HT4061 connecting to wi-fi

My new ipad 3 wi-fi bought in NY will not connect to my bt home hub. The hub is functional : I am using it now with my Macbook. BT have failed to identify the problem but if I pay £30 upfront their technical personnel will try to help by 'phone. I used the ipad this morning in the Apple store in Meadowhall and it connected to their wi-fi. Can anyone help? I resent paying money upfront for a service which may or may not solve the problem.

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
