HT4060 Where on the iPad mini do I plug in the power cord?

I just bought a new iPad mini and need to recharge the battery.  But I don't see where on the iPad to plug in the power cord.  The power cord has the same male connector as my iPhone 4.  Help!

Use the cable that came with the iPad mini, not with your iPhone. Different connectors.

This is an iPad user to user forum. Apple doesn't read or respond. We have no way to know what and when Apple will do something. You'll have to wait for an announcement by Apple.

I use this app. It takes a photo and turns it into a PDF (the photo that you take with your iPad/iPod)

Does the iPad mini retina camera app have the panorama feature?

Panorama is only available for iPhone 4S and later, not iPad mini. Instead, you can do panorama photos with applications from the App Store

  • Are there any problems using the Ipad while is is plugged into the wall and charging?

Are there any contraindications using the Ipad while it is plugged into the wall and charging???

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • Can you add 3g to the ipad mini later if you purchase the non cellular model?

I am interested in buying an ipad mini but I'm not sure whether to get the ipad mini with cellular data. So does anyone know if I can add the 3g later to the ipad mini if I purchase the non cellular model?
    Thanks,

No you can't, and the ipad mini is 4g LTE. It doesn't come with the hardware to enable cellular if you don't buy one with cellular

  • I was thinking of buying my wife an ipad mini. I already have an ipad, ipod and iphone working on itunes on my PC. Will the ipad mini work along with all the others?

    Hello,
I was thinking of getting my wife an ipad mini. I use a PC with Windows 7, latest version of itunes installed. From this I have an ipad, ipod and iphone, all of which work perfectly. My question is will the ipad mini also work and be recognised as another device?
Can I put some of my existing Apps onto the mini?
    Thanks in advance.

Sure, but only if the new iGadget is "married" to the rest by virtue of having the same AppleID. You will be able to back up, update and upgrade its contents, apps and iOS on the iTunes application on the PC.
However, if it shares the same AppleID as the rest of your toys, she will be able to read your mail and see your messages, which could eventually lead to battles royal on who said what to whom. So beware, you have been warned.

  • Does the Ipad mini w/ retina display offer the ability to have microsoft office installed?

Can the ipad mini have the ability to have microsoft office installed? Looking at possibly purchasing one for school.

There are a number of apps that are compatible with Office documents. As UK-Max said, Apple makes iOS versions of their own iWork apps (Pages, Keynote, Numbers) which will be free with the purchase any new iPad; they can be purchased separately for older iPads. There are also 3rd party combined suites that cost less than the separate Apple apps. Ones often recommended include Documents 2 Go,  Quickoffice and Office2 HD.
If you can accept needing a network connection whenever you want to use the apps and have an Office 365 subscription, Microsoft has just released their Office Mobile app, though it has significant limitations. Or a server-based solution such as CloudOn might be an option for you.
    Regards.

  • Can the heat generated within the iPad mini w/ Retina Display damage the iPad?

My iPad mini with retina display gets hot while charging or multitasking or using it for 5-6 continuous hours. It has a TPU material cover on it and sometimes the heat can be felt on the cover. So, if it keeps on heating like this is there a possibility of damaging my iPad? And also can you please tell me the maximum no. Of continuous hours I can use my iPad. Can 5-6 hours of continuous playback damage the. iPad ?

The ipad has heat sensors in it.
If the iPad reaches a certain temp, it will shut down to avoid damage.

  • Which should I buy, the iPad mini with retina display or the iPad Air?

I Was thinking of buying an iPad but I'm not to sure which one to buy. They both have good reviews and they both look good but from anybody else's point of view which one would be better to buy?
    help?
    thankyou.

Depends upon what you will be using it for. If you expect to be doing a lot of on-screen typing then the larger iPad with the larger screen/keyboard may be better, if one of the main uses will be as an ebook reader then the smaller-lighter Mini might be better. I don't know what country that you are in but in the US the Mini is $100 cheaper, which could be used for a cases, apps, music etc
Do you have a local store that has both in so that you can try both ?

  • I can't set up a rocketmail (yahoo) e mail account on the ipad mini. Works fine with the iPhone 4s

I have reset passwords. The e mail address is correct, the server details match that on the iPhone. I have even created an iCloud e mail address. All with no success. I would appreciate. Simple how to resolve the issue. Thank you.

I had exactly the same problem when I was trying to set up the Rocketmail account as an 'other' account. When I changed to setting it up as a 'yahoo' account it now works. Hope it works for you too.

  • Any best practices for the iPad mini????

I am in the beginning stages of designing my mag for the iPad.... now the iPad mini seems to be all the hype and the latest news states that the mini may out sell the larger one.
So... I know that the dimensions are 1x1 on bumping down to the smaller screen... but what about font sizes? what about the experience? Anyone already ahead of the game?
I have my own answers to these questions, but any one out there have some best practice advice or links to some articles they find informative...

I think 18-pt body text is fine for the iPad 2 but too small for the iPad mini. Obviously, it depends on your design and which font you're using, but it seems like a good idea to bump up the font size a couple points to account for the smaller screen.
For the same reason, be careful with small buttons and small tap areas.
I've also noticed that for whatever reason, MSOs and scrollable frames in PNG/JPG articles look great on the iPad 2 but look slightly more pixelated on the iPad Mini. It might just be my imagination.
Make sure that you test your design on the Mini.

  • Why does my iPad mini refuse to connect to the shared network connection from my mac mini?

Sometimes it works, most of the time it just sits there "searching" with the little wheel just spinning away. I've tried resetting the network settings under the "General" tab as well as "forget this network" and have no password set, and still I get spinning. iPad Mini and Mac Mini are both up to date with software and have no current updates available. The iPad is only a couple of feet away from the Mac without anything but air between them. I have tried turning of wi-fi on iPad and back on again as well as turning off sharing and back on again and every combination I could think of and it's still spinning. I thought buying all apple products would make things easier to configure but that was totally WRONG.

I managed to get the connection back! I renamed the network under "Wi Fi Options" from the "Sharing" screen and told the iPad Mini to forget the network. I then restarted BOTH the iPad and the Mac Minis at the SAME TIME. When they finished restarting the iPad Mini saw and connected to the new network almost immediately.

  • HT5457 would i be better off getting the ipad mini or the ipad 2 upgraded to ios6

I want an IPAD that is fast and good for education, so I want to know if getting the IPAD mini is better then getting the IPAD 2 upgraded to IOS6 ,and witch one would I be better off getting.

The iPad mini is basically a smaller iPad 2. However, there are a few differences.
