HT4061 where did my pictures in iCloud go?

Where did my pictures in icloud go?

How did you get them there?  icloud does not store photos except for those in camera roll included in a backup and those in photo stream.

  • Where did the iPhoto 10 iCloud Photostream come from and how do I get rid of it?

I just updated my MacBook Air to mavericks.  I have an iPad and iphone as well just updated to ios7.  My Mac updated iPhoto as well.  Now when I opened iPhoto I got my flickr and Facebook integrated folders in the left pane plus an iCloud photostream.
I didn't have that before and it has 287 pictures pulled from many devices but I didn't set that up.  I only had/have a private photostream with a particular name and about 10 pics in it.  this new one is just called iCloud photostream and it has 287 pics of which some I know I took with my iPad and others with my iphone.  I of course sync both devices with my Mac so this pics are in my iPhoto library as well.
Where did the iPhoto 10 iCloud Photostream come from and how do I get rid of it?

In the iPhoto preferences turn PhotoStream off

  • HT204053 Where are my pictures on ICLOUD???

so, when i open icloud, there are contacts and find my phone and iwork and WHERE ARE MY PICTURES???

The only pictures currently stored in iCloud are in Photo Stream, accessible from Photos on the iPhone, or iPhoto on a Mac.

Where are my pictures on my cloud?

You can't veiw photo stream photos on icloud.com if that's where you are looking.  You can only see them on iOS devices/computers that are signed into your account with my photo stream enabled.
If you want to see them on the web, add them to a shared stream with the public website option enabled (see http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mmc0cd7e99).  This will give you a private url to view them on the web from your computer browser.

  • Ahh! Where did My Pictures go!?

I tried to get the folder "My Pictures" which contains ALL of my pictures and sub folders etc etc onto my Desktop by Dragging the "My Pictures" Icon from the Finder onto the Desktop and then a little DUST smoke thing appeared and now I can't find it!!
Where did it go? I'm panicking! I can't lose all my pictures...and it definitely couldn't be that easy to lose them all?
I'm sure there is a simple solution but I'm completely lost...where has it gone?

I have no idea where it went but I went to GraphicConverter and tried to see if the folder actually did in fact disappear off the face of the Earth but it was there and I just had to go to Users then I found it, made a duplicate of the folder and moved it to my Desktop and back to the normal place in the Finder.
I honestly don't know what that was all about, though! It really scared me haha.

  • Where are the pictures in icloud on my mac?

How do I access the pictures in icloud from my mac?

If you mean your Photostream, you access it via iPhoto.

  • Where did my pictures go?

I recently downloaded all of my pictures to my iPhone 5S. Obviously a big mistake since it ate up most of the memory in my phone. I was going to delete them on the phone and just turn off the photo sync in iTunes but when I hooked up the iPhone to a computer and tried to look at the photos just as data in the internal storage only photos from the iPhone photo stream are showing. The multiple folders and thousands of pictures that are on my iPhone are not showing in any photo folder in Windows Explorer. Where are they?

Yes but where are the pictures??? They are on the phone so when internal storage is brought up I should have access and visibility to all those pictures just like the iPhone is a flash drive data stick. An iPhone is a horrible device to manage a lot of photos. What if I didn't want to delete all of them I just wanted to delete say 1000 out of the 20,000 pictures I have right now on my iPhone. You would never want to do that touching each one on the screen of the iPhone. The best way to do it is access on the computer and manage that way. On my 4S I could hook up and access the files and view all photos on a laptop for better management. How do I do that now? Thanks!

  • Where did my picture go?

    Hi,
Im still a beginner regarding Aperture. I wanted to post some of my pictures from an album on FB and decided to flag some pictures in the first screening process. Under Metadata it says the key-command for flag is "/". I used the /-button that is located on the calculator side (or whatever you call it) of the keyboard. Press the button and a "x" came up on the lower left side of the picture….no flag on top. I switched to the next picture but when i switched back the x-marked picture was gone. Where has it gone?
It's not in the trash and not among the flagged pictures. What have I done wrong?
    Thanx
    Jonatan, Sweden

Hi Jonatan.  Welcome to Aperture and the Aperture Discussions.
What you did (without wanting to) was press "9".  (It is possible -- please confirm this -- that pressing / on the numeric keypad on your keyboard using the language you have set on you computer sends the command equal to "9", but I find that unlikely.)
"9" equals "reject".  Read up in the User Manual about what this means.  In short, the rating system has seven levels: rejected, unrated, and one through five.  Rejected images remain in their Project, but by default they are not shown.  Use the view Filter or Search drop-down to show rejected images.  Using the Search drop-down, change 'Unrated or better" to "Rejected" and you should see your image.  Select it, and then change the rating to something other than "Rejected".
Note that the rating system is separate from the image deleting system.  "Rejected" is a rating.  Deleting an image sends it to the Aperture Trash.  (Trash has its own quirks, but we'll save that for later.)

  • Archive and Install... or ... Where did my pictures go?

Ok, so I had to total brain malfunction and did a Archive and Install when I did the last OS update. So now my user account is gone and hiding inside the "previous system" folder. I'd really like to retrieve iPhoto albums, pictures, books, events, etc. Is it possible?
    Thanks!
    John

Next time select the option to preserve User and internet settings (I think that's what it's called). This will keep your account intact so you don't have to retrieve it from the Previous System folder.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • Question--where did my pictures go?

Alright, I know at the beginning of every month, a new album is made for the month previously, but I'm missing a large amount of my pictures. Where the heck did they go??

Sync is how all media gets onto, and is removed from, your Zune player or Zune-enabled phone. When you sync your Zune device with your computer, the Zune software updates your player or phone with any changes you’ve made to your collection, adding or removing content according to the sync options you choose. With Zune, you control exactly what syncs from your Zune collection to your device.
Zune automatically syncs all items of a particular media type in your collection with your player or phone (provided there's enough room on your device).  If there is not enough space older information is deleted.
Copy and paste the link below into your browsers address bar for more information.

  • My iPhoto library has disappeared and there is no past library for me to import. Where did my pictures go?

I was cleaning up my laptop last night to free up some space. I deleted some unessecary pictures from iphoto and re-organised my events. I then deleted some pictures from 'images' which shows up in 'all my files' - I didn't delete any of the pictures that I kept in my iphoto, but not all my pictures showed up in 'images' anyway. I also then deleted the pictures that were loose in the 'pictures' folder but these were all edits I had done in photoshop not the originals. I emptied my trash before I went to sleep and this morning when I turned on my laptop my iphoto library was gone and there was no past library to import so I had to create a new one. Although I have the pictures from my 'images' folder not all of my pictures are there. Have I lost my pictures for good?

No previous backup?  When you opened iPhoto did you get any error messages?  iPhoto normally stores the images inside /Machintosh HD/Users/YOURNAME/Pictures/iPhoto Library you won't be able to simply look at the images if you go there directly you have to open it with iPhoto.  You can hold the option key > then open iPhoto to make sure you didn't somehow create a different library.

  • HT4859 where are my pictures in icloud back up?

I backed up my ipad yesterday to icloud. today I got a message to install update for itunes.  I installed, ipad froze.  I had to restore ipad on itunes.  now I cannot locate my pictures and videos on my icloud.

    Hey carbella76,
Backed up information should include pictures and videos. You'll want to restore your iPad from the backup you made by following the directions below:
iOS: How to back up and restore your content
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766
When you go through Setup Assistant on a new device using iOS 5 or later, choose "Restore from iCloud Backup" and enter your iCloud account and password. You will see the three most recent backups for each of the devices on which you enabled Backup. Choose from which backup to restore.
If the home screen icons appear on your device and you wish to restore from an iCloud backup, erase your device (by going to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings). When prompted to set up as new or to restore from previous backup, select Restore from iCloud Backup. Enter your AppleID and password when prompted.
After your device restarts, your settings and accounts are restored and Backup starts downloading your purchased music, TV shows, apps, books, Camera Roll, and other content*. For best battery performance, leave your device connected to a power source until the restore is complete. You may be prompted to enter the passwords for all accounts enabled on your device.
A progress bar will appear underneath the apps that are being downloaded. To prioritize the restore of a specific app, tap its icon. Restore will attempt to download the same version of the app that you had installed previously. If that version is no longer available, the latest version of the app will be restored.
To check if the restore is complete, go to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup.
    Best,
    David

  • Where did my picture folders go?

I thought this went too smoothly. I just transferred all my files via firewire from to my new MacBook Pro from my two year old PowerBook G4. All the dated (year, month, date) pictures folders have disappeared. All the pictures show up in iPhoto -- although a little jumbled --- but there are no folders showing in the finder.
(I discovered this when I went to attach a photo to an email in Mail.)
Where are they? Help. Thanks in advance.

    Jane
There's actually no need whatever for the hack now:
There are three ways (at least) to get files from the iPhoto Window.
    1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
    2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
    3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.
To upload to MySpace or any site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. If you're using Gmail you can use THIS
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser. Or, if you want to access the files with iPhoto not running, then create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use THIS
Also, for 10.5 users: If you use the extended Open or Attach dialogue (with Column View) you can scroll to the bottom of the Shortcuts and find the Media browser there. Select any pic you want from there.
You can set Photoshop (or any image editor)as an external editor in iPhoto. (Preferences -> General -> Edit Photo: Choose from the Drop Down Menu.) This way, when you double click a pic to edit in iPhoto it will open automatically in Photoshop or your Image Editor, and when you save it it's sent back to iPhoto automatically.
    Regards
    TD
