HT4095 Can't find rented movie on my ipad

I just rented a movie from iTunes store. I can't find where it downloaded to! It's not in purchased or downloaded section...but I watched the download status for a while. Frustrated.

It should be in the Videos app (iTunes on the iPad is just the iTunes store) :

Can I watch rented movies in my ipad 2 without internet connection?

If you use iTunes to rent movies, then yes.
iTunes movies downloaded and stored directly to your iPad and if you don't start playing a movie, stay on your iPad for 30 days.
If you start to play a downloaded, rented movie on your iPad, then it will expire in 24 hours.
Other services, like Amazon, Netflix and Hulu need an Internet connection to stream their content.

  • I can't find rented movies on my Ipad

I rented a few movies to take on vacation from iTunes.  I understand how to transfer them to my ipad using the "move" option.  Now that I have them moved I can't find them on my iPad.  I tried searching for them and still didn't find them.  HELP....I leave tomorrow and need something to watch on the plane!  Thanks!

I finally figured it  out -- it IS the Video App as someone succintly observed --  but to answer the question what video app are we talking about -- for those of us who have not knowingly downloaded a video before and wouldnt know this also includes movies -- it's the APPLE app that comes pre loaded on your device.  It is a blue icon with the blk & white stripe banner at top representing a director's clip board.  Go in there after movie is downloaded & transferred to the device you want to watch it on.  I never saw this mentioned in any Help or tutorial -- perhaps its a no brainer :)  Hope this helps at least one person to not lose so many hours figuring it out.  7/10/12

  • We have purchased a movie on Apple TV (2) and its taking too long to load, so we want to watch movie on Itunes on the computer but can't find rented movies on the MAC

We have purchased a movie via Apple TV (2) and its taking too long to load, so we want to watch movie on Itunes on the computer but can't find rented movies on the MAC iTunes

Movies rented on Apple TV aren't transferable to another device. If its taking awhile to load then its an issue with your network.
What is your speed via speedtest.net
    1080p requires 8mbps
    720p needs 6mbps
You can change to SD in settings
Interference can cause issues, verify via istumbler or netstumbler
Should be using ISPs DNS (settings - network - DNS should be automatic)

  • HT1657 Where do I find rented movies on the iPad?  It is not in downloads.  I received an email with the invoice amount so I have been charged for it, I just cannot find it on the iPad.

Where do I find rented movies on the iPad?

If you can't find the movie you downloaded on your iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch, check inside your Videos App

  • HT1657 can i watch rented movies on my ipad with no wifi? Like on a plane trip?

can i watch rented movies on my ipad with no wifi? Like on a plane trip?

Yes. although you do occasionally hear about people having problems.  If your trip is less than 24 hours, it might be a good idea to start the movie while you're connected to WiFi (which will start the rental clock ticking) and pause it.  You're not supposed to have to do this, but some people swear it prevents the occasional glitch.  I've only rented a couple of movies and they worked find on the plane.

  • HT1657 Can i play rented movies on my ipad being offline?

Can i play rented movies on my ipad being offline?

The answer appears to be "maybe". Once the rental has completely downloaded it shouldn't need an Internet connection from then on, but I've seen reports here from people who tried the play the rental and has it insist on an Internet connection. I've never been able to spot any common factor between such reports to form an opinion as to why this happens, though it's possible that the movie hadn't really completely downloaded. But I'd advise not presuming that an Internet connection won't be necessary.
Someone else here may have better insight into the issue.
    Regards.

  • TS4526 Can't find rented movies from iTunes store

Rented a movie on Saturday from my Apple TV.  I checked downloads from settings and when I did this, the wheel just kept on turning.  Tried this multiple times.  I even waited 1 hour.  Changed my setting to regular definiton so that it would download faster. Still no results.  Where can I find the movie.   My acct was charged since I received an email stating that I had purchased this movie.
Now what? I can't seem to contact the Itunes store to ask them?
    Thank you for any help
    Izzy

I'm guessing you've given up by now or found it yourself but I just had this problem with my iPad and Macbook Air. If you go into iTunes, navigate to the library, then toggle the upper left window to 'Movies' instead of 'Music', the center menu should change to a handful of movie-related choices.  The first option is 'Rented' and that's where I found my rental.

  • Can I watch rented movies on my ipad on an airplane?

About to take a very long flight and want to watch some rented movies on my ipad - I just read somewhere online that I can't do this without a wifi connection on the airplane - is this true? How can I do this? Thank you.

Thanks for your responses - maybe I didn't put the question exactly right. I know that I need to be connected to download, but I've heard that you need an internet connection to watch the downloaded films so that Apple can start the clock on the rental. I've read a lot of stuff online that suggests that to watch rentals on an airplane you've got to start the film on the ground where you've got a connection and start the clock. This seems like a crazy work around for what must be a pretty popular activity for an ipad.
I've looked at the Apple FAQ and haven't found any clear answers to this question. Can anyone clarify this one? Thanks again.

  • Can't find rented movie on Apple TV

I rented a movie using iTunes and can't find where to play it on Apple TV (2nd Gen)
Downloaded recent firmware upgrade last night.
    Can anyone help?

Yeah that makes sense.  When I would access "computers" through settings that's what it would tell me.
So I checked out the link and maybe I'm utterly lost, but I don't see it helping my situation.
I click on the "computers" icon and it tells me to turn on homesharing.  So I turn on homesharing in itunes, then go back to appletv and click on the "computers" icon again and it tells me the same thing.  I'm not seeing anything in the link that helps with that.  Am I missing something here?

Itunes hasn't recognized anything.   HELP me!! what do I do. I"ve logged out of itunes, restarted my imac, signed back in... uplugged the Apple tv, plugged it back in. still nothing.  It's apple tv 1st generation.

Disregard...I found it.  It was in Computers|Rentals.

  • TS3623 Can't find rented movie on apple tv

I downloaded two rentals to my itunes account on my computer.  I'd like to watch them on our television with our appletv.  I can't find the rental.  Homesharing is turned on, the internet strength is fine.  all of my music shows up on the tv, including the movies I've purchased, but I can't find my rentals.
    Thanks for any help

  • Can't find rented movies that I tranferred to iPad

I transferred four rentals from iTunes to my iPad (iOS 6.1.3) and they all show up ready to play in the Videos app of the iPad.  However, I decided I wanted to move a couple of them back so I could watch them on my Apple TV at home.  Only one of the four transferred movies shows up in iTunes as resident in the iPad.  I can move that one back but the other three are not visible to move under Movies in iTunes.  Where did they go and how can I transfer them off of the iPad.
None of the movies has been started yet and they all have about 15 days to go before expiration.

  • Can't find rented movies on ipad

They were there when I downloaded. I verified movies were working. Got on plane and it stopped working. Ipad froze, blue screen flash.
Then after return to factory settings, ipad is back and working but rentals are gone. No rental section in Video app.
I tried restore from prior save, no change.
If I try to rent again iTunes tries to charge me again.
    Help!!

Did you restore the iPad?  As in deleted everything? If so the rtentals were deleted with the restore.
Not sure you can get the rentals back.
Can you seem them in the Purchased App?
If not you will need to to talk to iTunes Support to see if you can get them back.  Not sure why you would restore to factory defaults. A soft reset could not bring back the iPad?
