If you want, you could also use Hiren's BootCD to make a bootable CD with many options and programs on it (I keep one, just for certain situations) that will allow you to do the same things.

You can try resetting your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the problem persists. If it doesn't work, there isn;t much anyone here can do for you. It may be a physical problem with your speakers. -
I'm going on vacation and want to watch movies on a TV by connecting my iPad 2 to the TV. I've got the cable for that. However, I'm afraid of the battery going dead right in the middle of a program. I've noticed that the iPad dock only has one outlet in the back for a cable. Is there a dock or another accessory that would allow me to have my iPad charging while I also have it connected to the TV to watch the movie? Thanks.
If your TV is HDMI (and most are now) the Digital AV adapter does just that. Just remember that you need to have an HDMI cable.

In the previous version of Firefox, I could go back to a previous webpage by clicking on a part of the Back button which brought up a list of recently visited sites, and by clicking one of these, could jump straight back to that page. This facility does not seem to be available in the latest Firefox, and the Back button only goes back one page at a time. This is really inconvenient, as,
it now takes longer to get to an earlier page
there is no visibility of previous pages visited
any actions carried out on webpages are undone when going back through them - this does not happen when jumping back several pages in one go.
This is a real problem as I used to the old system constantly, and cannot continue to use Firefox 4.0 unless there is a way around it.For me, I have the same question, this is a poorly done upgrade and I want to go back to 3.6

When I connect my Macbook Pro to my Dell DLP projector, either via cable or wirelessly, I just see a dark screen with the mouse and mouse trails only, can any one help?
jpmarkques post is a good start point, after folling his directions, you can try detect displays. Also try different rsolution and refresh rates.
Most of the projectors I have used support a 1024X768 res.
Youcan also try a pram reset if it still does not detect.
Leave theproctor connected and powered up, power down the MBP.
Power back up the MBP and hold the following keys before you hear the start up chime:
Option, command, P,R (no commas) continue to hold these keys till you hear the start up chime 2 times. -

I want to know, how can I made my dashboard to remember scenario on permanent basis as scenario button only allows this option on temporary basis, once you close your dashboard your scenario will no longer available using scenario button. iphone 4: Home Button Not Working. The home button only works when it is connected to iTunes, once i disconnet it does not work, i have tried a restore to factory settings but it still is not working. Any suggestions?
Apple, as I said, does not repair your iPhone. All hardware service issues are handled by replacing the unit. So they can't handle the home-button issue without also addressing the issue of the cracked screen, for which they'll almost certainly charge you. But you can make an appointment at an Apple Store or call Apple tech support and plead your case.

Hi, yes preferences sees there is a second display it recognises what make of monitor it is etc but I just get a blank blue screen on the monitor when I change it to the hdmi setting! I have tried with mirroring on and off, rearranging the displays in the preference window and lots of different resolution settings but with no difference.
An old MacBook connects fine so the monitor and hdmi port must be okay. I'm sure we have used the cable before but it could have been with the previous MacBook Air. The current one I'm using is a mid 2011 version running lion and is (according to software update) all up to date.
Any thoughts or help would be appreciated! -

I cannot find out where to organize my bookmarks in any of the bookmark dropdowns. I can only do it one by one. Is there a way to do mass organization?
In previous versions you could select organize bookmarks. In this version it is gone. I would imagine that since FF now can sync across multiple devices, the ability to organize from any of those becomes more important. Selecting one bookmark at a time to delete or move is too tedious for people with hundreds or thousands of bookmarks.The way bookmarks are managed has not changed. You now access to the Library window by selecting Bookmarks > Show all bookmarks from the Firefox menu.

After updated software on mac mini with os x 10.7.5 and restart the mouse pointer after about 30 sec. converted to the rainbow wheel and I can't control the computer. Don’t be alarmed by the complexity of these instructions — they’re easy to carry out and won’t change anything on your Mac.
These steps are to be taken while booted in safe mode.
Below are instructions to enter some UNIX shell commands. The commands are harmless, but they must be entered exactly as given in order to work. If you have doubts about the safety of the procedure suggested here, search this site for other discussions in which it’s been followed without any report of ill effects.
Some of the commands will line-wrap or scroll in your browser, but each one is really just a single line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, and you can then copy it. The headings “Step 1” and so on are not part of the commands.
Note: If you have more than one user account, Step 2 must be taken as an administrator. Ordinarily that would be the user created automatically when you booted the system for the first time. The other steps should be taken as the user who has the problem, if different. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this paragraph doesn’t apply.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
When you launch Terminal, a text window will open with a line already in it, ending either in a dollar sign (“$”) or a percent sign (“%”). If you get the percent sign, enter “sh” and press return. You should then get a new line ending in a dollar sign.

This time you'll be prompted for your login password, which you do have to type. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. Type it carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. Heed that warning, but don't post it. Note: If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before taking this step. If that’s not possible, skip to the next step.
Step 3
Repeat with this line:

You can do better than that. You can click on the Restore button that appears under your device in iTunes. This will restore your iPod to factory settings as if it were fresh out of the box. But don't worry. By doing a restore, you will then be given the option to "Restore from Backup." This will allow you to restore the state of your previous iPod!!
