Well, first things first... is the power cord fully plugged into the back of the iMac (and the wall, for that matter)?
Make sure the wall outlet has power, too... I've scratched my head over stupid issues where I forgot to flip a wall switch.
If the outlet does have power, then try doing a pram zap. Command + option + P + R (hold those at startup).
If the machine is receiving power, you should be able to see some LEDs if you look through the bottom grate of the machine to the left of the RAM door.

There is nothing you can do as you won't be able to reset the device.
You can wait until the battery goes flat then try connecting it to power so it restarts. If the same issue occours then you'll need to restore it on iTunes by entering recovery mode.

When I eventually do disconnect my iPad it says sync is not complete. Now, some of my album artwork is not copied into my iPad but on iTunes in my iMac desktop everything is still there. Reset your iPad.

If you have Adobe Acrobat installed on your computer, and don't see the Acrobat Ribbon in Microsoft Word there can be a couple of things to check:
First of all check which version of Adobe Acrobat you have installed (Help menu > About Adobe Acrobat), then see if it is compatible with the version of Word you are using. Use the following link to check what the compatible versions are: Compatible web browsers and PDFMaker applications for a list.
If you find your version of Adobe Acrobat is fully compatible, then check and see if you have the latest updates for Adobe Acrobat installed. From the Help menu > Check for Updates. If any updates are listed, install them, by following the prompts in the dialog boxes that pop-up.
Once you've updated, reboot your computer, then launch Microsoft Word again: Is the Acrobat Ribbon available now? If not, then you might need to check and see if the PDFMakerOfficeAddin is enabled in Word - The following link provides steps on how to do this. I keep trying to empty the trash on my macbook pro as it says i have just under 2gb of harddrive space left. I can't update my software as i don't have enough harddrive space left.
Every time i try and empty the trash it says that it can't empty the trash and gives an error code -8003.
Any ideas how i can fix this?

Actually no. After installing an app on one device, I used to see an "install" button on the second device (since it's already been paid for). Now i get the full price button on the second device. I didn't want to proceed with the purchase because i didn't want to be billed twice.
