Is it safe and secure to use iOS 3.1.3 ?
I have heard of no exploits that can affect non-jailbroken iPhones regardless of the version of iOS. While iOS 3.x is no longer being updated, there should be no reason to worry. A second-generation iPod touch can run up to iOS 4.2.1, though.
And are you able to use the latest version of the facebook app on this iOS?
No. As the Requirements for the Facebook app in the iTunes Store state, it requires iOS 4.0 or later.

  • HT201317 Is it safe and secure?

Is the photos and the videos on my iPhone or any other apple device are safe and secure and once I delete them manually dose it gets deleted permanently ?

Not if you're relying on your iCloud backup to keep them.  While the backup includes photos and videos in your camera roll, if you delete them from your phone, then continue to back it up, the backup that contains the deleted photos and videos will soon be overwritten by one that doesn't, and they will be lost.
To keep them permanently backed up, import them to your computer as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.

  • HT6147 Why haven't they done a patch for those of us who have not updated and prefer to use iOS 6?

Why haven't they done a patch for those of us who have not updated and prefer to use iOS 6?

Totally agree with Andy. Apple needs to support its users whether or not they decide to update to iOS 7.
The reviews from i Pad 3 owners (like me) is that when they've updated to iOS 7 they've experienced latency and sluggishness. Why would I ruin a perfectly good iPad by updating to iOS 7?
Please let me know where I can find a patch for iOS 6.
    Thanks!

  • I have used a Seagate external hard drive for my Mac desktop. It is malfunctioning. Can I disconnect and depend on iCloud to keep my documents, music, and photos backed up safe and secure? I use the Cloud for phone, pad and desktop.

Can I expect iCloud to safely back up and secure my documents, music and pictures? I am using Cloud on phone, pad, and desktop. Have depended on external hard drive in the past. It is malfunctioning. Will the Cloud replace it for storage and safety?

Time Machine in itself, without an external drive may well be good for instances where you accidentally delete documents that you later require. However in the event of a hard drive failure, if Time Machine backup is kept on the same drive as the original items, it will not be much use to you.
In my opinion, it is vitally important that you have an external drive for backup, whether you use Time Machine or a another backup solution is entirely up to you.
My situation is slightly unusual, I have four hard drives in my computer and multiple arrays of hard drive enclosures with multiple hard drives within them (in total I have 40 TB of storage). As a result of this I tend to employ more than one backup procedure, I use Time Machine to backup some items and a utility called tri-backup to backup other items. I also keep two backups of everything.
Time Machine is free, it's included with your operating system, I wonder if you mean time capsule.

  • How long is FF3.6 going to be safe and secure?

I tried FF4 but hated it and will not use it. TOO Many problems. I WILL switch to anything else if you end support for FF3.6. Fro what I read I am not alone.

Support for Firefox 3.6 '''''will''''' eventually end, but I haven't seen a proposed date for that to happen. Considering that Firefox 3.5.19 is scheduled to be released on Tuesday 4/19, along with 3.6.17, a full 15 months after 3.6 was originally released - I would be surprised if Mozilla didn't do security "fix" releases for 3.6 well into 2012.

  • Compressing of data and securing it using passwords in xi

    Hi,
How can we compress data in xi? How do you secure it using passwords?
    thanks in advance,

    Hi Ramya,
For  compressing of data  into Zip files we have a feature called AdapterModule configuration.Where in we have to configure PayLoadZipBean in the communication channel. But as far as secutiry is concerned SSL cerificates (encrytption decryption) can help you out .

  • When using Firefox 3.6 my Norton Security Suite taged each site with a green circle if it deemed the site safe and secure - Firefox 4.0 does not show this protection o

When I was running Firefox 3.6 my Norton security Suite marked each site with a green circle to indicate to me that they felt that the site was safe to go to. They also indicated the sites that they protected with a yellow rectangle.
When I switched to Firefox 4.0 those markers no longer appear.
Really would like to have that sense of security back.
What do I need to do to get Norton back on the job with Firefox

Symantec have released updates for Norton 360 and Norton Internet Security to make them compatible with Firefox 4, for details see http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Internet-Security-Norton/Firefox-4-compatibility-hotfix-is-now-available/td-p/428894

  • Is MacKeeper is safe and of any use to make the laptop faster?

I always find the ad of MacKeeper at every page I work on.
I am not sure if the software is supported by the Apple.
Nor I am sure of its efficacy.
If you help you, I shall appreciate.
    Abdur Rashid

Do not download MacKeeper. It can do more harm than good.
No, it's definitely not supported by Apple.
Third party so called cleaning utilities are not necessary on a Mac. Your Mac runs maintenance for you.
And best defense for security is to keep the system software up to date.
Check out the results of an Apple Support Communities search for MacKeeper here.

  • Which IOS is safe and secure to user??

    Hello,
I am installing a 4402 WLC next week and I am trying to determine which IOS version I should install. I see that there are many options to choose from. My pass experiences from talking with Cisco Reps that 5.0 is not good and 4.2 is the safest; but I see now that there has been a 5.1, 5.2, and 6.0 release since the last time I have had to upgrade or install a WLC.
I have read the release notes on 4.2.205, 5.2.193, and 6.0.182.0 and nothing seems to jump out at mean in the Caveats that makes me say one is better than the other. So, if anyone can tell me what's best or have any arguments against a particular version I'd appreciate it.
This is a new install with 30 APs.
    Thanks!!

4.2.205.0 is the latest main deployment version of code with the AssureWave accreditation i.e the most tested and stable currently available. I have implemented this code with no issues so far. I would advise only upgrading to 5/6 code if there are any specific features in that release you require for your deployment. Most 5 codes have various bugs and 6 is geared more towards the 5500 WLC at present.
    Hope this helps.

  • TS1702 Trouble in App Store on iPad 2 and 3GS iPhone using IOS 6.0

There's no search icon on the bottom bar.  No apps listed under Feature & Charts.  Anyone else with this problem?  I can see Updates on iPad and iPhone, and the a list of Apps populates when I go into Purchased.  But nothing populates under Feature and under Charts.  I've looked in Settings but don't see anything there to indicated a problem.  If you know how I can fix this issue, please advise.  Thanks.

    Quit the app store completely.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Try the App Store again.
    Or try this ....
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time>Set Automatically>Off. Set the date one year ahead. Try to update the apps again. If you get an error message, go back to the settings. Correct the date and time (set automatically) then go back and try to update the apps again.
    Or try this ...
Settings>Privacy>Location Services>System Services (swipe to the bottom of the page to find this)>Location Based iAds>Off.

  • Maybe a silly question...are unoffical OS (leaks) safe/secure to use?

So maybe this is a silly question....I have been trying to downgrade my OS after my TMobile phone somehow downloaded an ATT update (10.2.1.3014) that wasn't supported by the Tmobile network and caused all sorts of problems with the device.
After extensive work with Blackberry Support, I am told there is no way to "officially" downgrade back to the Tmobile supported version (10.2.1.2228).
This leaves the files or "leaks" (if you want to call them that), that are available in the forums through the autoloaders.  Obviously not knowing where those files came from, who posted them, or what, if any modifications have been made, I'm worried about security, malware, privacy, etc.
Are these things safe and secure to use just like an official OS would be?  Is there anyway to verify?
Thanks in advance for your help.  Sorry if its a silly question.

    Hello,
The autoloaders have no malware or viruses... at least I haven`t heard about any of that. I have used Autoloaders before and the only thing I can suggest is to make sure you download the proper files (OS and radio files) for your phone. In any case case, make sure you do a backup.
If you have more questions, ask away.
    Good luck

  • Does iOS 6.1.5 provide same security updates as iOS 7?

The info provided with the iOS 6.1.5 update says "This update contains security content originally included in previous iOS Software Updates."
Does this mean that the same vulnerabilities and security updates that were fixed from iOS 6.1.3 to iOS 7.0 were fixed or does it mean the iOS 6.1.5 has the same vulnerabilities and security problems as iOS 6.1.3 and that 6.1.5 only fixed Face Time?

Apple does not say. All theysaid is:
For the protection of our customers, Apple does not disclose, discuss or confirm security issues until a full investigation has occurred and any necessary patches or releases are available. To learn more about Apple Product Security, see the Apple Product Security website.

  • Can my first generation airport express be used with airplay using iOS 7.1.2? It stopped working after one of the big iOS updates.

I have a first generation Airport Express.  Although it appears on the Airplay screen on my iPad and iPhone 5 (using iOS 7.1.2) the music does not play through the Airport Express.  The Airport Express does function correctly when I stream music via iTunes from my desktop computer, so I know that the device is working.  The Airport Express firmware version 7.6.4 is up to date.

  • From a security standpoint, is it safe to still be using ...

Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.1.0?  There are some files published on a web site I routinely refer to that will not read with Adobe Reader 9.3.2.  I was not able to find where 5.1.0 has had any updates in quite some time so I can't help but wonder.  If 5.1.0 is not safe to use is there an alternative?

Version 5 of Acrobat and Reader are no longer supported by Adobe for a lot of reasons involving newer OS and programs that version 5 will not be updated for.
The risk will depend upon which security issue is involved. For example newer versions of Acrobat/Reader support embedded multi-media content and there are a number or security holes with these items. But there are also other security issues involving JavaScript and other objects within a PDF. Many of these security threats use some rare calls and many hackers do not know how to exploit them. The best policy is to keep your anti-virus and OS patched up to date as a first line of defense.
Adobe would like to see you purchase each new upgraded product, but I think you could skip one or two updates but always buying a upgrade when your version is the last version listed for the upgrade version. Version 5 no longer has an upgrade ;path to version 9. With the introduction of MS Office 2010 and Adobe announcing that support for Office 2010 will become available to the next release of Acrobat, you might want to wait for that product.
