HT4061 Anyone unable to power phone on after latest update today?

I just did the latest update when the message popped p on my phone today, and now my phone will do nothing.  When I hold the round button down it beeps, but won't do anything else.

I'm having the same "Unable to read the SIM card" issue. My phone is less than two months old, the unable to read SIM card issue started about a week after I purchased the phone. That was followed by a host of erratic, sporadic issues to the phone becomes unusable and the only way to temporarily fix it is to remove the battery for a few seconds.  I've gone through the factory reset with Verizon reps where I purchased the phone from as well as with a Verizon online Chat representative. In a nutshell, I got a ticket to send the phone back to Samsung in Plano, Texas to get the phone fixed, I am going to do that today because this problem is ridiculous.

  • Anyone have trouble with phone crashing after Facebook update today?

After pressing the update button for the Facebook app this morning, I set the phone down.  A few minutes later I picked it up and the phone didn't work at all.  It's as if there is no power to the phone.   The screen is black.  I can't get it to power on.  It doesn't register when the phone is plugged in to charge.  Nothing.  Dead.  Help.  Please!

Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)

  • Why after latest update today my firefox always see GIF files as MP4? Any idea to revert it?

Right click on GIF image shows "save video as.." no choice to save image as.. there is a "save snapshot as " choice, but no gif file type can be chosen. anyone know how to fix this? before update it worked greatly...

Try to rename (or delete) the mimeTypes.rdf file in the Firefox profile folder to reset all file actions.

  • Unable to read SIM card after latest update

I downloaded the most recent android update on my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 on 12/10.  Since that update, i've gotten the message "Unable to read the SIM card.  Please restart your phone to read the card" a half-dozen times.  The timing between the messages is sparatic (one time it was a few hours between messages, another time a full day, then 12 hours the third time, etc...).
Is anyone else experiencing this issue?  Is there a simple fix to this (such as just getting a new SIM card from Verizon)?  I'd like to think that the update wasn't the culprit of this, but I've had my Note 4 since the initial release, and it's only started happening since the last update.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

  • Unable to set printer name after latest update.

I updated my airport extreme with the 7.4.1 updater and now am unable to configure a printer name for my USB connected Canon MP530 with the airport utility. The printer name field in Airport Utiliuty comes up blank, and the secondary device (FAX) has a name. The print queue ends up being named "Canon MP530 FAX - 1" If I set a name for the printer and reload, it is gone on startup. Looks like a bug in the new firmware. Anyone else see this problem?

Picture texts won't send/receive over wi-fi, you have to use your cellular connection.
You might try sending yourself a picture text from your phone; that sometimes helps resolve the issue.

  • Phone Inoperable after latest Update

Sunday I updated my 3g to the latest software version when prompted by iTunes. The phone was functioning ok, but yesterday I was having some data issues through one of the apps (Facebook). I deleted the FB app to reinstall it, but when I went into the app store to re-download it, it was indicating that it was already installed. I rebooted the phone in hopes that it would recognize the app as being gone, but the phone got to the shut down stage in the reboot and will not turn back on. Any ideas on how to get it back up and running???

    Hi,
Try restoring the iPhone from recovery mode, as shown here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808.

  • After latest update (today), Firefox continually crashes. How can I uninstall this latest update? Tried creating new profiles and they also crash.

Firefox worked earlier today (August 19, 2013 about 6:30 pm EDT). When I opened Firefix after 9pm EDT, Firefox attempted to perform an update. No error was given, but now Firefox will not start. Running a Windows 8 machine with all updates and current security software with no known malware on my system.
When I try to start Firefox, the system shows the "working" circle, but then nothing. I created a new profile, and got Firefox to start, but whenever I try to go to any website, Firefox crashes.

  • ITunes running super slow after latest update, today.

I just updated my software on iTunes and suddenly it's running super slooooooow!
It takes about 2 to 4 minutes to open.
New computer. Running Windows 7. It's not my computer. I promise.
iTunes was super fast until I just updated the software, this morning.
Plus, now it doesn't recognize my iPhone 4.
All of other programs are still running at lightening speed.
So, any suggestions? I'm expecting my new iPhone 4s, today and really don't want to have any issues going in.
    This is very frustrating!
    Thanks!

    Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

  • Degraded performance after latest update (today)...

I upgraded the following packages below on my Dell Latitude E5510 and have had decreased visual performance since.  I went to 2.6.37 and also upgraded the xf86-intel-video.  Compiz is much slower now.  Also interesting when I'm looking at the gnome system monitor on the resources tab my cpu spikes to 50% until I close or change the tab.
Also as mentioned in other posts, kworker is near the top of my powertop top wakeups, along with i915, so 2.3.37 didn't fix it for me.
Is there any other information I can provide?

After uploading our phones with the latest update, we have noticed that the battery life has deminished considerably.  I now have to charge my phone overnight and two or three times a day. Prior to the update, my battery life lasted me at least a full day.  We have several phones in our office and the ones that have updated (4) now have issue holding a charge/battery life. I really liked this phone and can not believe that you are now going to charge us $79 a battery to fix what is most definately a problem with your latest update.  I know other people outside of our company that are having the same problem. Not to mention when I called AT&T it was confirmed to me that they are hearing the same issue and then some from other customers as well.  Your own people, once I talked to them earlier today, told me they are showing a history of issues that are showing up after the update was put in place. Of course she tried to say, "Maybe the age of the battery and the update both contributed".  Whatever.
I want you all to know how disappointed I am in your company for the handling of this issue.  I always thought "Apple" was the line I didn't have to worry about having any types of issue. And that you all would stand behined your product 100%. Now I am not so sure.
I would love to hear back from your company on how you perceive the issue with all of these phones that prior to the update didn't have any issues and how after the update THEY ARE NOW having issues.  I do not believe this was an issue due to the age of a battery and that was pretty lame to say so.  It was fine and now its not.
Please feel free to contact me and help me figure out a way to pay for all of the batteries that will be needed for our company to contiue doing business as needed.
    Thank you.
