HT4059 Purchased book in wrong format through iBooks
I purchased a book on iBooks but once it downLoaded it said that it is formatted incorrectly and won't open. Can anyone tell me what is wrong and hiow to get the book to open?

Purchased book has horrid formatting
I recently purchased an obscure book from the iBook store, and I am very disappointed in the books's formatting. Sentences are broken in the middle, paragraphs aren't split properly, and bulleted lists look awful. To top it off, the book was rather expensive. Has anyone else had issues with the formatting of an iBook?

I downloaded a book. I realized it is not in English. Is there anything I can do?
Try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account (Store > View My Apple ID on iTunes 11) and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that book, click the arrow to the left of it, click the 'Report a Problem' button :
and then the 'Report a Problem' link on its line :
and select 'inadvertently purchased' as the problem and fill in the details (iTunes support should reply within, I think, about 24 hours).
Some people have had a problem with the 'report a problem' link (it's been taking people to this site on a browser instead of showing a form in iTunes) - if it does that to you then try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page. -
I purchased two graphic novels yesterday through iBooks. One downloaded the other did not. They BOTH show on my e-receipt. Why?
Yes, I think there is definitely something wrong with iTunes but I don't think it's happened this year - think it was the last update. If I purchase anything using either my iphone or ipad it doesn't download on my imac. Not every time just most. Also, some of my album artwork is messed up.

I purchased a book for my iPad through iBooks the cover of the book appears when I click on it a description appears but I am not able to open the book nor can I open the books I have previously purchased and when I hit the download arrow nothing happens
Sometimes simply restarting your iTunes, the computer and the iPad is all that it takes to correct an issue like this so try that. Quit iTunes, reboot your computer, and restart the iPad. Then try the sync again.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button. -

Mine does the same thing occasionally, is your phone jailbroken? Sometimes it will work if you delete the book and reinstall it or put your phone into airplane mode then turn it back off.

I just bought an iPad air and tried to purchase books in ibooks. After download and trying to open book I get the message "cannot open "storm front" it is formatted incorrectly, or is not a format that ibooks can open. I get the same message on my iPhone. What is up? Please help.

I am currently deployed over seas.. I recently purchased a book that im pretty stoked about. but when i open it in ibooks i get ( incorrectly formatted or not formatted for ibooks to recognize) the file is an .epub so i dont see how it could be a format issue.. I tried emailing apple but because of the situation they want me to call. I have very limited telecomminications at my location .. somebody please help
The Report a Problem link can also be found in iTunes/Store/View Account/Purchase History.
Before asking for a refund, also try deleting the book and redownloading it.
If you find that the iBookstore is does not meet your needs, you can try one of the others like Kindle, Nook, Kobo, Googlebooks, or Sony.

Books purchased through iBooks App missing on ipod touch 4 after updating to 5.0.1
I updated my ipod touch 4 to version 5.0.1 and now all of the books I purchased through iBooks are unable to load because "the requested resource is missing." When I go to Purchased items, it appears empty. But why I go to the Store to attempt to rebuy the book I was reading, it doesn't give me the option to purchase, stating that it has already been downloaded. Anyone else having a similar problem? Or better yet, does anyone have a solution or advice???? Thanks.

If you're stuck within an app or you've noticed a problem, simply hold both the home button and sleep/wake button at the same time. It's important to keep your fingers on these buttons until step 3.
After a few seconds the red ‘slide to power off' screen will appear, simply ignore this. Ensure your fingers are still holding down the home and sleep/wake switch.
Shortly after you should see the Apple logo, it's now safe to let go of the iPad's buttons. Your iPad should now boot, beware this process can take up to 15 minutes or so. -
How do I retrieve purchased books purchased through iBooks?
I recently bought a few books on my ipad only to find out my it won't charge, sync, or recognize the cord at all. No big deal, it's getting exchanged, but I can't sync the books just bought! How do I retrieve my stuff with the new ipad?
You didn't say what app you purchased them in, so I'm going to assume it's iBooks.
When you get the new iPad set up on the same iTunes account, just go to the store within iBooks and then select "Purchased" on the bottom right corner. To the best of my recollection, it will let you download previously purchased books. -

Note: Whether you set iBooks Sync Collections to ON or OFF, if you delete a book that you didn't purchase from the iBooks Store, the book can't be downloaded again from either your Purchased Books collection or by using the cloud icon. You might not be able to download previous purchases from the iBooks Store for a variety of reasons (including if your purchase was refunded).

HT4059 iBooks- how to purchase books?
Why can't I seem to access the iBookstore section that allows me to purchase books? So far I can only access the free downloads. They're great but there's a couple of new releases I'm hoping I could buy and read on my iPad instead of buying the paperback. Help!
What country are you in ? Some countries currently only have free books available (Apple can only sell content where the content providers grant them licenses to sell them). Have you got access to other ebook apps/stores e.g. Amazon/Kindle, Nook, Kobo etc ?

Downloaded ibook and got confirmation of the charge for the book. But it won't open. ??? Message is in title--wrong format or not readable by iBook, which isn't clear since it's an iBook book in the first place. My software is up to date too.
