HT3986 I received an IPod Mini as a gift. I downloaded the CD, installed iTunes. I get this message: "This program has known compatibility issues. iTunes installs drivers that are valid but incompatible with this 64bit version of Windows. What to do?
Here is what my system is:
ASUS CM5671
Windows 7 Home Premium
Pentium R Dual Core CPU E 5500 @ 2.8 GHz 2.8 GHz
4.0 GB RAM 3.75 GB usable
64 Bit Operating System
What software do i need to download to get this to work properly?

Legally, you can't. You cannot transfer ownership of bought contents.
BTW, just out of curiosity, why hasn't your oughter simply changes thru iTunes sync the music she wants on the iPod? You don't need to have multiple iPods or give them away to change music. You control that by creAting different playlists in iTunes, then choosing to sync the ones you want.

Remove all of these items in the following order:

Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

While installing latest version of iTunes error "This iTunes installer is intended for 32-bit versions of Windows. Please download and install the 64-bit iTunes installer instead" how to deal with it ?
Doublechecking. What's the filename of the installer you've been downloading? (The 32-bit installer is called iTunesSetup.exe, and the 64-bit installer is called iTunes64Setup.exe.)

I have been attempting to download the VisualStudio Express 2013 program but the setup is being blocked and giving the message "This version of VisualStudio requires a computer with a newer version of Windows."
My computer has Windows 7 Home Premium with ServicePack1 and 64-bit Operating System. The supported systems shows that Windows 7 SP1 is supported but I am still getting this error message. I need this program for a class I am taking at school. My professor
has offered little help so now I turn to any of you for help.

Which version of Visual stuio express 2013 do you install. Express 2013 for Web, Express 2013 for Windows or express 2013 for Windows Desktop? As far as I know, Express 2013 for Web and express
2013 for Windows Desktop can install in Windows 7 SP1 (x86 and x64) operation system. But Express 2013 for Windows requires Windows 8.1 (x86 and x64) operating system.

when trying to download ipod reset utility for windows i get a message that the installer is intended for 32-bit version of windows. what can i do?
I assume you have tried everything here?
iPod: Cannot restore or update in iTunes with error 1415, 1417, 1418, 1428, 1429, 1430, 1436, or 1439
It doesn't mention 1442, but the same troubleshooting applies.
It wouldn't hurt to also try another available USB port on your machine and another sync cable if possible.
Lastly, try restoring the iPod on another PC or Mac running iTunes.
If you know of somebody with a PC running Windows XP still, ask them if you can download the reset utility and use it to reset the Shuffle.

Dear Apple. I have just installed Windows 7 64-bit full version Home Premium using Bootcamp and cannot get access to the internet. I installed on a Macbook Air Mid 2012 with Mountain Lion. Are there some drivers that are missing from the Windows 7 bootcamp install download from Apple
It is a Total Misconception that the Support files are installed when you are installing Windows, even if the USB drive that holds them is inserted in the system when doing the Windows install.
You must always Run the Setup.exe files from the support files or run the drivers individually once Windows has finished installing and booted to the desktop.
Also you really need to run the Boot Camp Control Panel Applet and check for updates as not all the newest drivers for full function of all the hardware is included with the original support download. That download is basically a generic version to get the system working and without doing the updates not everything will work properly. -
I have downloaded the most recent itunes on my new computer with windows 8 but when I attempt to get in I get this message "The itunes library.itl file is locked, ona locked disk, or you do not have write permission for this file." How do i fix this?
Repair iTunes Security Permissions
Right-click on your main iTunes folder and click Properties, then go to the Securitytab and click Advanced. Use the Change Permissions... button grant to your account (or the Users group) and SYSTEM full control of this folder, subfolders and files, then tick the option to Replace permissions entries... which will repair permissions throughout the library. When complete switch to the General tab, click in the Read-only check box to clear it, then click Apply.
If you don't have the option to change the permissions then use the Owner tab and Edit... button to take ownership from an account with administrator privileges. Tick the option to Replace owner on subcontainers and objects.
Repeat with the media folder if it isn't stored inside the main iTunes folder.
If you've brought over the library from another computer you may also want to remove any "mystery" identities (S<string of dashes & digts>) that have come over from the old computer...
The images above are from Windows 7. Hopefully the system isn't too different in Windows 8.

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

I stored some Pictures in my IPod Mini[4GB] and i want to see those photos in MY TV inorder to show to my friends..

and what should i need and what should i do?Yes, you can STORE pictures and/or video files on your mini. That's all you can do with them though - store them. This is so you can move them from your computer to another computer, but while they're on your iPod, there's really nothing you can do with them.
The firmware in the mini simply does not have any capabilities to process the files to output to a tv.
The iPods with color displays are able to display photos (not video) on a tv, but not the mini or any iPod without a color display. -

Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:
