HT4101 Video doesn't appear in camera pane/video section

I purchased Series 1 of Breaking Bad from iTunes, downloaded the first episode, click-and-dragged it to a 'compatible' SD card, put the connection kit into my iPad, nothing. Added a photo to the SD card. Nothing. Added another photo to the SD card, again, nothing. This is silly. I haven't altered or jailbroken or anything my iPad. Any ideas/suggestions? Thanks

I have a similar problem. iTunes was recognizing my 60 gig Video iPod on my Win XP, usb 1.1 computer. Now I get a message that my computer doesn't recognize the usb device I've attached via the cable. The iPod also doesn't charge via the usb 1.1 jack either...
Can you offer any explainations or help? The iPod is less than a week old and worked properly until now. I've reset the iPod to no avail!

  • Video "jigsaw" artifacts appear when camera pans on burned DVDs

I've been pulling my hair out for days as I export endless new sequences at different settings and then burn DVDs, only to find that the problem does not go away. The issue is the infamous "jigsaw" artifact effect, or whatever you want to call it, meaning that when viewing the resulting DVDs, when the camera pans, images "tear" and kind of spazz out. This seems most noticeable when panning past straight vertical objects, but is not limited to only this circumstance. My suspicion is that this is all the result of an interlacing issue in iDVD, but I have certainly learned that I am capable of overlooking the obvious or being wrong. What I don't understand is that with all of us out there working on Avids and using iDVD, either there does not seem to be a unified ideal export setting that resolves this issue, or I am having a comparatively unique problem. The shame is that most of the DVDs are looking great, and it is only this one issue that is sabotaging completion of this project. I'm at my wits end, so any and all knowledgeable help is supremely appreciated. Help me keep my hair.
When viewing any of these exported clips within quicktime player, the jigsaw is not visible. But when viewing the burned DVDs on my Mac, the jigsaw is visible.
When viewing the burned DVDs on my Panasonic HDTV (TH-42PX75U) the jigsaw is visible. When viewing the burned DVDs on my Sony Trinitron Production monitor (non HD), the jigsaw is visible.
Avid Software: Avid Xpress DV 3.5.0
Editing system info: Mac G4 "Mirror door" model - Dual 1.2 Ghz PowerPC - memory 1024 MB
OS Software on Editing System - OS X version 10.2.3
Quicktime version on Editing system: QT version 6.3
Software used to burn DVDs: Idvd 8 version 7.0.1
Computer used to burn DVDs: MacBookPro3,1 - Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHz (codec downloaded from Avid and installed - prior post about video not displayed in QT exports was due to missing codec)
Quicktime version on Computer used to burn DVDs - QT Version 7.4 (92) (with Pro upgrade)
    DVD media used: TDK DVD-R 8X 4.7GB
Info on sequence I am burning - A 1 hour and 50 minute program of African wildlife footage all shot on regular mini DV tapes. Camera used was the Panasonic AGDVX100A on the 24 frame setting that does not require a software fix (the correction is done in camera). All the footage was digitized using this camera. When viewing any of these exports afterward within quicktime player, the "jigsaw" is not visible. It only becomes visible after burning them and then watching the dvd. All burns in iDVD 8 are using the "professional" burn mode.
Export settings from Avid and iDVD 8 result summary -
    1) Exported at "same as source" from Avid yields arguably the absolute worst result, as I rather suspected with the whole field / interlacing issue, but I was feeling hopeful.
    2) Trying to bypass Quicktime by using "dvstream" as the export setting also yields a very poor result. This jigsaw problem does not occur, but the resulting image is terrible. Very milky blacks, the compression is worse, as in much more noticeable, than any other export, and the image is soft and thin looking, rather anemic, and it ruins the visuals completely. What is a bit odd to me however is that I had been using dvstream to burn DVDs of other projects for years on prior versions of iDVD and it never seemed to be a problem. As I tried this one first, without having the Avid codec installed in my MacBook (which I use to burn as I can run iDVD8 on it, also meaning that trying quicktime reference is not an option, I must export, then move the completed export to my macbook pro), I am currently exporting it one more time to see if installation of the codec fixes the horrible compression and color result, but I am not hopeful at all.
    3) Tried using an Avid forum suggestion that recommended using 720 X 480 - crop/pad - RGB color levels - even (lower field first) - native dimension 720 x 480. No good.
    4) Another Avid forum suggestion to try the "Animation" setting for video
instead of "Avid DV" is not a viable option. The infamous "2 GB limit" message
comes up as the export nears completion and aborts. This message does not appear
with any other export setting. When cutting my sequence in half, the same problem occurs. Even if I could get it to work, the result would be useless if it meant I had to send people several DVDs of the program chopped up into little bits.
    5) Heres a summary of other export attempts all using Quicktime movie and "Avid DV" for video, keeping in mind the info I read about how at least one version of iDVD had the field order (ntsc vs pal)reversed a while back. I would expect that Apple has fixed this problem by now, but just in case...
    a) odd field - 720 x 486 - 601 - crop/pad - 4:3 Non-square
    b) odd field - 720 x 480 - 601 - crop/pad - 4:3 Non-square
    c) even field - 720 x 486 - 601 - crop/pad - 4:3 Non-square
    d) even field - 720 x 480 - - 601 - crop/pad - 4:3 Non-square
Suggestions to buy a different dvd burning program or new software are nice and all, but I simply cannot afford it. I also have a fear that if I were to try a different program that the same darn thing would happen, as no one seems to be able to say with 100% certainty that this specific problem would be fixed. The only thing that would be worse than my sense of hopelessness and helplessness at present would be spending more money and still not having this maddening issue be resolved.
Help... and thanks to any of you who take the time to read this epic length post and reply!

PROBLEM SOLVED! Thanks to having downloaded Toast 8, the dreaded interlacing has disappeared. The first test made me nervous. I exported from Avid using Sorenson and using the "automatic" settings for Toast's detection of fields etc. The DVD still had the jigsaw at the same spots, but it was not as pronounced as some of the tests with iDVD. I then exported "same as source" and used the advanced settings in Toast to tell it "lower field" and maxed the compression settings as much as I could without exceeding disc space. The DVD result is the best looking I've seen so far and all interlacing artifacts are gone! Thanks to Blackdog at the Avid Forum. I now know this interlacing problem was 100% the fault of iDVD 8 and will be using Toast from now on.

    Yes there is.
Go to the iTunes Store on your computer.  Click the "Purchased" link about halfway down on the far right side.  Click the "All" tab on top.  The song is there.  Re-download it.

  • The option of video doesn´t appear in my ipod menu and can´t install videos

I have an ipod 60gb but in menu doesn´t appear videos option. I installed itunes 6 and quicktime 7.
itunes have videos and play videos but in the ipod not.

Are you sure you have a video iPod? Apple have released a 60GB iPod before that was only a colour. If you are sure, go to setting, main menu (2nd down) and find video. Press it and return to the main menu.

  • Synced video doesn't appear on iPod

Help!  I just downloaded Fast Five from ITunes. I then transfered it to my ITouch.  It shows the transfer is complete.  I can see it under ITunes, BUT when I look on my Itouch, it doesn't show up.  I have tried...deleting all videos on the itouch (which then shows the "no video" msg when I touch the video icon).  I then transfered the FF video.  I go back to the Itouch, and this fime I don't get the "no video" message but I get a blank video listing screen.  Also tried re-syncing.  Any ideas?  Thanks in advance!

I'm having the same issue. My new out-of-the-box 30 GB Video iPod shows I have 15 videos after syncing, my settings have Video set to "On," I can watch the videos in iTunes, and I can and navigate to them through the iPod menu system. However, when I click on a video the screen goes black, I get a Play triangle icon in the upper left screen, I can feel the hard drive spinning, then the triangle goes away for a moment while the screen is totally black, and the screen returns to the navigation where it lists the video. Every video I'm trying to watch is coming straight from the iTunes music store--no home videos.

  • Synched video doesn't appear on iPod

I tried converting some mpegs and noticed they played ok in iTunes but didn't even appear on the 30 GB video iPod (though they showed up on the iPod's listing under iTunes). Thinking there was something wrong w/ the conversion (some spec that was off), I tried downloading a show from the Music Store (a free one, thankfully). Again, that showed up in iTunes (and played ok there); it showed up in the iPod's listing under iTunes (ie it appears to have synched ok), but doesn't show up anywhere under the video section (or any other section for that matter) on the iPod. I KNOW the one I purchased from the Music Store is encoded ok, and yet the iPod refuses to show it. Any ideas?

  • HT2729 Why doesn't video or podcasts appear after clicking the video icon on my iPad2?

After clicking on the video icon nothing happens.  No video, no start page, no sound.  What are the possible causes?

Try quitting the videos app completely and restart the iPad. Then try again.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
If that doesn't work, try this.
Swipe to the right from your first home screen to get to the iPad Spotlight search. Type in the name of any of your movies in the field at the top. When the movie appears in the search - tap on it and it should hopefully start to play. Let it play for a minute or so - hit done - go back to videos app and see if all is OK.

  • My video doesn't appear

Any ideas where a newbie has gone wrong? I have created a simple three page site using iweb templates popped a video on page 1 and when loaded it just shows the blue Q but no controls to start video.
    http://web.mac.com/tony.latimer
    thanks

try emptying your cache! it might also be a interent connection problem. maybe yours is slow and so the video takes some time to load because it does not have "fast-start" enabled. this ensures the video starting without having completely loaded. when you export in imovie (or from whereever) choos to export to iweb. or edit the movie in quicktime pro.

If you are using Internet Download Manager, make sure that you are using latest version of IDM?
    * http://mirror2.internetdownloadmanager.com/idman615.exe?b=12
make sure that '''IDM CC''' extension is enabled?
    * Go to Firefox/Tools>Addons>Extension and check if it enabled or not

  • The video from my camera doesn't appear in the iMovie monito

    Hi,
    I'm working imovie 5.0.2 (111) and i just got a new sony DCR-PC55.
I'm trying to import video from my camera and The video doesn't appear in the iMovie monitor. my camera set to VTR mode and i'm connected with FireWire cable as always.
    PLEASE HELP!!!!

I have found a solution. A google search of "iMovie HD problems" turned up this link
    http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/vt3/10228
Seemed weird but it worked. Basically it said it is a Core Audio problem that can be cured by opening Garageband and playing a few notes with the keyboard window. I had to do this a few times but eventually iMovie import worked. I even left Garageband open and switched back and forth between it and iMovie. I am next going to open the quicktime video of the iPod announcement from earlier this week as I was having problems getting any audio with the video when I used quicktime.
Hope this is helpful. I am importing video footage as I type this.

  • Adjust volume window doesn't appear

I am running imove 08 (last version) and am trying to adjust the volume of background music (or clip volume) but when I click on the adjust audio button the window (as seen in tutorial video) doesn't appear.
I have connected the external monitor I have used before (just in case the window is "somewhere else" and deleted the imove.plist file (to start with new settings).
    Desperately,
    Thomas

Sorry all, I am too stupid for this world. I have deleted the imovie.plist file in the wrong folder
Done it on a user level, here you go: proper sound, family happy, dad a hero, made my day ...

  • I have downloaded the app game your video but i cant save the videos to my photo library and i cant enable permission because it doesn't appear in privacy settings

i have downloaded the app game your video but i cant save the videos to my photo library and i cant enable permission because it doesn't appear in privacy settings

If you have not provided access, you can do so by going to default Settings app > Privacy > Photos and switch ON Game Your Video.
Game Your Video saves all videos to its own library. To sync to Camera Roll, simply go to Library and tap on Multiple selection button. Now select the videos to copy and tap on Sync button in the bottom bar. (See screenshot attached)
But you still have some issues, just email it to their support team: [email protected]
Also update the app. Game Your Video 2.0 is available on the App Store.
