HT4059 What is the largest iBook size I can author?

I am makeing my first iBook using Pages for my text. The book is just for my family and not for publication. What is the maximum size that I can convert to an iBook?

The largest capacity HDD that you can install is the HGST 1.5 TB HDD:

Any 2.5" 9.5mm thick SATA HDD will fit and operate in your MBP, regardless of capacity.
Ciao.

Those numbers are irrlelevant on an iDevice. They make sense for printing only. Use the size that best suites you.

  • What is the largest hard drive I can upgrade to for MacBook Pro A1278 Early '11

What is the largest hard drive I can upgrade to for macbook pro A1278 Early 2011?  I have seen 750GB on some websites, but I would like a 1TB  I am looking for SATA 6.0GB, 1TB 7200.  Is this dependant on the physical size of the hard drive? I have seen a height of 15mm and 9.5 mm.  How do I know what will fit??

I have not seen any 7200 rpm 1 TB HDDs.  They all are 5400 rpm.  I would say that this HDD comes closest to your requirements.  Tomorrow, there may be others.

20mb, but I would suggest leaving a little space. 15 is reliable.

  • What is the largest "manageable" size for a captivate project? (I think I've passed it)

    Problem:
It used to take perhaps 5 minutes for the Captivate software to open and the project to actually load. Now, Captivate loads (menu screen) but the project does not open - it just sits there. When I close the software it asks if I want to save changes to my project, as if it had opened.
    Background:
The captivate project that is roughly 260MB. This is after having copied and pasted all the slides to a new project to reduce the file size (several times) -- because of unexplainable ballooning of the file size. I am using a computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.35 GHZ processor with 4GB or RAM.
    Questions:
What is the largest manageable file size for a project?
Is there a limit to the number of slides a project can contain (i.e., 200)?
What can I do to get my project to actually open?
    Thanks!
    Dan

    Hi there
Normally we advise that a Captivate project should fall into somewhere between 50-65 slides as a general upper limit. Occasionally reaching as high as 100 to *MAYBE* 120 slides. Depending on a number of factors.

  • What is the largest hard drive that can be put in a Macbook Pro 17 MA897

I am looking to upgrade an existing Macbook Pro 17 model MA897 and am looking for the specifications as to the largest hard drive that can be installed and where is the best place to purchase drives.

The HDD makers have yet to breach the 1TB limit in the 2.5" formfactor. But there is hope, as one of the makers (Toshiba, IIRC) announced the discovery of a radical new way of magnetic encoding which will permit much denser packing of the magnetic domains in the rotating disk, and much higher capacities. Promised to come out with 3-4TB 2.5" devices before the year is out and maybe 10TB+ in the coming years. We'll have to wait and see.
BTW and since The Age of the Lion (and probably Mountain Lion too) has forsaken the need of an optical drive for system recovery, some users have decided to remove the no longer critical device and planting another HDD in its place. Might be looking into if you really need the capacity and don't care to lug even more weight above of what the 17" entails.

  • What is the biggest DB size SQLserver can handle ?

    Experts:
We are going to start SAP projects for terabyte DBs.
What is the maximum DB size SQLserver(2005, 2008) can handle without serious performance issue?
    Thanks a lot!

    Hi,
we run multiple SAP systems  beyond 1 TB (biggest around 12 TB) without any performance issues. Performance is not directly related to the size of the DB but on how you distribute the data (I/O capacity). Important factors are number of data files, type of storage (SAN, NAS,...), number of spindels, number of users, proper indexing and so on. Also, your DB server hardware should be able to process the data delivered by the storage system (CPU + RAM).
The size of the DB ist not the important performance factor but the underlying hardware.

    Sven

  • 2008 15" MacBook Pro, what is the largest hard drive I can get?

I want to know what is the largest hard drive I an get:
    5400rpm: GB
    7200rpm: GB
    Where can I purchase them.
    Happy Father's Day,
    Sebastian

    I think the current answers are;
    200 GB for 7200 RPM
    500 GB for 5400 RMP
    I looked at;
[Other World Computing 2.5 SATA Drives|http://eshop.macsales.com/Search/Search.cfm?Ne=5000&Ntt=2.5harddrive&Ntk=Primary&Ns=P_Price%7c0&N=6892]

  • What is the maximum File Size we can send

    Hi Experts,
I have done simple scenario file to file without IR.
I have one doubt here, what is maximum file size (Text and XML)we can transfer from source to target ftps.
    text file = file size?
    xml file = file size?
    Thanks for inputs.
    Bhaskar

There is no limit to the message size (file size) that can be transfered.....the only thing required is that your server should have the necessary configuration (hardware) to handle a file of a particlar size.
this question is actually asked a couple of times and in there people have even mentioned the transfer of files in 1GB ...  so it all depends on your Hardware.
    Regards,
    Abhishek.

  • What is the maximum file size I can import to Quicktime Pro 7?

I have some clips that are 2-3 GB in size. Can I import these into Quicktime Pro 7 and edit them? For example cut them in half so each reduced file size half can be opened in other software that has a 2 GB limit?
Also, can I save a Quicktime file as MPEG-4?
    Thank you!

If the files are in a format that QuickTime understands then there really isn't a file size limit.
QuickTime Player Pro can export most formats that it can open to MPEG-4 codec formats.

  • What is the largest hard drive I can put into my time capsule?

I bought my 1TB Time Capsule  in Oct, 2010, Part #MC343AM/A, and it is now just about full. I am looking at options for upgrading it, including a Stardom Safe Capsule with several TB of storage. Ideally I would like a single drive with 3-4TB of storage on it. Can I put a 3TB drive in my Time Capsule as it is? I run Lion on all the Macs at home, although my daughters (who backup when they visit) run Snow Leopard.

If you google you will find the 3TB does not go well in series 3 TC you listed. Ironically it does seem to work ok in series 1. But as you buy a different drive you really may find it difficult. Normally you can fit the largest drive Apple fitted, if you find one of the ones they used.. eg series 3 will take 2TB. Otherwise look carefully for other people's experience.
In the end trying to use Stardom is highly NOT recommended. USB storage is slower than acceptable. Connected to the TC usb speeds are half that connected directly to your PC.
Please read the review for the very latest TC and see carefully the speed to USB.

For several TB buy a proper NAS.. the TC is not a NAS, it is an external wireless backup device intended particularly for Mac Laptops. Sure it can be used for other things, but in the main .. that is the intended use.
For several TB buy a proper NAS, QNAP, Synology, etc. which have proper backup and raid designs.. all missing from the TC.

  • What is the max Data size that can be converted to PDF using CR 2008 SP5

    Hi All,
When I supply more data to convert to PDF using XML data source I get exception on converting the stream
    Exception :
Error generating PDF. Exception:Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
       at CrystalDecisions.ReportSource.EromReportSourceBase.ExportToStream(ExportRequestContext reqContext)
       at CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.FormatEngine.ExportToStream(ExportRequestContext reqContext)
       at CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument.ExportToStream(ExportOptions options)
       at CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument.ExportToStream(ExportFormatType formatType)
But it works with smaller size like 50-60K of data.
I searched about the exception and the results were mentioning about wrong placement of runtimes.
But my doubt is if the problem is with runtimes then why it works with less data?
    Thanks.

    Version of CR (be precise...)?
    Version of .NET?
    OS?
Is this on your dev computer or after you deploy the app?
Add code used in the app please.

  • What is the max form size you can distribute in Acrobat 9 Pro?

    Hello Everyone,
I am using Acrobat 9 Pro to create a survery form that needs to be distributed out to several people.  The form basically is a bunch of radio buttons that answer questions.  There will be well over 200 radio button groups in the 4 page document.  Is there a limit in acrobat for how many form fields you can have?
I just wanted to make sure before I took on the laborious task of creating the form.
Thanks for any help its greatly appreciated.
    Radio Reta

Thanks for the input Try67.  I just found out how many form fields they wanted the other day.  Hopefully its ok but if now we will have to go another route.
