I donot think I have a install disk when I bought my mac, there is only a disc partition for recovery system.

You have to install Boot Camp drivers. On Mountain Lion, you have to download them.
First, press X key while your Mac is starting to start into OS X. Then, open Boot Camp Assistant and select the option to download the drivers. You will have to burn them into a DVD or USB drive, so after downloading them, restart and install them into Windows

i just installed yosemite on my mcb pro mid 2012 with a clean install. so i only had the new os x yosemite running on my mac. everything went perfect. than i installed win8.1 with the bootcamp assistant and also everything went perfect.
But here's the Problem:
When i'm using Windows 8.1 and i go to the "Computer" window where i can find my hdd partition "Bootcamp (c;) there is only this Partition. the mac Partition is missing.
so i am not able to read the files on my mac Partition.
Before i installed yosemite and win8.1, i was running mavericks and win7 on my macbook pro and i haven't had this Problem. i was able to see and read my mac Partition also on Windows 8.1???
is there any solution for this Problem???

I searched drivers for the windows 8 32 bit but couldn't find any...

ChiponnThere's been an update for OSX ML which addresses the issue for installing Windows 8 on bootcamp.
It's NOT recommended that you Upgrade.. However, the way to get the drivers is:
You'll need an external USB drive formatted as FAT for this.
1) In OSX, start the Bootcamp Assistant
2) Press Next
3) UNTICK 'Remove WIndows 7 or Later Version'
4) TICK Download the Latest Windows Support Software from Apple
5) Insert USB drive
6) Press CONTINUE
The drivers should download, and copy a WIndowsSupport folder onto the USB drive.
I did notice that Windows 8 still requires beta drivers for some aspects such as VGA (the Radio HD Card), which you can get on the AMD website.
Futhermore, why are you using Windows 8 "32" bit when you blatently have a powerful 64bit?

Mountain Lion 1.8.2 update made my dual monitor stop working on Mac Pro mid 2012
Just done Apple's update for Mac OS X Mountain Lion to 1.8.2 and after rebooting my dual monitor stopped working.
If I go on preferences -> Displays it shows me only one of my two monitors, even if I invert the connections the 2nd monitor doesn't shows up and there seems no way to enable it again.
Any suggestion?
P.S. I already tried to set from "Best for display" to "Scaled", but after rebooting Mountain Lion 1.8.2 reset it to "Best for display"Ok,

After reboot only the 1st monitor wored fine, the 2nd not even listed, so tried to invert cable connections on the 2 miniports on the ATI video card, but nothing changed, still only the 1st monitor working.
Did a second test, disconnected the 1st monitor and connected ONLY the 2nd and now the second works fine.
Tried to connect 2nd monitor on a different miniport, and i still works fine.
Updated my MacBook Pro to 1.8.2 (it as an nVidia card) and connected my 2nd monitor to it and everything works fine, both the laptop LCD and my HP LCD are working fine.
So it looks like Apple screwed up the ATI driver on the latest 1.8.2, now only ONE miniport is active.
To all users with the same Mac Pro configuration: hold to update to Mountain Lion 1.8.2 until Apple fix this driver issue.
More info are on the Console output, so will have to contact Apple on-line support to signal this bug. -

I activated file vault for the first time after upgrading to Yosemite OS X . Normal boot is unsuccessful as system hangs and get stuck but works only on safe mode (with usual limitations)and on contacting apple support tried internet recovery to create partition on HD to reinstall Yosemite, but failed as partition lay out is inactive ,later it was informed that encryption process overworked 500GB (non SSD) hard drive and the hard drive needs to be replaced!!

Wireless PCIe Adapter on Mac Pro Mid 2012
Hi MP Folks
I would like to know if anyone ever tried adding a wireless adapter into a PCI Express slot in Mac Pro Mid 2012?
I need to have two wireless connections for my Mac Pro. One is for Internet access, the other is for internal RDP access. A PCI Express based solution is expected because no USB socket will be occupied.
Is there any Mac Pro compatible wireless PCIe adapter? Any recommendations please?

Regarding the devices that require no additional software on OS X, do you know if there is an official link to list all compatible third-party devices of OS X? Something like Windows Compatibility Center?
As for additional security, yes, you are right. I have to choose wireless as wired connections are not feasible, all the client computers on the internal subnet are mobile devices.

I have a Mac Pro Mid 2010 and 2012 both running OS 10.8.5. Both using ATI Radeon HD 5770 1052 MB vid cards.
Using the standard Display that came with the Macs, everytime I'm working in Ilustrator CS5 or 6, the Document I am working on gets transparent, and I when I try to move a pallete or the Document itself, the pallet or doc leaves trails from where it was to where I moved it. The only way I can resolve it is to open the Display prefs, choose a lower res, then switch it back to the "Best for Display" option. This started happening on both machines after the 10.8.5 update. I have since gone through all the Pram and Board resets, even had Apple replace the Vid Card and nothing helps. Anybody have this issue. It only happens in Illustrator.Hi Marco@JustALittle,

I recently saw that for os x server apple says that you can run it on inexpensive hardware like mac pro, imac and mac mini. It doesn't say anything about notebooks. So if i buy os x server will i be able to run it on my macbook pro mid 2012 with i5 2.5 GH, 4 Gb RAM and 10.8.4?

I have a macbook pro mid 2012 non retina display and i tried using an external display for it. I hooked it up and the screen blacked out and turned back on like normal and the computer itself was reading that the display was there. The only problem is that on the display itself there is no image of the macbook being displayed. im using a thunderbolt to vga connector and all the connection check out the only problem is the display. the display works on my other macbook that i have just fine i dont understand why it wouldnt work on this new one. Keep in mind i have had this computer for only 5 days.

Monitor not working after installing new memory in Mac Pro
I installed 4GB of new memory in my first generation Mac Pro following diagram. When I booted the monitor is black. The key board is working but not the monitor. I removed the new memory and tried again but same problem. Any suggestions on solving this problem would be greatly appreciated.
Well no one really buys from Apple and higher density goes into A1:2 then B1:2 and four DIMMs in those is best symmetrical configuration.
You say you tried xyz but not really very specific to me.
Some users doesn't tell much. However sometimes putting all the 512MB (not 500) on one Riser and the 4GB set on other has worked.
If it doesn't work with just the new RAM alone in A1:2 then it is bad or wrong and needs to go back.
And there have been 3-4 article changes on how to reset SMC. Yours has an SMC button. Leaving unplugged alone is a waste and almost useless. Hitting power button while unplugged was added in 2009.
And it could still be your GPU which is common - 7300 or X1900 or 8800GT... or... -
Vista and XP load and boot up to desktop, no problems. Custom install of 7 goes right through the install and says it's completed, windows boots up (not showing desktop or the option to type in the product key) but then shuts down repeatedly and wont even let me start up in any safe mode.
I have also tried upgrading from vista with SP1 but gets to the end saying it was not successful and restored back to Vista - very frustrating!
Another thing i've tried (amongst others!) is having no hardware plugged in (just monitor, keyboard and mouse), even taking out any other hard drives than the one the OS is installed on.
I have a feeling it may be a display problem as when windows reboots it goes (very quickly) through a blue screen saying reset the display driver, driver timeout failed, collecting data for crash dump before getting to 100% very quickly before i can read it all and rebooting with the options to start up in safe mode of which it it says it cannot do and to allow a restart to finish installation which of course doesn't happen!
Back in the mac this is what i get when accessing 'about this mac' Where it says Display Connector Status: No Display Connected is this normal as i do have a monitor plugged in and working! All software (inc display driver) on osx is up to date
