
Quite right, I was rather glib there. However CS6 is the only superceded version of Photoshop that still has any support AFAIK. And CS6 is still available for purchase, if you look hard, so arguably it's not quite superceded.
I think my general point is right, though. By comparison, Microsoft provide maintenance support for old versions of software often years after they are superceded. This is not just operating systems: superceded versions of Microsoft Office get maintenance upgrades for years after they are superceded. Adobe provide no support of superceded versions of software with the exception of CS6. Lack of new camera support in ACR for older versions of Photoshop has long been a grumble of photographers.
Personally I would regard 5 years support as reasonable, which would mean that CS5 should get new camera support until 2015. (And I don't regard use of the DNG convertor as adequate new camera support.)

going crazy trying to figure out how to reopen the Camera Raw dialog box after closing it in photoshop. I know I found it once but have since forgetten. Any help would be much appreciated!

When the image is open in ACR hold down the SHIFT key and you'll see the button marked Open Image changes to Open Object, so do your ACR adjustments then hold down shift and click Open Object - your image will open as a Smart Object in Photoshop.
If using Lightroom you can right click the image and select Edit>Open as Smart Object in Photoshop from the drop-down menu.
Do not confuse normal smart objects with what we're talking about here, Camera RAW Smart Objects - possibly one of the most powerful tools to have at your dispossal, once you understand them.
