HT4059 How do I copy or share text in iBooks?

I M trying to share passages from books on social media. How do I do this please in iBooks. Amazon allows it.

I too am having this problem when trying to share text from books from iPad. Interestingly I CAN share text to twitter etc from iBooks on my iPhone.
My iPad is a 3 and runnning the latest IOS with the iBooks3 update. Any ideas?

When I insert an image in textflow using InlineGraphicElement it works, but when I copy the line with the image to MS Word it copies only the text (not the image).

If you want copy formatted text and image to MS Word, you need to give MS Word rtf markup, because Word can recognize rtf markup but not TLF markup.
So you need to create a custom clipboard to paste a rtf markup. It's a large feature for you, because you need a tlf-rtf converter in your custom clipboard.

I have a very large pdf file (500 pages) comprised of 200 letters. How do I copy individual letters (copy and paste sections of the file) and put them in a new pdf or word file?

When you open your PDF file a yellow bar will appear on the top of the screen.
Click on 'Enable All Features'.
Then you will be able to copy the content from your pdf and to paste in any of the file.

Provided that the PDF isn't secured, or protected, you can simply drag your cursor over the text that you want to copy and choose Edit > Copy to copy the text to the clipboard. Then, you can switch to whatever application you want to paste into and choose Edit > Paste.
You may not be able to select the text if the document has been secured by its creator. You can tell by looking for "Secured" in the title bar of the PDF.

While reading email messages in the Gmail app if I want to copy text I will tap and hold over the text - but nothing happens.
This same gesture in the messages app brings up a dialogue to copy/paste/etc...
I must be missing something cuz this should be a simple task.

Long pressing is supposed to work the same way in gmail. I would restart my device and try again and if that doesn't fix it there might be something installed on your device that is causing interference. At worst I would factory reset my device, then if it is still there after it's probably a manufacturer defect and needs to be replaced.

Adding multiple images to site and how to avoid copying/pasting identical text on different pages

Hi guys, I've been using DW up till now and have been recommended to try Muse.
A couple of questions that I have been unable to answer by searching ...
1) I want to transfer all images from my old DW site but can't find a way to add these to the new site's assets. Can I only add images manually to a page for them to appear under assets?
2) In DW I used iframes to have the same text appear on different parts of a site. This means that when text about a product changes, it updates in every instance rather than me having to copy and paste into the different instances. Is an iframe the best process in Muse or is there a better way?

Hi Jo,
You can't add the images directly to the assets folder directly. You need to add the images to the pages for them to appear under assets.
For updating text in every instance, the best way to do so in Muse is to place the text on a Master page and apply it to all the desired child pages. So all you would needed to do is to update the text on the master page and it will updated on all the associated child pages.

How do I copy and paste text style for multiple video tracks?

I am creating multiple video tracks with text. I want to easily copy and paste the style, i.e., Font, Color, Size - rather than having to scroll down the giant list of fonts to find the one I want, then change the color, then change the size - each and every time. This is arduous.
I tried copy / paste of one text onto a new video track, but when I type in a different word, it alters the original.
I have 9 tracks of video for 9 different texts that will pop in and out of my video. I would like to be able to copy/paste then just change the text. This would save me a huge amount of time.

I know of no way to alphabetized the Adobe Styles that come with the program.
If you had the time and the inclination, you could rename them all to force them to appear alphabetically, but that does not seem all that practical.
But, if your interest is in the Styles that you save and you do not hit the Reset File List, the new Styles will be at the bottom of the list and you can name them so that they appear that alphabetically at the bottom of the whole Styles list. But that does not address the matter of you having to scroll to the bottom of the Styles list.
In some instances, some things that you think that you cannot do in Premiere Elements obvious features, can be done by computer keyboard shortcuts. I check the keyboard shortcuts under the Edit Menu/Keyboard Customization and unfortuately did not find any that would be applicable to this situation.
As for your changes in one text file popping up unwantedly in another text file, that is because you have text files with the same name. Look into creating duplicates (with different file names) in Project Assets at the onset.

I have tried to share passages from one of my books in iBooks 3 as shown on the latest Apple Keynote, but for some reason I can't figure how to do it, I highlight the passage I want to share but no share option comes up! Is this because I live in the UK and its all down to copyright?
