HT3989 Open 32-bit AU at logic pro 10

I updated from snow leopard to mountain lion and from logic pro 9 to 10. I can't change it to 32-bit even if I follow the instructions above. what can I do?

LPX is 64-bit exclusively and so is the OS ML! Therefore you're out of luck if you plan to use 32-bit plugins. There are possibilities to bypass this rule with assistance of third party apps. At the moment I'm testing Plogue Bidule
http://youtu.be/7KAifzef5uk
I'm still testing all possibilities, but it looks promising.
Another app which seems to be capable of offering a platform for this purpose is Vienna Symphonic Library. I did not have the chance to test so I will not comment.
Hope that helps.
Have a nice day!

  • HT3989 how do you activate 64 bit mode in logic pro 9 if you purchased it directly from the apps store?

    hey team
the instructions for the regular activation of 64 bit mode don't seem to work as there is no logic folder in the applicetions, only the icon to launch the program.
    thanks

    Hi
Select the Logic Pro application within the Applications folder, and use Command I (or File:Get Info).
Un-chcek the 'Open in 32 bit mode' button

  • Can I open Remix Tools 2 in Logic Pro's Loop Browser?

I have no problem opening up GarageBand's Jam Pack Remix Tools 2, but can only figure it out through "Import Audio File" and it's in the form of one extremely long list of files.
Is there anyway to open up this Remix Tools 2 in the same fashion of opening up "Jam Pack Management" that came with Logic Pro when I bought it? That looks a lot more organized and I'd rather click on "beats" or "bass" versus scrolling down the listen of Remix Tools 2 in alphabetical order trying to find each "beat" or "bass" contained in every file.
I'd like to open this up Remix Tools 2 through "Audio" -> "Loop Browser" but don't understand the means to get it there or if it is possible even. Any help would be grateful.

Wait, so how do I delete this thread? My question was answered in a previous thread (although from when I read it I didn't understand what it meant at the time).

  • How to open free-synth daHornet in Logic Pro

I have just downloaded the freesynth daHornet and would like to use in Logic Pro.
I have copied the .compnent file into library/adio/plug-ins/components.
I have tried to open daHornet through the 'inserts' portal of Logic, but daHornet does not register.
When I click on the .component file, it takes me to Garageband, where I can open the synth, but as I don't use Garageband, so this is no use to me.
(I believe that once the synth opens for the 1st time in Logic, you need to key in a serial number, but I have not got this far yet.)
Any suggestions on how to open daHornet in Logic would be greatly appreciated.
    Kind Regards.

That is interesting to hear that daHornet opens in 10.4.8 but not 10.4.9.
It sounds like if I 'force load' daHornet in AU Manager, the only issue I may encounter is instability (-would this mean the possibility of daHornet crashing occasionally?)
If so, it sounds like it is worth a try!
More than likely, it will work just fine. The only annoying thing is every time you launch Logic, you'll get a prompt saying that there are incompatible plug-ins in use. You'll have to check "O.K" (or something like that), and then things work as normal.
If you do discover Logic behaving erratically, or unexplained crashes, at least you'll know the likely source.
But that fact that it passes the AU validation in 10.4.8, and not 10.4.9, tells me you won't likely have any performance issues, just that annoying prompt when Logic starts.

  • 32-bit plugins in Logic Pro X (for Free)

There's still a few essential plugins many of use which haven't become 64-bit just yet... (e.g. Sylenth).
There are a few ways to run them in a au/vst host and get that into Logic... namely: VEPro and Plogue Bidule. Both of these solutions hit the wallet, so I've found a way to use FREE tools to do much the same thing using Apple's AU Lab and Soundflower.
I've written up a tutorial here:

  • Opening 16-bit TIFF in LabVIEW Pro

16-bit images are captured from a PerkinElmer digital panel in an x-ray system. LabVIEW will not open these saved TIFF images directly. If images are first opened using ImageJ and then re-saved as a TIFF image LabVIEW can then open them. The images however have the same file size but are slightly modified at the high intensity values which currently are not an issue.
How can these TIFF images be opened without having to go through this second step; has anyone written LabVIEW software to take images directly from the panel - free or for purchase as a vi for use in a larger program?

Would it be possible to post one these images.  I have tried to duplicate the issue using a stock Tiff image, but I cannot get the error you are reporting.  I would check and make sure that all of your image types match up, such as in IMAQ Create and IMAQ ImageToArray.  If you are reserving a memory location for an image other than 16 Bit, then that could cause an error.  Also, if you don't have the correct indicator wired to the output of the IMAQ ImageToArray VI, that could cause an error too.  It sounds like the error is occuring at IMAQ ReadFile though.  Are you using the default file options, or are you setting them through a control or constant?  If so, what inputs are you changing?  If the inputs don't match up, that could lead to an error also.

  • 64-bit logic pro won't open. Dyld error message

I am trying to open the 64-bit version of logic pro 9.1.1 but it keeps crashing when trying to open. I can't work out why it won't open but It gives the following error in the Problem Report if anyone can help me out here:

Hmm, very strange, never seen this message before. Have you tried going into Disk Utility and running a "Repair Disk Permissions" on your Macintosh HD? Can't guarantee it will fix the problem, but worth a try.. If you get really stuck, the simplest thing to do is just to uninstall Logic and then reinstall it, apply updates etc.. and try 64 bit again.

  • Mac mini mid 2011 and logic pro 9 in 64-bit?

    Hi,
I have a mac mini mid 2011 with a 2.7HGz intel core i7 processor and 8 GB of RAM. I have been using Logic Pro 9 in 32-bit mode and tried switching to 64-bit mode. I unchecked the "open in 32-bit mode" in the "get inf" section, but logic still opens in 32-bit mode.
My question is: Can my computer run Logic Pro 9 in 64-bit mode???
    Thankyou!

    Hi there jdtay2,
It looks like your model of Mac Mini does have a 64-bit processor according to the article "How to tell if your Intel-based Mac has a 32-bit or 64-bit processor"
    Processor Name
    32- or 64-bit
    Intel Core Solo
    32 bit
    Intel Core Duo
    32 bit
    Intel Core 2 Duo
    64 bit
    Intel Quad-Core Xeon
    64 bit
    Dual-Core Intel Xeon
    64 bit
    Quad-Core Intel Xeon
    64 bit
    Core i3
    64 bit
    Core i5
    64 bit
    Core i7
    64 bit
As far as opening Logic Pro in 64-bit mode, you will first want to make sure that you have the most updated version, as 64-bit support was added in the v9.1 update. The article below has more information about Logic Pro and 64-bit mode.

  • When i try to open my projekt in logic pro x it say audio files not found?

when i try to open up a projekt in logic pro x it say audio files not found why is this heppends?

This error typically means the audio files you used in this project are no longer found in their original location.. (did you move or delete them?) or you have renamed the audio files..... or they were located on an external HD etcand that drive or disk is no longer available.... because its not plugged in.

  • Logic pro won't load plug-ins

    Hey!
I know that there are several discussions about this, but i think this problem that i've got is quite unique.
I am using Mountain Lion on a Macbook Pro with Logic pro 9.
I was using the following plug-ins:
    *Sausage fattener
    *Massive
    *Sylenth1
    *Nexus
The problem here is that yesterday, i shut down my computer, when i woke up and started Logic, it was saying:
Logic pro: Plug-in "Nexus" not available.
Logic pro: Plug-in "Sylenth1" not available.
So i restarted the computer and now it has added:
Logic pro: Plug-in "Sausage fattener" not available.
    Massive still works though.
I checked the vst folders and everything, deleted it and reinstalled, restarted my computer but NOTHING works.
Do anyone have a clue what to do? Been googeling all day..
    Cheers!

    Those are all 32bit plugins...
So start up Logic Pro in 32bit mode and see if that fixes things...
    Resolution
To switch Logic between 32- and 64-bit mode:
Quit Logic Pro, if it is running.
Navigate to and select the Logic Pro application in the Applications folder.
    Choose File, then Get Info.
Select the "Open in 32-bit mode" checkbox to run Logic Pro in 32-bit mode. Deselect the checkbox to run Logic Pro in 64-bit mode.
My guess is you changed modes..
Note: The 32bit plugins will also show up in 64bit mode under the 32bit plugin area of the drop down menu... (and then they use the 32bit to 64bit bridge program automatically) so you might need to just run LP in 32bit mode and then again in 64bit mode to fully revalidate them again..

  • Reason 5 Rewire Logic Pro X

Hi, I have a Reason 5. How can I rewire in Logic Pro X?

    Barry,
Open Logic, Go to Preferences, go to audio and set the ReWire Behavior Live or playback mode depending on what you are doing with Reason if you are playing live or just receiving the MIDI  playback from Reason. Click apply changes and close preferences. I had to close and relaunch Logic for the change to take effect though this might not be the case for you.
After you have set that up in preferences and applied the changes Launch Reason and check the Hardware Interface in the master section to see if the ReWire indicator has turned green.
Additional instructions for rewire to Logic can be found on the Propellerheads web site at http://www.propellerheads.se/substance/rewirehelp/?fuseaction=get_article&articl e=logic8_0
Just realised that your are on Reason 5.. Might not work as that is 32bit application. Reason 6 & 7 supports 64 bit as is Logic Pro X.....Those versions should work.

  • Good hardware to run After Effects and Logic Pro?

    Hello Anyone Who Will Listen!
I am currently using a 15" MacBook Pro running on OS X 10.7.5 (Lion)
--Processor 2.4 GHz Intel Core i7
    --750 GB HardDrive
    --4 GB RAM (1333 MHz DDR3)
--AMD Radeon HD 6770M 1024 MB Graphics
--I also use a WD "My Passprt Studio" 1TB External Hardive. (I store all my Logic Pro, After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator projects on there instead of on the Main MacBook HD which only has 750GB of Memory)
I am a musician and an audio engineer of sorts.  I have been producing music on my MacBook Pro using Logic Pro, amongst some other third party Plug-ins that are each just as big as Logic Pro. And for the past year I've been hittin it pretty aggressively as I produced my entire album with my MacBook Pro being the only computer involved in the process.  As you probably know that is a hefty workload to put on a computer between recording tracks, mixing and mastering...I'm honestly surprised my MacBook Pro made it through the whole process with only 4GB of RAM. Although it did give me some "System Overload" messages along the way which got to be very annoying interrupting my workflow.  And while I was using Logic Pro I could never have another application open at the same time. Even something like Safari could not be opened while I was using Logic Pro.
Now to top it all off I am using other Applications to market my music such as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe After Effects. I'm using version CS6 for Photoshop and Illustrator and using the new Creative Cloud version for After Effects.
Now that I've explained what I use my computer for I can explain the actual problem haha...Inside Logic Pro there were two indicators, one labeled HD and the other labeled CPU, if one or the other reached its limit the system would overload cause lagging or just a shut down/freeze.  And while working in Adobe After Effects the "RAM Preview" almost never plays back in realtime if I get more than a minute into a song that a am making a Kinetic Typography Video for.
So I need a new Computer or external HD or Increased RAM that will make these things no longer happen...I am open to any suggestions or ideas.

This Trashcan is an option, but carries the usual disadvantages of all Apple products:
    Huge price
    Mediocre specs
    Only single CPU
    Slow video cards
    Only Thunderbolt 1 connection
    Limited expansion capabilities.
A PC would offer much better price / performance, but Logic Pro is the limiting factor.
