When I try to request a free Windows 7 upgrade, Lenovo's form requests a serial number. I click on the link to the instructions on how to find the s/n and follow them. The serial number contains both letters and digits. However, the form complains that the s/n must contain only digits. What's up ?

Does it begin with 1057? If not, it's a redemption code. In which case, see here:

Apple will never reveal that info to you, since you were not the originally purchaser. However, you can get the date of sale by entering the SN here:

Warranty starts on the date of sale, which is most likely the date of activation, but not necessarily so.

It means, unfortunately, you were scammed. The phone you have was replaced under warranty, or an out of warranty exchange. It should have been returned to Apple, but wasn't. Instead, it was fixed & sold to you.

Ok so I've bought a second 5Dmk2 for my Wedding photography, now the time sync is out by 1 hour on each camera, summer time and none summer time..
I know how to change this in the meta data, but my problem has a bit more to it, the file numbers also over lap, i.e i have two versions of img_8990 from both cameras, and meany of these...
So all the pic's are out of order, and the numbers are quite jumbled up too
What I would like to do, is sort by camera serial number, change the time on one set of images, then arrange by time, the rename the files...
So the question is, can/how do you arrange by camera serial number..?

You cannot sort by serial number, but you can separate your images by serial number:
I suggest to create a smart album for each camera:
File -> New -> Smart Album
Then add a rule: Serial number contains
Do this for each of your cameras, and then use "Metadata -> Batch Change -> Adjust Time Zone" for each of the separate smart albums for each of your cameras.

I hope there are guys here that can figure this out. I think there's a way to know if it uses a LOTES socket just by looking at the serial number

The "601" will usually be the same in all serial numbers. "7581" is, of course, the model number and "010" is the ERP-Number, which will be the same for each exemplar of the same mainboard type/model.
If there is a production date encoded in the serial number (which I am not sure of), it has to be part of this sequence:

Perhaps we can get some users to share this kind of information, so that on the long run, we will be able to say if there is a relation between serial numbers, production date and Socket Type (and not just random use of different sockets).

T530 Serial Number?

I just recieved my T530 and am trying to fill out my warranty info, but can't seem to find my machine's serial number. Is it located on the laptop? Mine doesn't contain any stickers anywhere underneath... Should it? Is there a way to get the machine serial number in windows or during boot?

Have you taken a look in the battery compartment? Some time ago they started putting the Windows COA stickers there, maybe now also the s/n sticker?
The s/n is also on the box and can be seen in BIOS, press F1 at boot, as the system unit serial number. The first 7 digits/letters are the type and model number, the last 7 are the s/n.
Please DO NOT post your s/n in the forums.

Have tried all the ways suggested and still cannot find out how to get the serial number...tried the one on the reciept from the store and the space would not allow all of it....help

Do you really mean PSE 2? If you have a serial number it will be 24 digits beginning with 1057, but I think some bundled versions of PSE 2 didn't have a serial number--it's been a long time so I couldn't swear to that.

How can I find out the intended serial number to install elements 13 if the number on the disk sleeve gets rejected?

the installation routine says the serial number is on the sleeve and should be 24 symbols of letters and numbers, but the number there doesn't match 24 symbols and it gives me a wrong number rejection window. I'll have to get a refund for this software purchase if Adobe can't get me registered with some kind of service. Is that what I should do?

I have on the sleeve an 8 digit number starting with 8 underneath is block of mainly letters that start with PEPE but don't fit
