hello im having issues downloading movies i had bought before, in the download section the movie is there to download but when i clickit an error msg said download error tap to retry i do and unable to download movie pops up the pad has enough space not sure why is doing it pls need help fixing it on the ipad 2

The issue is an issue only for some older movies.
"iTunes 10.4 or later on OS X Lion opens by default in 64-bit mode. However, some older media files in your iTunes library may still rely on QuickTime to play, and QuickTime only runs in 32-bit mode. Bizzare hard drive issue when downloading movie

I have a 2008 mac pro with three hard drives (a OSX disk, storage disc, and time machine backup), the other day I attempted to rent captain america from itunes, and was told that the download failed because the disc was inaccessable (or similar message). Sure enough even though the disc showed up in the desktop, and the folders would appear, they were all empty, and no music would play in itunes. When I attempted to use disk utility, verification confirmed that it required repairs, but repair crashes saying the disc cannot be unmounted. However, if I start up the computer, and do not open itunes, or open itunes and do NOT allow the movie to start downloading, all the music plays, I can access the images, ect. on the hard drive, and the disk utility says the disc is normal. The moment I allow the movie to download, it again crashes, and the disk utility again says the disc needs to be repaired but cannot do it. I am at a total loss as to what it going on or what to do?

You must remove Norton Utilities and never run it again on OSX. It can cause various problems, does not support 10.3.x (or possibly even 10.2.x), and Symantec has dropped Norton Utilities for Mac. Go to Symantec's website and find the uninstaller for Norton Utilities...you want to get all parts.
I am not sure if there are issues with some antivirus utilities. Which one is installed and is it up-to-date?
One cause for erroneous HD capacities is a damaged HD directory. Boot to your 10.3 CD and run Disk Utility's First Aid; if errors are found, run it again. If Disk Utility cannot fix the problem, you will need a more robust utility like Alsoft's DiskWarrior, probably the best there is for repairing HD directories.
After checking the HD directory and if no problems are found, take a look at the size of all the files on the HD:

Issues with downloading movies. Help please!

I downloaded a movie onto my computer. Then I downloaded it onto my iPad because it was the same Apple account as my PC. I stopped it half way through, realising how much space it was going to take up. I started off with around 4 GB free space on my iPad and now I only have 1.2GB. I don't have the movie on my ipad, it even says 'No Data' in my usage for Videos. So why is my iPad so low on memory when I cancelled the movie?

Movies need twice as much space to download. 4GB movie, needs 8 GB iPad space.

I'm having issues downloading movies to my ipod account. The message reads "This computer is already associated with an apple id" It says then has an error code "err = 3050" any idea what this means? I just entered these movie redemtion codes on this computer a few days ago as well as older movie purchaces i have made'

Apple TV Gen 2 downloading movies issue?

Hi,
I was given the new apple tv gen2 for my bday in January, after seeing my brother's apple tv gen1. Unfortunately, I have found it is nothing like the gen1, and am thoroughly disappointed. I have unusually long download times (once was 1200mins!!!) though it has gotten better and is only about 1-2hrs now. But I have now encountered another problem.. I keep getting an error message, when I try to download movies, or watch stuff on youtube. "! An error occurred downloading this content" "please try again later". And it keeps saying it. I have tryed re-setting it, I have also tried unplugging it, and replugging it in. I don't know what it could be! I haven't rented the movie through itunes on my computer, it is simply through the apple tv.
Can anyone help me, or shed a bit of light on the situation please?
I'm beginning to think that this is the worst/crappiest bday present I've ever received!!!!

Whenever you download something from the iTunes Store or Youtube, you are downloading it from something called a "Content Distribution Network". Basically, it means you get top download speeds no matter where in the world you are. What you need to check:
Your download speed. If you have a speeds >6MBps (mega-bits per second), then you should download content relatively quickly.
Your DNS settings by going Settings > General > Network. Make sure that DNS do not read 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4

Safari can't download file when trying to download movies

Safari responds with "safari can't download file' when I use download app to download movies . I don't have issues downloading apps or searching net. Would be grateful for assistance.

You can't download something from Safari to your iPad. iPad is a closed system, and not subject to virus intrusion. Now, if for example you have a Kindle app and you go directly to Kindle in Safari and using your ID you buy a book, the book will download to your Kindle account, which you could then open your kindle App on your iPad and read the book you downloaded in your App. But you can't go into Safari and just download a book or a movie directly to your iPad from the net........

Problems downloading movies since upgrading to mavericks

Ever since upgrading to mavericks when it was first released, I have had nothing but problems downloading movies in iTunes. What normally would take no more than 30 minutes to download a movie and iTunes extras has now turned into waiting more than 3 hours with no less than 4 error messages saying iTunes cannot download the movie and I have to relaunch iTunes or reboot my entire system. It is getting quite annoying and I can't seem to find a solution.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I upgraded to Mavericks on two computers and have display problems too! I have CC on one Macbook Pro (2011) and CS6 on another (2012) and I'm now almost positive my display problems are triggered by InDesign. I don't have to be doing anything special, and I don't have to be working in InDesign at the time, but InDesign has to be open and I get things like this:
Once it turns magenta or green, that's when I have to boot the system. I can still work with the glitchy display before it turns colors and if I'm still able to quit InDesign while it's glitching, the display goes back to normal. Same on both computers and the 2011 one has a new logic board in it.
At first I thought it had something to do with connecting my hard drive or my external display, but the display issues happened with both computers with nothing hooked up. Those are ruled out now. I took my 2012 computer to Apple and they told me it was a software issue and all my hardware is ok. Obviously they didn't fix the software issue because it's still happening.
This is not normal and needs to be fixed soon!

Cannot play any downloaded movies on Apple TV

I have a downloaded movie in my iTunes library, and Home Sharing is enabled both on my Apple TV and on my iTunes. The same thing always happens when I try to play the movie. The play bar will appear, showing the correct time, but the spiral loading icon will keep spinning forever while never loading the movie. The exact same thing happens when I try to airplay a video I shot on my iPhone.
I never get this problem when airplaying YouTube, HBO Go, or Netflix. What is causing this problem with local videos, and how do I fix it?

1. Do you have by any chance your iTunes Library stored on an external drive?
2. Does Apple TV plays your movie after you have once restarted your iTunes?
As of today my only option is after a fresh download to restart iTunes and it works again.
Currently investigation and once found out I will post it here.
It is really anoying.

it seems Apple is aware of this connectivity issues and offers what I am doin anyway. When it comes to connection problem restart everything (seems that is a more easy solution for them instead of fixing it)

8008 Error when trying to download movies from iTunes

I've searched Google and the discussion boards but no one seems to have a fix for the 8008 error when trying to download movies in iTunes. I have the latest version of iTunes, my Mac Mini is up to date with all of it's patches, I've tried deleting the movie in the download folder and redownload the movie but I still get nothing. Does anyone have any suggestions for a fix?

These alerts occur due to timeouts or conflicts trying to write a file during download.
If you encounter this issue while while downloading something from the iTunes Store:
Delete your iTunes Downloads folder, located in:
Mac OS X:  ~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Downloads Note: "iTunes Media" may appear as "iTunes Music. Also, the tilde (~) refers to your Home directory.
After locating your iTunes Downloads folder:
Quit iTunes.
Delete the Downloads folder on your computer.
Open iTunes.
Choose Store > Check for Available Downloads.
Enter your account name and password.

Problems with downloading movies after upgrade to iOS 7

I can't download the movie via WiFi to my iPad3. WiFi broad band 20 Mbps
iOS 7.1.1, free memory 9.6 GB. Downloading keeps failing after reaching 3-4 GB loaded. Sometimes displaying an error "the item can't be downloaded this time". It has never be a case with iOS 6. Very frustrating.

Same problem for me after the update. No matter what movie I try to download, it stalls halfway. Interestingly, could be a wider iTunes issue as I ended up with the same problem trying to download movies to my MacBook Air.

Playing downloaded movies

Ive downloaded movies from itunes to my ipod. For some reason the movie plays fine from itunes, but from my ipod only the audio will play and just the caption of the movie is pictured. Any ideas?

This kind of issue could be caused by several different factors.
First off, it might have something to do with you being on Windows 98? One of the system requirements for Fifth Generation iPods is that you need to be running either Windows 2000, or Windows CP (or perhaps Vista, although that's not fully compatible with iPods at this time).
These five iPod troubleshooting steps are a good place to start as a general with syncing problems, or the sort:

Also, a few more details about your problem might help. For example, is your iPod even being recognized in iTunes, or are you getting some sort of error message? If so, please quote exactly what it says.
Or, is iTunes acting in some other kind of strange way, like, it says it has synced with your iPod, while it has not?
