HT4007 I am having trouble when I open a picture white areas are deep red and some of the dark arrears are blue

When I open my images in Aperature the white arears are deep red and the blacks are blue

You have "Highlight Hot and Cold Areas" on.  Turn it off via "View➞Highlight Hot and Cold Areas".  Note the keyboard shortcut -- this is usually how it gets turned on by mistake.
