YOur phone is in recovery mode.

My iPhone 4s is stuck on a black screen that shows a USB cable connecting to iTunes. The phone will not turn on and the iTunes logo as I described only shows up when I plug the phone into the charger or my computer. I have tried the reset in restore mode as well as the DFU? mode and it still will not work. I have the latest version of iTunes on my Mac. My error code was 2002. I also tried it on my laptop (windows 8.1) and none of the above worked. My error code on my laptop was 02. The phone is through Verizon and it has absolutely no damage. I am unsure of what version the phone was currently running on before this because I have another iphone that's my primary phone and have not used this one in about a month. I do not believe it was updated to IOS 7.
Your iPhone is in recoverty mode at the moment so to possibly get it back up and running you would need to do a restore as you have been trying. Follow the steps in the article below for the specific error messages you have been receiving. If after following all steps the issue remains book an appointment at a local Apple Retail Store to have the iPhone evaluated.

When researching, I read that you will get an option to restore from back up. I am not receiving any options on iTunes.... restore only & basically it is telling me I will lose everything.

Try a Hard Reset.....
Press and hold the Wake / Sleep button AND the Home button at the same time, keep them both pressed until the Apple Logo appears on the screen, it can take 10 or more seconds. Ignore the swipe to turn off message. -

If the screen is showing you the USB wire pointing to iTunes it is telling you it has entered the recovery mode, and you have to use the instructions in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808 to connect to iTunes. In summary:

Try a Hard Reset,
press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

I have a n IPhone 4S. I upgraded to IOS7 and then tried tp go back to my prevous IOS and now my phone will not turn on at all.
I tried to do the same, but couldn't find ios 6. I even tried the APPstore, to download the last IOS6 version.
The most problem is the running out of the battery.
I've checked each app who is "eating" the most power.
The battery stoped runaway, when I closed the weather service....
So for now, I will use regular internet service, and probbaly will do to more app.
Until, finaly, I will find my self with all the applications closed....:-)
That will be the sign, to replace my phone to anderoid....:-)
Till now, there is no any sign from Apple to have a glance to our complanes. -

Take it to your local Apple Store and have the genius take a look. If it won't respond at all, it sounds like a hardware failure.

The screen to my phone will not turn on at all. I could hear the sound it makes when I do press on the home button. But the screen is not and will not respond and turn on. I plugged it in the charger to see if it'll do anything, but that didnt do anything. So I plugged it in the charger to my computer and even that didnt help with the situation. I know its probably fried and I need it repaired but is there any possible way I would be able to save the information that was on it. Pictures or videos? Most of my pictures were saved on my i Cloud, but some information had not been uploaded like my videos.
