The serial number has nothing to do with this.
YOur phone is in recovery mode.
You will need access to a computer with itunes on it to restore your phone.

Running an old MacBook Pro 2.5ghz core 2 Duo. Battery went chemical meltdown and expanded out of its housing. Removed it and was running off the power cord. This worked for a while. The icloud back-up message on my ipad will not go away after touching the screen "OK" button. Tried shutting-off ipad by depressing and holding the black button on left side of device and the "Lock screen" msg pops up, but the whole screen seems FROZEN.!!!.. Neither buttons work.!!..

HT1359 it says you must connect the power cord so the battery will never work on its own?

what are the steps in Apple Configurator iPad restore? It appears to me that Configurator repeats steps, but it probably is that I don't know what happens and when.
If you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then you can get a clue to what it is, and potentially use it, by going to https://appleid.apple.com/ and clicking 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account. Then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you should see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.
If you don't have, or don't want to use, your rescue email address (you won't be able to add/change it until you can answer 2 of your questions) then you will need to contact iTunes Support or Apple to get them reset (which will be by phone as they need to verify your id - we are fellow users here on these forums).
e.g. you can try contacting iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Account Management , and then 'Forgotten Apple ID security questions'
or try ringing Apple in your country and ask to talk to the Accounts Security Team : http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57

MacBook Pro just shut down without notice. It had about 40% of the battery life. It will not turn back on and I noticed when plugged in the little light on the power cord is blinking orange, not a solid green like normal. Anyone have this issue before? I've only had this for about 3mos. I called apple support. They tried one thing then said I have to take to the apple store. Unfortunately I don't have one nearby. I keep getting "Unable to connect" for my firefox. It was working yesterday and I turned my computer off. I can get to the web using internet explorer 9. I don't know why my firefox is not working. Everything else is working.
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

No sound today. Maybe because I turned the sound off on a free game app yesterday but now don't know which one and probably deleted the app.
It's pamonvashon again (the person who posted the question). I fixed it so I'll tell you how in case it happens to you. I was correct. I went back and re downloaded the game, "Virble". At the beginning of the game o I used the buttons on the side of the phone to turn the sound off and on and the sound came on! A miracle! So beware of VIRBLE!!!

Try to backup and restore you device in itunes...restoring the device is like removing the iOS software off the device and re-add in a newer software, after you have restore you device, MAKE SURE YOU SET UP YOUR DEVICE LIKE A NEW DEVICE, DONT NOT RESTORE FROM BACKUP!!... give the device a chance to use the newer software and see if the issue still persisting, if the issue still on going then its would be a hardware issue.
Call Apple Care and see if your device is still under warranty to get it replace -
I have a IPhone 5 and Iphone 5s, each phone is activited with a different service provider. Both are set up with the same account ID and running IOS 8.0.2. When the phones are connected to the same Wifi at home, both phones will ring when someone call in to one of the phone. Hence you do not know exactly which line the caller called. If you answered using the wrong phone, then anyone calling the other number will not get through. Anyway to solve this problem?

Thanks for the question. It sounds like your devices are set up to use continuity together. Specifically, it sounds like you are signed into the same Apple ID in FaceTime, and have iPhone Cellular Calls enabled. To resolve your issue, simply disable this setting:

For no known reason, my Ipad 2 crashed. I turned it on one day and it acts like it's new. It says "setup new ipad" or restore using icloud or itunes. I don't know which to do because I don't want to lose what I had on my ipad and I don't know if I had icloud setup or not.
You don't have any choice. You will have to set the iPad up all over again now. Take a guess and pick one or the other and hope. You will be able to download most of your paid content again for free.

I am trying to download apps but all that happens is the icon appears with a "waiting" underneath it. Updates do the same and so I am not able to download anything. I have rebooted the iPad this hasn't helped. I am able to sync the iPad with my PC and this updates everything. I would however not have to do this constantly. Any ideas on how to solve this download issue.

My grandson played with my 4th generation iPod touch and the phone icon and contacts icon are gone. I have gone to settings and done the "reset all settings" and "reset home screen layout" with no success. I also did a hard reset. No luck. I can get to my apps through the search screen but no icons.Help?
