HT4097 My iPad takes one day to turn on?
I relized my iPad is really slow and almost no apps load becuase the apps keep crashing. So ,I thought a restart would help. Think again! The iPad took one day to turn back on and is really slo, still. I tried to restore it but it won't restart. Should I wait out the day for it to work??? I need HELP!!!
Maybe you should try restoring using recovery mode now.

I´ve installed my TC and did OK inital back up in muy MC Book. But It´s taking so long to do inital back up in my IMAC OS Xv10.6.8.
It back up only 25GB in one day.Are you using wireless?
Is the TC link to the computer direct.. ie are you using wireless network on the TC direct to the computer.. or are you double hopping via another router or some extender.
We highly recommend people do the initial backup with ethernet.. this might require you to move the TC to the computer and do it in isolation from the network.. but that is fine.. turn off wireless.. that slows it down when you use ethernet.. it should do around 60GB/hr. -
Numbers Application Freezing 2 IPads in One day??
Numbers has caused two different I Pads I have purchased in one day to freeze up and stop working. At first I thought perhaps it was the unit itself, Possible ram overload or something. After having it replaced on warranty. I came home updated my ipad ( only the numbers app mind you) and it still froze when trying to open documents????!!!! ARGG!!! WTFF! I really love my mac and Ipad but numbers is the only application I use religiously for work and for life so without a working numbers app I have a useless touchscreen. PLEASE HELP!
I just started having the same problem. I had a lot of dead Numbers documents in cloud storage, so I spent the afternoon cleaning reorganizing and putting files into the cloud that I wanted to use on my iPad mini. I did this from my iMac, then confirmed on iWork that the changes were there. I opened Numbers on the ipad, and the changes weren't reflected, and none of the files were loading. So I deleted the app, thinking it would reload everything and it would be refreshed. Now when it opens it's a blank screen with the Numbers header and linen background, but no documents, and nothing to click on. When I hold down the home button so I can close Numbers, it freezes the ipad. Seems like I killed Numbers on the ipad, which makes me sad.

Just got my iPad 2 three days ago and noticed the battery life drops faster than I expected at least compared to the others ones around, please I need to know the cause and how to effect necessary changes that will prolong the battery life as I have gone through the settings which includes turning off the push notifications, reduce brightness and so on but that doesn't seem to help much.

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

Birthday calendar on iPad one day early with iOS5
The birthday calendar shows all birthdays one day early after upgrade to iOS5 on original iPad. I have all the automatic time adjustments and location recognition on. What is wrong?
I have read that this is a bug, here is a fix which has worked for me at least for the time being:
Here is a process that worked for me to correct the information in Calendars re birthdays appearing one day out:
(1) If your iPad/phone is syncing contacts with iCloud, turn it off. In Settings on your iPad/phone, Mail,Contacts,Calendars, Accounts, iCloud, turn off Contacts.
(2) sync your iPad/phone to iTunes.
(3) now select the ‘Info’ tab in iTunes for your iPad/iPhone. Ensure that ‘Sync Address Book Contacts’ is ticked. (You can revert to syncing with iCloud later, after this process is complete.)
(4) scroll to the very bottom section of the Info tab. Where it says ‘Replace information on this iPad/iPhone’, select ‘Contacts’.
(5) Sync again.
Now check Calendars on iPad/iPhone, this process ‘fixes’ the information of birth dates and they should now appear correctly.

A one day entry on iPhone calendar shows as two days on iPad?!
I know you're thinking this is probably something to do with timezones differences between the iPhone and the iPad?
Each year I put the F1 grand prix races in my calendar as a one-day event on the Sunday they take place. On Sunday 27th March 2011 is the Australian grand prix.
On my iPhone (I'm in the UK and running the latest version on an iPhone 4 etc.) it shows as a one-day event but on my iPad it stradles two-days! When I go to click EDIT on the iPhone entry, despite showing as a Sunday entry only, it shows that it starts on Sunday 27th March and finished on Monday 28th March!
I spent a couple of hours looking at this. No other grand prix date has this discrepancy between the iPad and the iPhone calendars (that are sync'd with MobileMe calendar). It's just this one date.
I even had a friend add an event on the same date and it also suggested it was a one day event but when you edit it then it shows it's a two day event.
And then the only explanation dawned on me. It wasn't time zone setting differences as that would affect all the entries like that the whole year.
27th March is the date the clocks go forward in the UK for British Summer Time!
Is it a bug though? Why does the iPhone show it as one day but the iPad show it as two?
What is it with Apple and calendars and alarms?! And don't start me on the MobileMe calendar and Outlook integration. It's rubbish.Hi Boneart - I feel for you.
I too have the same issue (Feb 2014) which I have just discovered today as I am not a strong user of all-day events, until today when I tried to schedule annual holidays in my diary. I can confirm the EXACT SAME issues that you have described with all-day events displacing 24 hrs EARLY for sync Outlook to iOS calendar, and all-day events displaced 24hrs LATE for sync iOS calendar to Outlook. I also confirm that the issue does not exist for specified time appointments, as you also found.
I note from several other discussion threads that Apple have previously focussed on an issue of all-day events syncing to span 2-days; that is not yet apparent in my situation BUT I will be watching with interest whether a subsequent synchronisation causes the displaced dates to also synchronise back providing the same event apparently spanning 2 days but ACTUALLY existing as two events with identical properties on successive days.
One oddity is that I also operate in the NZ time zone; I wonder if that is significant???
For a brief period I trialled iCloud with a thrid-party patch to resolve the native iCloud issue of not providing 2-way synch with Outlook. That worked beautifully ... until Apple provided an update to the iCloud interface which destroyed all functionality for me. I'm back to hard-wire sync via USB wire again. Very frustrating!!
Finally it is sad that Apple has no interest in these issues. It strikes me that as soon as there is a non-Apple platform involved they blame the other system and wash their hands of it.

Recovery Mode
1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times. -
Has anyone managed to resolve the problems encountered with Apple TV and the loss of ability to mirror iphones, ipads or computers? One day it was working perfectly, from all the above devices, the next the option to switch between playing on the device or mirroring to apple tv had disappeared. I have tried all the obvious such as updating iTunes, turning all devices off and then back on, but nothing is working. Help please!

Your problem is most certainly network related, you might try restarting your devices including your router as a temporary solution, but in the long term would be better correcting the problems with your network.
Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first. -

Assuming you mean that you performed the repair yourself, it would seem that you either obtained a defective screen or you did some sort of damage when you replaced the screen. You can try asking for assistance on ifixit.com, a site dedicate to those attempting their own repairs, or you can take the iPad to a shop and pay them to try to correct the problem for you. Apple will no longer touch your iPad now that you've attempted your own repairs.

On my iPad 2, one particular recurring event keeps duplicating itself. I delete the duplicate and it reappears a day later. Help.
Do you use MobileMe and an iPhone? If yes, do this in the following order:
Mac:
(1) back up the applications giving you problems
iPhone
(1) Open settings, then open "mail, contacts, calendars"
(2) Open .Mac account
(3) Turn OFF the applications that are causing problems
(4) When you turn off on of the applicatios, a red sign "stop syncing" will appear. Press it. A msg will appear "turning off xxx"
(5) Get out of settings
(6) Don't do anything for about 20 mins. Don't touch your iPhone or your Mac. (syncing needs time to settle down)
After 20 minutes...
Mac:
(1) Open each application that is giving you problems. Fix errors. Back up.
(2) Do this for each application
iPhone
(1) Open settings, then open "mail, contacts, calendars"
(2) Open .Mac account
(3) Slide switch to ON for each app you turned off; there won't be a msg
(4) Get out of settings
(5) Via MobileMe, syncing will start again.
Wait about 20 minutes, again. You should see all in order after that. At least, that was my experience. -
My one day old MacBook pro just turned off and it won't come back on either through mains or battery power it's as if the unit is completely dead. Even with the mains plugged in there is no green or orange light to say its charging or full charged. The battery was fully charged anyway seconds before the screen went off.
When you say no green or orange light are you refering to the little led on the magsafe connector? That could mean either the charger/cable are bad or the circuitry in the MBP is faulty. Since this is a brand new MBP best bet is to take it back to an Apple Retail store and have the genius bar staff take a look. They can determine if it needs to be reparired or replaced.
