HT4059 On recent purchases I cannot read the first several chapters due to an error message.

I downloaded several books from the iBooks store - when opening them I see an error message that says "This page contains the following errors: error on line 1 at column 1: Document is empty error on line 1 at column 1: encoding error below is a rendering of the page up to the first error." This is in a pink text box with nothing below it. and it says the same thing on the first several chapters. after this text box it is the actual book. What can be done to fix this so i can read the whole book?

Sorry if I wasn't clear, but I did already try saving the files to the hard disk.
"Both desktops have the same system fonts and I've tried saving the files locally."
My fix was copying the content of the files into new, blank .ai files. Those new files open from both offices now.
Still, I wish I could have identified the issue in case it happens again. The error message is vague and there isn't much info on the web about it.

Quit the iBooks app completely and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Or ....Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Or ... Delete the book and download it again in the purchased tab of the iBook Store, as long as you use the same Apple ID, there is no charge to download it again.

How to install InDesign CS6 from disk on a Windows 8.1 (64-bit) PC when installation fails after the first initialization of installation program, without error message?

I have a (legally purchased) disc with InDesign CS6 that I want to install on a PC with Windows 8.1 (64-bit). After I've double-clicked the Set-up.exe file on the disc, a box is displayed showing the progress of the initialization of the installation program. When the coloured bar in the box is full – indicating that this step is completed – the installation stops and nothing more happens. No error messages are displayed.
I can't find any useful instructions in the Adobe Help pages more than a note that there is support for also Windows 8.1 even though the system requirements printed on the disc box only lists Windows XP and Windows 7. I don't know how to make this work. Does anybody here have any suggestions? I'd be ever so grateful for any tips.

Just recently when I go to save a document as a pdf (Mac. OS X 10.5.8) (Print save as pdf ) I cannot open the saved pdf. I get an error message that the file is corrupt or there has been an error.

I use both aol and Yahoo for email - the problem appears in both. It does not happen in Word.
This computer is on a wireless home network, but the error mssg appears no matter where I save the PDF. This is not a problem in Safari.

I have updated to the lastest OS on my IPad3. No problem there. Then found I could no longer access my Itunes as there was a message 'Cannot be used as it requires version 10.6.3 or later. Go to ... and download'. I have tried four times and it won't work. I get another message saying I must sign in as administrator or contact my system administrator. Many thanks diesel. I cannot remember ever having an administrator password. Looks like I shall have to do a restore on my PC and not bother with the updates. Or maybe I could find my password from somewhere ? When I went into control panel I found a box with administrator and my name and it said password protected so I must have had one at some time. Any ideas on how I could find it ? Many thanks anyway. I always use a password to sign on but obviously that is not it. Eileen

Delete the downloaded book and re-download. It's possible it was corrupted during the download process. If that doesn't work...

I have an itunes gift card for $25 and I accidentally scratched it off too hard and i cannot read the numbers and letters

It says to scratch off the gray part on the back with a nickel, so I did. When I was scratching it off, I must of scratched too hard because I cannot read the first 5 letters and numbers...any suggestions?? Please HELP!

It is probably attached to the Forms module (see the library node in the navigator window).
In a general way, try to know where are youe design modules (*.pll, *.mmb, *.fmb), look at the FORMS_PATH variable to see what directories are part of this environment variable, compile every design time module to get the executable versions *.plx, *.mmx and *.fmx, then put these executable files in one of the directories pointed by the FORMS_PATH variable.

That error message suggest you have a permissions issue. Make sure you have full read/write privileges for the Drive/ Folder location that you are copying the files to.

The version of Lightroom I have is 4.0 (working w/Windows 7) This computer and all media files are kept off-line After doing more research, I downloaded DNG Converter 7.1This loaded into a .zip folder, which I am planning to install into the off-line computer andrun. Where does this folder go?
And will this set up work with my version of Lightroom?

Hello, I recently was sent a replacement iPhone 4 from apple. I originally had it assigned to a laptop with an older version of iTunes and everything worked fine. I recently purchased a new laptop and assigned the new laptop to my phone with the newest version of iTunes. Now everytime I hook up my phone to my new laptop I get the same error message. "iTunes cannot read the contents of the iPhone. Go to the Summary tab in iPhone preferences and click Restore to restore this iPhone to factory settings." Can anyone help, please!

Did you try following the instruction to restore? You are getting that message for a good reason - there is corrupted or altered data/settings on the phone. Is this phone jailbroken or hacked?

There is a few events where I could see this happening...
It's possible if you computer is not authorized with your iTunes Store account it may not have transfered your purchases from the iPad to the computer. To check, Open iTunes> Select the "Store" menu along top of the program and select Authorize this computer. Sign in with your AppleID and password, this will make sure your computer is authorized for the future so you can transfer purchases from your device.
