HT4101 Camera

I recently tried attaching my camera using the camera adapter and USB cord. Seems like it locked up the iPad. When I go to photos and click on camera, my photos are there but I can't do anything with them. At the bottom of the page it says stop import. When I hit that it does nothing. Not sure what happened?

It seems the camera synced photos into the iPad. When you tapped on Stop Import, the iPad then stopped the sync. Synced photos cannot be deleted, so you need a computer and iTunes to delete them.

Got a iPad camera connector kit. It is not working as expected. It is not able to read any photos. Both the USB connector and sd card reader arenot showing any photos on iPad. Tried copying all photos directly in DCIM folder. Still no result.
Any other setting needs to be changed?

    Hey, thanks for your updates.
The photos are 8 character long and extension is .jpg
The file names are 8 characters long with 3 as alphapet followed by an "_" and then 4 numbers.
Initially the photos were in a folder inside DCIM folder. I manually copied them to DCIM folder, still no result.

  • HT4101 Camera connection kit and iPhone 4S

Can you transfer video from an iPhone 4S to a sd card or USB drive with the camera connection kit?

  • HT4101 Camera Connector problem

When I plug in the Camera Connector on my IPad 3,  I get an error message "This accessory not supported by IPad".  It is a genuine Apple Camera attachment purchased from Apple Store.  The SD card reader works great, so no problem with it.

Make sure the 30 pin dock connector on the USB adaptor isn't damaged or dirty, if that isn't the case, plug the camera in, and then the adaptor. If that doesn't seem to work the adaptor may be defective.

  • HT4101 Camera Connector kit

I can use the camera connector kit to view documents on my flash drive?

    Not really, and here's why:
    1. The flash drive may require too much power for it to function in which case the iPad will display a message saying "The connected USB device requires too much power" and will simply not work
    2. The connection kit looks for a folder called "DCIM" which is created by digital cameras and is the place all your photos are stored.
    3. It is designed only to work with pictures and movies so any other file/document is not likely to work

Once pictures are moved from your camera to your iPad (using the camera connection kit), how do you get the photos off of the iPad? They do not show up in my photo stream or my iCloud. I am able to see any photo I took on the iPad using the iPad camera (in iTunes, photo stream, or when I open windows explorer and browse the iPad director), however I cannot see any photos transfered from my camera to the iPad. The camera connection kit must have put my photos in a directory I cannot get to and cannot sync.

When I connect my Ipad mini to my camera via lightning to usb camera adapter all i get is a message "The attached accessory uses too much power."Any solutions

It depends on the camera, but some have a special mode for offloading photos but not trying to charge the camera through the USB port. For others, you may have to pull out the SD card (if that's what it uses) and use the Lightning to SD card reader instead.
Maybe if you told us what camera you are connecting, somebody here with the same model can give you more specific information.

  • HT4101 Lightning to USB Camera Connector & the IPad 4

When connecting the Lightning to USB Camera Connector to  the IPad 4; it is giving a MSG that the device requires too much power. Any suggestions??

What are trying to use it with ? If a flash drive or card reader then a lot of them require more power than is supplied to the kit, though a powered reader might work. If a camera then does the camera have a menu setting on it to enable Picture Transfer Protocol (PTP or Pictbridge) or Mass Storage Device - I know that some Canon DSLRs do, I'm not sure about other makes.

  • HT4101 I am trying to connect my JVC Hard Disk Drive Camcorder to my IPAD 2 via the Apple camera kit. I am able to down photos, but video files not showing. Camera shows Mass Stoarge. How can I download videos please.

I am trying to connect my JVC Hard Disk Drive Camcorder to my IPAD 2 via the Apple camera kit. I am able to download photos, but video files not showing. Camera shows Mass Stoarge. How can I download videos please?

The file name only has 6 characters and I'm not sure what the .mod format is. So that's why they are not seen by the iPad.
Another way to transfer. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

How to transfer photos via Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader to iPad.

You need to create a DCIM directory off the root of the card with the photos underneath it, and the photo filenames need to be exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension i.e. in a similar format as if a camera had created/written them
