HT4059 my book will not load or open

My ibook will not load a book i purchased. It says "Failed to load book because the requested resource is missing".

I can't believe no one else is having this problem! I can load bookmarks that are backed up, but Safari will not sync the bookmarks. It claims to have successfully synced, but the added bookmaks that appear on .mac are not there. I just don't get it.

I have a problem similar to yours . I have bought a book and I was not experienced with the iBooks app , so I couldn't find the book I bought although it was already in my library I downloaded that same book again . Then once it started downloading it never started or stopped its only shadowed . I can only move the book around.

FontBook will not load or open some fonts

We have quite a few font files that FontBook simply will not recognise as fonts. When we double-click the font file FontBook launches, but the font's preview window never appears. If we drag the font into FontBook's list it never gets added. If we use FB's Open Font... command, locate the file and click Open, nothing happens after the dialogue disappears. If we copy the fint files to the /Library/Fonts or ~/Library/Fonts folder they never appear in FontBook even after logoff or a reboot.
Many of these are downloads that are billed as "Windows/MacOSX compatable" TrueType (.ttf) fonts but quite a few are Type 1 PostScript fonts from the early '90s that we never found again.
I suspect the TTF fonts are simply made to sloppy PC specs that FontBook will simply not give the time of day to, but does anyone know of a utility that will fix these - other than recreating them in something like Fontographer?
Hopefully this question will not show up twice in slightly different forms - Apple's Discussions appeared to go belly-up just after I hit the Post buton. Page not found, Page contains no data, etc in multiple browsers on both Mac & PC. I've re-created it as best as I remember.

It is possible that the fonts are corrupted.
Possible, but the TTFs in question were freshly downloaded and from several sites.
It is also possible that your Font Book is having
problems.
Then it's FontBoon on several Macs.
I have many ttf and old ps fonts and they work fine.
As do we.
Have you tried dragging them to the fonts folder in a
user's folder?
As I had mentioned in the question, we had tried them in the root Fonts folder and the users' Font folders.
What I had not mentioned is that the same holds true on different Macs.

Font book will not load

When I try to open font book I get the message that font book has quit unexpectedly and:
"Mac OS X and other applications are not affected.
Click Reopen to open the application again. Click Report to see more details or send a report to Apple."
The report information is long and complex.
When I open the font menu in a word processing program or outliner (such as OmniOutlinerPro) I get:
"Alert

I am not seriously held up by this non-functionality but it the fact that something doesn't work bothers me. I have seen nothing like this problem posted in discussions.
Any suggestions for a remedy?

One of your FontCollections has become corrupt.
Find the following files and move them to the Desktop to disable them:
/Users/~/Library/FontCollections/com.apple.Favorites.collection
/Users/~/Library/FontCollections/com.apple.Recents.collection
Then see if you still have the problem. (You may need to re-launch the application you were having problems in).
Font Collection files are stored as (keyed) archives, and NSCoder chokes on them when it can't understand the data in them.

Firefox will not load or open. ver 16.0? up date. running Win7 pro. Other Browsers OK - Chrome - Explorer

Firefox has stopped opening after an update. It worked the night before, and than, in the AM - no open or load - nothing. The other browsers work fine - Chrome and Explorer. I did a delete and reload - nothing, plus all the normal computer checking crap - still nothing. Whew??

A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

If I middle-click several links in row, some will not load and open home page instead, even with 16.0.2. Why?

This happens with regular sites from bookmarks or from another webpage listing links.
Middle clicking opens new tabs for each click and in some loads the clicked link and in other tabs opens google (home page)

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer. 
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. 
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

It sounds like your MacBook Air is only starting up to a blank screen with a spinning circle (also called a spinning gear).

Open iPhoto, and then go to Preferences (under iPhoto in the menu bar). Check these two things:
1. Under the "General" tab, make sure you have set "Email photos using" to "iPhoto".
2. Under the "Accounts" tab, be sure your email account information is set correctly.

Adobe Reader for iPad mini IOS 8.0 will not load???

Loaded, deleted, multiple times. Restarted iPad multiple times. Will not load. Opens with blank screen, stays blank forever.

Here are a couple of things that you could try.
If you have iCloud backup before the iOS 8.0.2, you can restore the content of your iPad. See iCloud - Backup - Apple Support
You can completely uninstall and reinstall Adobe Reader for iOS. Before you uninstall Reader, please be sure to make the backup of your PDF documents on your iPad. How to backup and restore PDF documents on your iPad/iPhone using iTunes
As a last resort, you could completely reset your iPad to factory settings. Go to Settings > General > Reset, and tap Erase All Content and Settings. Please note that you will lose all of your application data (including preferences) stored on your iPad if you do this. But you can download and install all of your free & paid apps again.
If none of the above works, it could be a hardware problem with your iPad. You may want to visit the Genius Bar at your nearby Apple Store.

When I compose an E-mail my address book will not open when I click on TO or CC, but it does work on other computers and also if I use explorer.

My address book will not show when I click on the TO or CC button, a mozilla page does open but there is no content. My E-mail accounts work fine on other computers. It also works fine on this computer if I use Explorer instead.

I installed a new wireless router on Tues. (May4) up until that time I had no problems using Firefox. Now I cannot get it to open on one computer, and the other it will open but will not load. Wondering if it has anything to do with the router, my provider or our computers. Again, it had been working fine. I am also unable to open interent explorer now on either computer.

Sounds like a problem with the router installation/configuration (likely) or a DOA router (very unlikely).
Visit the forums for the router manufacturer (i.e., linksys, d-link, etc.) and ask for assistance there. There is probably a link to help listed in the router manual.

The only Iceberg app I can find in the app store is a social networking app, not an e-reader. I don't see how you could buy books for it.
UPDATE: I see that it isn't available in the US app store. To contact the developer find it in your App Store and there will be a link to the developer's support site.

Remember: we cannot see your machine. There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 8 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Basic things like :
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For instance: 'iPhoto won't export' is best explained by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
- History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted?
- Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
- Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.
