i purchased racecar engineering mag, i downloaded itunes, installed it got an apple id when i go to download the app so i can read my mag when i go to enter the conformation code i got from the people that sold me the subscription, chelsamags/pixel mags itunes says it dosent work

thanks for your reply. I tried this without success. My apple ID is fine- I verified it and it works. I sign in and it takes me to the page saying "NEXT" but when I click on that, it takes me back to the sign in page. My contacts all disappeared. And I cannot open the FaceTime Preferences pane- is grey and Not able to be clicked on to open. My apple ID works but my FaceTime will not.

the first thing that i check for when people report getting that message when they try to launch their itunes is a broken QuickTime.
try to open your QuickTime. does it launch properly, or do you get an error message?
if you get an error message, the first thing we'll try is a careful standalone QT 7.1 reinstall.
download and save a copy of the QT 7.1 standalone installer to your hard drive. (we'll run the install from there rather than online.) switch off antivirus and antispyware applications prior to the install.

if that install goes through okay, does your itunes launch properly again?
(if you get an error message on the QT standalone reinstall, let us know what it says. include error message numbers if you're getting any.)

I've tried both. First, I tried on my pc, where iTunes had installed iCloud when it last updated. I have iTunes installed on this computer (and on my iPad and iPhone), but that wasn't the issue.
So I went online, thinking I needed a separate iCloud Apple ID, but it prompted me for my current Apple ID and gave me the message about my ID being "valid" but not an iCloud account," which, lol, was what it had asked me to do in order to create one. Well, since you've had the same problem, with three different phones, that all use different size sim cards, it seems pretty obvious the problem is with your carrier/coverage & nothing to do with your phone or sim card.

I have a 2011 Kia Sorento with hands free bluetooth. I can select where the music can be played, to the Sorento, but the music does not come through the bluetooth speakers in the Sorento. Am I missing an app for that? What am I doing wrong?

I have trying to connect my iTunes music through my bluetooth in my Kia Sorento. I have paired the phone with the bluetooth, but now the phone will not even connect, let along having the music play through. Do I need a special app for that? Was something dropped or lost from my iPhone to where no connection, phone or music, will play through the bluetooth to the speakers in the car?

It should work just fine. Try deleting the pairing in the car and on the phone, then re-pair them. It works fine in my 2011 Optima (with the non-nav system) after upgrading to iOS 5.
Make sure there is no other bluetooth connection active when you start the car to connect to it (like a headset).

Cant get quick time to work

I've tried everything from installing the older software to the most recent. Cleared history, temp files, tried a couple of the codecs that are recommended. Nothing works. If I go to Google and open a video, the older software will show a torn 'Q' the newer software will show a question mark inside the 'Q'.
Can someonw tell me what could be wrong.

The video format often is in the suffix Ex: .avi, .wmv, jpg, .mpg and many many more.Do a Google search for 'video formats'. You should be able to find Mac compatible software that will allow you to play your movie. The vast majority can be downloaded for free.
As Andrew says VLC is good, but no format can handle all.

If you're just reading them from email attachments, you can just open it to "view" the document.
However, if you wish to do editing and work, you'll need an application. I use Documents to Go, but there are other versions that people are happy with - do a search in the App store for "office suite" or "word processing".
The next challenge is getting docs back and forth. Doc2Go and others have their own ways to physically sync docs when connected to a computer; you can also email changed/revised/new documents from the iPad to yourself. However, I use a "cloud service" called DropBox that stores docs in the cloud (so I can get to them anywhere) - I paid for the Premium version of Docs2Go to allow that kind of syncing.

Cant get my sound to work :(

I recently had to format my computer because of a virus that wouldnt let me log into windows. I was running win xp pro upgrade and it was running fine. Now i run win 98se becuase it wont let me upgrade for some wierd reason. but i cant get my sound to work. i try to install the drivers but i get a screen after the install wizard to put win98se cd in, select drive and press ok. well i clicked just about every option there was. and it would either flash back to the my documents on the selection screen or ask me if i want to cancell the installation, i have no idea what to do. I dont even know if it is recognizing that i even am using my integrated sound card. i would go and get another sound card but i dont have any money right now. anyone else have this problem or can help with with this problem??? ;(

You can tell whether the system has found your soundcard hardware by looking in "Device Manager" have you yellow question marks that show hardware (but no drivers)? My apologies if you've done this.
If I remember correctly (but don't quote me) when Windows98 asks for your 98SE disc it's looking for a file within one of the .CAB files on the 98SE (Correct me If I'm wrong) disc. If not, exactly which file is it looking for? - the requester should give you a clue. When you know what the file is, do a search on your 98 CD to see if you can find it. Then point the drivers install to that location (the directory where the .CAB OR relevant file resides.)
You say that after failing to find the file on the 98 CD that it reverts to "My Documents" this would suggest that you'd previously installed drivers (or other Win98SE software) from that location. For some reason Win 98 assumes (for some stupid reason) that it'll find any future files it needs at the same location as previously installed files.
Try installing the drivers for your sound using "Device Manager" click on the yellow question mark next to your hardware (if they are available) and Windows should open the "There is a problem with this device" (or words to that effect) requester and follow the instructions (wizard) from there.
I'm going to nip off now as I have 98 SE on a different partition (I very rarely use it). I'll have a look and get back to you later.
