HT4053 Camera problem on iPhone 5c

I'm having trouble with the camera on my new iPhone 5c.  It worked fine when I first used it, two days ago.  Today when I tap on the camera icon, it briefly starts to open, then closes - as if it just took a photo.  I can't get it to stay open so I can use any settings.  Could it be related to Facetime being activated?  That happened without my intending to launch it; still not sure how that happened.    I upgraded to this phone from an old flip phone, so have a lot to learn!

  • IOS7 camera problem on iPhone 4S

Since upgrading to iOS7.0.4 on my iPhone 4S, I've noticed the camera crashes if I attempt to take a pic from within the Message app. This happens consistently. The camera also crashes infrequently when trying to take a pic from the Camera app. When I say crash, here's what happens: the camera appears to open normally. It focuses and zooms fine. But when you hit the shutter button, the screen goes blank for several seconds, and then returns you to either the home screen OR sometimes to the first page of apps (this seems somewhat random).
Anyone else experience this issue? My iPhone 4S has plenty of available memory (over 16gb available on a 32gb phone), so I don't think it's a storage issue.

OK, well I tried the DFU mode and restore as new as diesel suggested. I did not reinstall any apps, aside from the native iOS7 apps. The camera worked fine, both from the camera app and from within the message app, for four days. And then the same problem re-appeared ... crashing consistently from within the message app, and crashing about half the time from the camera app.
I'm starting to think it's a memory conflict somewhere, since the app crashes just after the shutter button is triggered. I've had the phone since the 4S was a new product, and did not have this problem until I upgraded to iOS7.
I'm thinking it's time to call my carrier and ask about an upgrade to a 5S, or maybe a downgrade to a dumb phone. I'm giving up on fixing this problem.

I purchased my iPhone 5 in January 2013 in India. For past couple of months, my phone camera dies frequently. The first time it happenned, I update the phone with iOS 6.1.3 and it started working. Next time when Camera was not working then I reset the phone and it started working, Now, I have the same problem, when I open the camera, shutter does not open and I am not able to click any picture.
Does anyone has a similar problem with their iPhone 5? I never had this problem with my iPhone 3GS. Please reply.

My iphone 5s 16 gb has an camera problem, turn the camera on tap all green, please help me

    Hi teejayfs,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If you've noticed unexpected behavior with your iPhone camera, start with these steps to isolate or resolve the issue:
Camera isn't functioning or has undesired image quality
If the screen shows a closed lens or black image, force quit the Camera app.
If you do not see the Camera app on the Home screen, try searching for it in Spotlight. If the camera does not show up in the search, check to make sure that Restrictions are not turned on by tappingSettings > General > Restrictions.
Ensure the camera lens is clean and free from any obstructions. Use a microfiber polishing cloth to clean the lens.
Cases can interfere with the camera and the flash. Try gently cleaning the lens with a clean dry cloth or removing the case if you see image or color-quality issues with photos.
Try turning iPhone off and then back on.
Tap to focus the camera on the subject. The image may pulse or briefly go in and out of focus as it adjusts.
Try to remain steady while focusing:
Still images: Remain steady while taking the picture. If you move too far in any direction, the camera automatically refocuses to the center.
Note: If you take a picture with iPhone turned sideways, it is automatically saved in landscape orientation.
Video: Adjust focus before you begin recording. You can also tap to readjust focus while recording. Exiting the Camera application while recording will stop recording and will save the video to the Camera Roll.
Note: Video-recording features are not available on original iPhone or iPhone 3G.
If your iPhone has a front and rear camera, try switching between them to verify if the issue persists on both.

Sounds kind of stupid, but check to make sure that your iphone case cover is not blocking the edge of the camera lens.  I had a silicone case on my 3S and when it got older, it started tot slip and the edges of my pictures were blurred.

  • IPhone camera problems.

    Ok. I'm running 3.1.3 on iPhone 3G.
Recently my iPhone just decided that it wasn't going to let me take pictures anymore. All it allows me to do is open the camera app and it shows the camera shutter and that's all it shows and a restart of iPhone doesn't work and a restore of iPhone doesn't help. I don't know what the problem could be. It hasn't gotten any water damage or any physical damage to cause this to happen. I really wish someone could help ! I love to take pictures of funny things and show my friends. Now it used to be jailbroken but I unjailbroke it about a week after 3.1.3 came out and it hasn't been jailbroken since. This problem just started with my iPhone about two days ago.

Hello. I have just purchased a used Apple iphone (8GB)from a local salesmen that sells used items for a cheap price. (For example I purchased this phone for the low price of $200.00). After I purchased it I took it home and, with the instructions given by the salesperson, I jail broke my iphone to a Cincinnati Bell Network Plan with my current SIM card. I realized the iphone worked perfectly as if it was brand new, except for one thing, when I went to take a picture the camera didn't work correctly. While researching my iphone's problem on the internet I have not seen a problem quite like mine. I will explain: When you open the app for "camera" on my iphone by clicking on it the camera comes up, but instead of showing on the screen what a normal camera would show, it simply shows a screen that looks to me as what a closed lens of a digital camera would look like if the screen were to show you. It looks like a closed camera lens every time I open up the app with a small icon on the bottom which symbolizes a camera. When you click on the camera icon the iphone does nothing and acts as if you clicked on nothing. To solve this problem I have taken it back to the salesman to ask for help. He took it in for 2 days in which he said he would fix it. When he returned it he sated that he fixed the problem and all I would have to do is put a different camera app on my iphone. However after trying 3 different camera apps, which i wasted money on, I am still left with the same closed lens look on every camera app I have installed. All the camera apps on my phone, new and old, do not react to any touching of the screen after open to open the lens or take a picture. They just simply show the "closed lens" look on the screen, thus NOT fixing my problem. Thank you for any help you can address my problem with. It is much appreciated and if I can fix this problem I won't feel as if I have wasted $200.00 and counting on my iphone and the apps I have installed to fix the issue addressed above.
Thanks again for any assistance in this matter,
    Batsakis

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

I have a problem when iPhone 5 includes the camera in the dark on the screen appear mlenki point that wink. what is it?

I still don't have any idea what caused the problem. It didn't go away when I re-synced. However, when I completely shut down the iPod (64GB Gen4) by pressing and holding the ON/OFF button until it gave me the red 'slide to turn off' control, and then rebooting it from scratch the problem went away.
It looks like there was some conflict between the system and the app that is going to be quite difficult to find. If it happens again I'll try to be more observant of the conditions and report more information.

  • Problems with the camera on the iPhone 5 when taking a picture...

Hello... Could someone tell me what I should do to get the camera on my iPhone 5 working normal again. From one day to another i tried to take a picture and it does not focus at all! it keeps the image blurry. I reseted the iPhone 3 times and nothing.
    What should I do?
    Thanks...

    @munja
Unfortunately, I have to say that you are not right!!!!
Please dont post any wrong statements!
The Camera Assistant software provides also the settings for the video.
Start the cam software and click on the first option above.
The Web camera control panel should start. On the right hand you will find settings.
Click on the settings and choose properties.
In the tab called options you can zoom in and out. Furthermore you can set the night mode and backlight compensation.

  • Iphone 6 camera problems cannot change front to back

Has the photo you linked to been enlarged or is that the complete photo at actual size? The dot looks like an out of focus spec of dust.
If you feel your camera on the iPhone is not performing correctly make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

Hi there, I haven't actually heard of this issue but I would advise restoring your iPhone which should fix that. Follow this article below and follow the steps.
