HT4061 Stolen iPad + stolen MacBook Pro with iTunes
Hi!
My iPad has been stolen together with MacBook Pro (which had link with iPad in iTunes).
Unfortunatelly, FindMyPhone shows offline for both devices.
Police requires IMEI of the iPad in order to try to find usages of the iPad.
How can I get it? I don't see neither serial number nor IMEI in iCloud.
P.S. The iPad had been connected to iCloud, activated FindMyPhone (airplane mode that time). So Apple should know both Serial and IMEI.

But I cannot obtain IMEI... Police requires IMEI to detect location of the device when it's turned on.

Barry, the other stolen computer, my IMac does not show me a locked on such and such date, but simply says offline. I set that computer to erase when it goes online and notify me when it is found, and to play a tone and play a message that the police are on their way!

If you had set up Find My Mac on your MacBook before it was stolen, go to http://www.icloud.com and log in, then press Find My <Something> there.
If you did not set up Find My Mac, it's too late now. You cannot track it. -

When syncing the iPhone and iPad with iTunes on your computer that is logged in with the Apple ID you plan on using on all three, the Apple ID should be transferred to the iPhone and iPad for the iTunes & App Stores on each device. If not, you'll need to sign out of the existing Apple ID on the iPhone and iPad followed by signing in with the Apple ID you want to use on both.
Keep in mind that all 3rd party apps include DRM protection which is tied to the iTunes account or Apple ID that was used to download the apps. With an app installed on your iPad and iPhone that was downloaded with a different Apple ID from the one you will be using now, you will need to use that Apple ID and password to install app updates for those apps. Not possible to transfer apps purchased with one Apple ID to another or to merge Apple IDs. -
My wife and I both have the iphone and we use my macbook pro with iTunes to sync our ipods. When I do something on my iPhone it shows on hers. How do I set up her a seperate iTunes acct on my mac so she can operate independent of me?
There's info here on setting up separate libraries and user accounts. You won't have to reload (or re-import) all the music, just copy it.
The reason I suggest separate accounts on the Mac is because if you have the two libraries under the same user account, iTunes will also open the last library that was open in that account, and you'll always have to be mindful of which library that is. If you open iTunes and find it's not your library, you'll have quit, relaunch holding the option key and select the other library.
No, you won't have to log in and out of the Mac. (If I'm understanding your question here.) Multiple accounts can be logged in at the same time. And with fast user switching, you can toggle between user accounts.
I'll admit that maintaining the two libraries gets a little tricky, because if you share all the same music, you'll have to add it to one and update the other. (That won't happen automatically.) But I think Home Sharing makes this much easier to do.

Only one song won't play after authorizing my computer. I authorized it over and over. I even deauthorized all computers, and still same results. How can I fix this ? I'm using a MacBook Pro with iTunes 11

Deauthorizing all is definitely the way to go. You will just need to authorize your computer again after, as well as your husband's.

I have left my bag inside taxi with my MacBook Pro with Retina Display 15 inches inside and therefore how will I track my Mac back. I also have serial number, part number, and model number of my MacBook Pro with me and I have on iCloud on my MacBook Pro.

Can't import purchased music from iPad to MacBook Pro's iTunes
I bought and downloaded classical music albums to my MacBook Pro's iTunes. They have also apparently been automatically synced onto my iPad's iTunes. Then I purchased and downloaded successfully four classical albums to iPad's iTunes. But when I manually synced the iPad's iTunes with the Mac's iTunes, only one of the four paid albums was fully transferred so it can be played from the MacBook Pro's iTunes. The other three albums only show notices in Mac Book Pro's iTunes that they are "purchased", but there are no digital files that can produce sound. How can I get the digital music files of these purchased albums to be downloaded onto the MacBook Pro's iTunes so they can be played there?
Yes you can. Connect your iPad to your computer, open iTunes, select your device on the left side, right click on the name of your iPad and you can select transfer purchases.
You must authorize your computer as well in iTunes from the menu at the top under Store.

Since purchasing a new iPhone 5 and macbook pro with retina display I have decided to keep the iPhone 5 for phone contacts only, and the macbook for email contacts only .. Is there a way for me to keep these as they are recorded on each apple product when I sync with iTunes as it has changed my iPhone and put in email contacts and thus deleted iPhone phone contacts once when I syncd thanks appreciate any help
To prevent your iPhone from automatically syncing when you plug it in, click on iTunes in the menu bar, then preferences, then "devices", then tick "prevent iPhones, iPad's and iPod's from syncing automatically".
Plug it in, then on the iPhone sync summary screen, click "info" along the top.
Make sure the "sync contacts" option is not ticked. as long as it's not ticked, then it won't sync with your mac's contacts but will still include them in backups.
Also, if you use iCloud, make sure that the iPhone/mac are either not signed into the same account, or that "contacts" is not turned on for both of them -
I'm signed up to the Cloud and itunes match - the whole game. But I cam getting annoyed with having to delete songs one by one on my iPhone once dowloaded from the cloud as I only have a 16GB phone....yes I listen to music non-stop! So, I am thinking about getting an iPAD as I rarely use my MacBook Pro for anything other than surfing and music now... so the question is: "On an iPad with iTunes, do you know if you can edit/delete all your tunes on your device with a "clear all" button rather than having to delete a song one by one like you have to do on an iPhone (if not synching via a MacBook/ PC with iTunes account where I know you can clear down and refill with ease)????

I rented Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Extended Version) tonight, because I'm taking my family to Universal's Wizarding World of Harry Potter tomorrow. This is the kind of event that can't happen just any ol' day; it's expensive, a big deal for everyone, and we were very excited to watch the first HP movie tonight to help set the tone for our getaway. 44 minutes into the movie, it froze, just before the "sorting hat" comes to life. Boy were the kids dissappointed. And the parents. Ugh.
I have a 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5 13" Macbook Pro with 8GB of memory, running OS X vs.10.6.8 with iTunes 10.5.2. I have rented movies many times from the iTunes Store without issue on this computer and also another. Once upon a time, I rented the HD version of a movie and it wouldn't play. I recieved a refund, and rented the non-HD version and it played without flaw, although it wasn't until the following day. In this case, tomorrow is too late, Apple.

And is this the end of the world? No. However, I must say how dissappointed and irritated I am about this, and here is why: I can't believe that SO MANY people have this same exact problem--it's posted all over the internet--yet every thread I've seen has NO SOLUTION, and no responses from Apple employees. If the answer is out there somewhere, which I certainly don't doubt, how about making it a little EASIER TO FIND? From what I have read, this is a problem that has been occuring for years now.
We have been devout Apple customers--computers, iphones, ipods, ipads, itunes purchases out the wazoo--I'm a big supporter of the whole kit and kaboodle. I really regret not having simply rented this movie from Comcast on demand tonight, though. It was the same price. In fact, I would do that right now, however it's well past the kids bedtime. Honestly, I'm seeing myself using the iTunes Store as a last resort to rent a movie from now on. After you've gotten involved in a movie, it kind of ruins the mood when it stops playing, even if you do have the time to fiddle around troubleshooting or wait a day or two for a response.If your HDTV is HDCP compliant, you probably will have no problems. But you might want to read this information which while written a while back still, to the best of my knowledge, applies:

HDCP compliance is, from what I've read, rather a "rubber ruler" so even if your TV lists as being HDCP, it might or might not work correctly with your Mac. Testing with one movie first might avoid an expensive surprise.
As to your complaint to Apple, it probably wasn't up to Apple but instead was forced on them as part of the conditions by the content owners for licensing movies and shows to the iTunes Store. But feel free to comment to Apple via their feedback pages:

Cannot get iPad 2 charged beyond 1%. All charging ports tried: AC adapter(s), USB 2 port on MacBook Pro. ITunes shows iPad only for a few seconds. iPad displays alternately: Apple logo, battery w/slim red band, then battery w/1% charged information. How can I get it to charge beyond 1% so I can proceed to troubleshoot?
I have had your exact problem with my old 3GS, now I cannot even get it to turn on, I still see that it is supposed to be charging though, but it never charges any so it seems.
I replaced the Lower Dock Connector Assembly back when it still charged while hooked to my PC, and it found it made no real difference.

Does the iPad and iBooks only sync in iCloud for purchases as I appear to be doing something wrong. I could sync ok when books was in iTunes but since migrating to Mavericks I think I'm doing something wrong!!

So, as noted, my Macbook Pro had been stolen like 3 or 4 months ago. I had the device connected on Find my iPhone via icloud.com
When my device was stolen, I immediately went on icloud.com and selected "Play a sound" and other options that were available. But the problem was, the device was not connected to the internet. So I went on with time, bought myself a new Macbook Pro and forgot about that one a little... But today, I got a mail from Find my iPhone, that a sound was played on that stolen Macbook Pro. Now I went quickly on icloud, but the device was no longer on my list, so someone probably reset it. Is there anything I could to, to at least get to know the location of it when the sound played or maybe it's current location? Thank you for your help!My iMac was stolen 2 weeks ago and I just got the same emails, one that a sound played on it and another that it is locked.
According to the Find my iPhone app, shouldn't you be able to see the location for 24 hours, even if they went offline again? My device is still showing on my list, just offline. Now I have less than 24 hours to figure out why I can't see the last location...
