When I try to access my purchased books in iBooks, I get a message that says "Cannot connect to iTunes Store." However, if I go into iTunes, I can connect right up. Why will it not let me see my purchased books in iBooks?

I'm having a similar problem...but mine results from an OS upgrade from 10.6.4 to 10.8.5.
Where did you access a clean copy of Java SE 6? The link at adobe for archicval plug-ins is a dead download (and it doesn't appear to contain Java SE 6.).

If you are trying to do a wifi update, make sure you have a good signal, plug in to make sure you have adequate power. Try updating through iTunes on your computer.

Import them to your computer as discussed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083, then either delete them from your phone or exclude the camera roll from your iCloud backup by going to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage, tap the name of your phone under Backups, then turn Camera Roll to Off under Backup Options.
Also check Settings>General>Usage to see how much availble space is on your phone. If you have to delete apps in order to take photos, you may be out of space on your phone. If so, you need to delete something in order to create more space.

My son just got a new I Pod Touch for X-mas and it has been working just fine untill the other day when we started getting the message "cannot connect to itunes"...This happens when i try to go into both I Tunes and Safari. I dont know how to fix this especially if it might erase all the music and games he has put on it. If someone out there can help me it would be greatly appreciated.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on the router
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

When I try to use Duplicate in pages I get a message that says I don;t have permission to access "Autosave information".

I can not get Duplicate to work in Pages. The Message I get states" Unsaved pages Document,pages"couldn't be moved because you don't have permission to access :Autosave Information." I have gone to "get Info"and I have premission to read & write, I have run disk utility and repaired premissions. I have run AppleJack and still get these messages. How can I correct this problem?

When I've had a similar problem, it was because I was accessing the iTunes store from a device I hadn't used before, such as when I upgraded from an iPad 1 to the iPad 2. It was a little confusing to me until I figured it out.
All I had to do was use the ID of my existing account and play along with the iTunes store. As I recall, it asked for my password twice, and the security code from the back of my credit card. After that, downloads proceeded as before.

Thunderbird stopped downloading emails from the web server and now when I try to add a new account I get a message to say it cannot find the email server.

Thunderbird was working and then for no reason it stopped downloading emails from the web server. I can access my emails in the web server okay. I have tried to remove my account and then add it again as a new account but I get a message saying that Thunderbird cannot find the email server. I have also tried to uninstall and reinstall Thunderbird but with the same result. I have also tried to remove the default mail server but have been unable to do so. How can I fix this?

I figured out a workaround.... Since I can get e-mails to populate via iSync and my other computer is running Leopard (it's a powerpc chip and can't run Snow Leopard), I added the account on the other computer and got the new account to populate into my SL machine with iSync. I don't like that I can't actually add the account directly, but at least this got me working.

You probably need to confirm the security code of your CC. Log into your account an input this, even if it's already there.

It was under hotmail before they updated it. This is what it said when I tried a different one the pop server IMAP mail.outlook.com is not responding check ur network connection and that u have entered the correct information in the incoming mail server. Hi, thanks for the suggestion. I have tried as you suggested, and when opening the "purchased" apps some have the icloud logo next to them, but I only have "OPEN" against "Find My iPhone". When opening it up, it goes through the same routine; needs to be updated before proceeding, and wouldn't update because I don't have IOS8.
Anything else I could try, or am I doomed!

It sounds like the cellular data will not activate for some reason on the iPad.
I found this article that will help you resolve this issue here, named iPad (Wi-Fi + Cellular Models): Troubleshooting a cellular data connection, found here http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4249
Check for a carrier settings update.
Update your iPad.
Toggle the Cellular Data setting off and on under Settings > Cellular Data.
Restart your iPad.
Tap Settings > General > About. Locate the Carrier entry and make sure that your carrier is correct.
If your SIM card has SIM PIN enabled, try turning it off: Tap Settings > Cellular Data > SIM PIN.
Make sure you're in an area of good coverage. If the cellular data connection works in another area, contact your carrier to report the original affected area.
Reset network settings: Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Restore the iPad as new.
If none of the above steps resolves the issue, make an appointment at an Apple Retail Store, contact your carrier, or contact AppleCare to troubleshoot further.
I know you may have done one or two of the steps here, so you can skip those.
