I have an iPhone and my friend cannot receive texts , but my wife can, both have an android phone

It is a problem with the other android phone. You may have to reset the android phone. If that doesnt work try looking on an android forum and see what their soltions are.

  • Android phone not recieving text messages from iPhone

Hello. I am actually a current android user. I have the LG Optimus F6. My friend though has the iPhone 5s.
I have never owned a iPhone, this is actually my first phone I have ever owned.
Though I am in a bit of a problem as a lot of, but not all of the text messages that she sends to me I never recieve, it shows on her iPhone the green message as it is sent but I never received them.
I am trying to look for a solution to this if anyone could help. Thank you

I Believe this is because your friend is sending iMessages ask them to resend an older text as SMS instead to see if this works. Hope it helps

  • Bluetooth no longer works android phone to MacBook Pro

I have been transferring files to/from my Huawei H811C (android v. 4.0.4.) and my MacBook Pro via bluetooth without any problems....until today.
I recently updated the MacBook Pro to OS X 10.9.2, but I'm pretty sure I have transferred files since then, so I don't think it's that.
The devices recognize each other, the phone tries to send, but the Mac never gives me that popup menu asking if I want to accept files.
    Any suggestions?  Thanks!!
P.S.  I was able to transfer FROM the Mac to the phone, but not the other way around.

  • Android phones not sending new contacts to GW

What are the default folders that should be set to syncing to the phones? I didn't see anything in the docs, but I could have easily missed that. It used to be that (GWmobile 2 & 3 I think) wanted a folder called "Unfiled" where it sent any contacts created on the phone that were not put into a folder. That doesn't work, with Android at least.
What it does do, is very strange.
    0. You have two phones hooked into the same email account. In my case, an Epic & a Hero (both Sprint).
    1. Let's say you have two folders set to sync - Unfiled (legacy) and Contacts (because the program seems to want a folder named "Contacts" - if you don't have one it will frequently rename your first syncing folder as "Contacts" on the phone side).
    2. You add a new contact, but are unable to put the contact into a folder (the Sprint Epic, for example, does not allow you to change the folders that Exchange contacts are assigned to evidently - I just received a test model and this "feature" is driving me crazy).
    3. The contact will show up on the other phone, but not in either of the syncing folders in your Groupwise address book. What? Crazy right? No - it's in Frequent Contacts!
    4. Even though you don't have Frequent Contacts set to sync... the contact created on your phone is syncing "via" Frequent Contacts (while the rest of your Frequent Contacts are, thankfully, NOT syncing).
I'm guessing that Groupwise by default sets contacts with no "folder" attribute to show in Frequent Contacts... or something?
Anyway. What am I doing wrong here?
Note: I just verified that it does not matter what folder you put the contacts in (the Hero lets you file them), they still show up in Frequent Contacts and sync to the other phone mostly in the correct folder ("none" on the Hero -> "Not Assigned" on the Epic, "Contacts"->"Contacts" and "Unfiled"->does not sync !?!?).

    >> 1. Let's say you have two folders set to sync - Unfiled (legacy) and
    >> Contacts (because the program seems to want a folder named "Contacts"
    >> - if you don't have one it will frequently rename your first syncing
    >> folder as "Contacts" on the phone side).
    >Need to clarify this. In the GW client, you have a contacts "tab".
    >This is mapped to one of your PABs, the FC by default. When you click
    >on the contacts tab you'll see on the left a tree displayed with the
    >main PAB for the contacts tab listed at the top of the hierarchy, with
    >all your other PABs appearing below it. SOAP exposes the top of this
    >"tree" as /Contacts, which is why you see /Contacts in the Mobility
    >connector with all your other PABs underneath (e.g. /Contacts/Unfiled,
    >/Contacts/Personal, etc). So you don't need to create any sort of PAB
    >called contacts. If you do, it will simply be displayed as
    >/Contacts/Contacts. Or, worse yet, I don't know what would happen if
    >you created a PAB called Contacts and then tried to edit the Contacts
    >tab to map to this Contacts PAB.
I skipped some clarification as well. There is another bug, one which I cannot reproduce predictably, but that I have seen a dozen times or so, where the first contact folder you have set to sync (regardless of the name, I've had it happen to "A Architects", "Consultants", "Unfiled", etc.) gets renamed to "Contacts" when sent to the phone. Had this happen on Android & WinMo devices. The original book in GW is fine, but the folder/book on the phone has the label "Contacts".
Sorry about that - I was referring to the phone and not the tree on Mobility.
    >> 2. You add a new contact, but are unable to put the contact into a

    >This is definitely a device issue. On my Incredible I can specify the
    >"group" for an Exchange contacts, where each group on the device is a
    >GW PAB.
Well, as I said, I can assign folders on the Hero, but they still don't go to the right place in GW - and they sometimes go to the right place on another phone (they go to Frequent Contacts in GW, or sometimes nowhere). I guess the device could be assigning them in a way not supported by GW? I'm not sure, the ones that get sent down show up exactly like the new ones I create.
    >Yes, default behavior. Novell has an entry in their Bugzilla system to
    >change this. Not sure when that will happen, though. IMO, Mobility
    >should act just like GMS and create its own "Unfiled" PAB for new
    >contacts created which aren't assigned a group/category on the device
    >and sync to that rather than syncing to the FC.
Seriously. Do people actually use the FC folder? No one here does - it gets filled up with junk so fast it would a) render a phone much less useful and b) seems like it would waste a bunch more server cpu time & disk space with the extra syncing.
    >You may wish to submit an enhancement request on this one, and
    >reference bug 590962 in your ER. The more people that request this,
    >the higher the priority for the bug.
OK, I'll have to look into that. I'm new to this whole Novell "support" arena, as this server (& GMS2-3) are the only Novell products I'm responsible for.
Thanks for the feedback! Is there somewhere that Novell at least has a "known issues" section, or a "features coming in next patch"? I've searched around this site (and googled the net in general) and no luck yet.
In the mean time, I'll just keep my fingers crossed for patches and continually apologize to my users and reset their phones and contacts on a weekly basis. Which is tons of fun.

  • No keys working but phone not damaged?

Hi wondering if anyones come across this problem.
Phone switches on and the scroll button thing works for moving around but thats it no buttons work at all so I can't do a factory reset or anything like that.
The phone is a BB curve 8520
Any help would be good cheers...

You can call tech support on another phone. What carrier do you have? How long have you had your phone (maybe under warranty)? I have seen other support forums address this issue. Look at Crackberry.com. Have you tried another known good battery?

  • Camera not working, and phone not restarting.

My camera screen pops up, then when I go to take a picture or video, it just goes back to my home screen. And when I go to shut the phone off or restart it, the "goodbye" screen doesn't go away. Even after 40 minutes of sitting there. Pulled the battery and let it sit for a couple minutes and still the same thing.

If it's doing that even after a battery pull then it's likely that the phone has suffered some form of software corruption or hardware failure.
I suggest you contact the retailer or a Nokia care centre. www.nokia.com/repair

  • Lightroom 4.4, but still crash on import with connected Android phone not fixed

    So when?

I've got the same experience, but with a simple Nokia 3270 phone connected over bluetooth. Only tested on LR4.3.

  • Can I use an Android phone without a data plan?

Please read all of this before responding. You will not be helping when you show a clear misunderstanding of my question.
I do not need a data plan. Everywhere I go has Wi-Fi, and I am perfectly content to not have internet connectivity in the event that I don't have Wi-Fi. What I want to know is if I can buy a phone from a store (not from Verizon or a contract renewal) and replace my current phone with it without needing a data plan. There is NO software/hardware reason why I couldn't, and the only reason I would need to is as a Verizon requirement.
As an additional question, if Verizon doesn't allow it, is there any workaround?
I want an android phone not to have ubiquitous connection to social media. I want an android phone to have platform to run software on in addition to making/receiving calls and text messages. I would not utilize a data plan and it would be a waste of money.
    Additional info:
Can I use an Android phone that I buy from a retailer on my Verizon plan without adding data? There's no hardware or software reason why I need a data plan, and there IS a point to having a smart phone without a data plan: Wi-Fi. I don't need to have redundant internet access.  The only reason conceivable for why I'd need a data plan is because Verizon wants more money for no additional service (I wouldn't USE connectivity provided by a data plan). I don't want to have a mobile platform for running software and a phone filling my pockets, I'd like it to be in one. All the connectivity I need is for calls and text messaging.

    I stand corrected!
Here's an article on the subject with a good discussion and a somewhat dodgy suggestion for non-Verizon service: http://news.cnet.com/8301-1035_3-57555091-94/can-you-ditch-your-smartphone-data-plan-for-wi-fi/.
Here's a discussion on a T-Mobile forum laying out the options (as of last November): http://support.t-mobile.com/message/198200. It sounds like it would meet one of the OP's desires: "Can I use an Android phone that I buy from a retailer on my Verizon plan without adding data?" Not on Verizon, but probably on T-Mobile.

  • HT6355 Can you send an audio message to a Android phone and will they be able to lisen to it?

Just wondering if I will be able to send audio messages to friends with Android phones.

Not with the Messages app. The option will only appear if you are messaging another iOS user. There may be other apps that will let you do that cross platform. Check the App Store.

  • My Contracted SIM is for an android phone, but when i put the sim in an iphone my 3g no longer works?..

My Contracted SIM is for an android phone, but when i put the sim in an iphone my 3g no longer works?.. Is it because my 3g is only active on the android os and not the ios platform? Texts, Calls and Wifi work fine but the 3g doesn't work. My phone only shows 'GPRS' in the top left corner. Also I get a message come up saying "Could not activate mobile data network. You are not subscribed to a mobile data service".
    Any advice would be great.

Hi hexonxonx, I'm on o2. Thanks for your advice. You are right. All I had to do was change one of my APN settings to mobile.o2.co.uk and reboot my phone and this sorted it out straight away! Thanks again. Much appreciated . I was thinking I was going to have to go back to an android phone to use my 3g again but this eliminated that need. Thanks.

  • The file to download the app for Android is not working from my phone--it says that the file isn't there. However it does see the one for the Iphone (even though it can't use it). I'm very computer literate and am pretty sure the problem is on your end.

The file to download the app for Android is not working from my phone--it says that the file isn't there. However it does see the one for the Iphone (even though it can't use it). I've tried it multiple times and continue to get the same message: "NOT FOUND The requested item could not be found". I also tried through the Market application on the phone but ended-up with the same result.
I'm very computer literate and am pretty sure the problem is on your end. If this is the case then no one can download the app. I considered that perhaps because it's still in Beta that it was removed due to some other type of software issue. I would really like to use Firefox on my new Droid (2.0); when with this be available?

Firefox will not appear in the Market for most phones with incompatible hardware. You can check if your phone is supported here:
    https://wiki.mozilla.org/Mobile/Platforms/Android
Even on some supported devices, a bug in the Market software prevents Firefox from showing up. This may be related to the fairly recent Android Market app update. If you go to Settings/Applications/Market and choose "Uninstall" you can uninstall the update, and then search for and install Firefox from the marketplace.
Or, if you have a supported phone, you can download the app directly by typing this address into your phone's browser: http://bit.ly/fxbeta3
(Note: To download the app directly for an AT&T phone, you will have to search for instructions on "sideloading" the APK file, since AT&T disables the option to install from non-Market sources.)

  • I just hooked up Internet at my house today and I'm trying to connect to it on my IPhone and IPad but neither are connecting. My grandma's Android phone is connected and is working just fine. Why isn't any of my apple products working?

Since you give no clue as to what make/model/version WiFi router you are using or how you have it configured it's hard to comment.
