HT4108 Will Apple make Lightning Component AV Adapter cable?

I'm currently using a high tech Vaistech ML+ device which does not support HDMI so I cannot use the Lightning Digital AV Adapter cable.

This is not a support question. This is an Apple Support forum.

  • Will Apple make a desktop app for Beats Music?

Will Apple make a desktop app (OS X) for Beats Music? Seems to make sense. Can Apple make THAT kind of  decision, now that the deal is done? I would love to use it when on my MBP.

What apple will probably do is embed the streaming service into iTunes but no one really knows what will happen, or if they are going to keep the beats name for the service. They're rumors saying that apple will put beats on all iOS devices in the next iOS update so I guess we will see how they incorporate the service into their services.

Will Apple make a new bumper for the iPhone 5?

This Photive case is great! It has the same design as Apple's iPhone 4/4s bumper case. Glad somebody stepped in to fill the gap since Apple is not making one for the iPhone 5.

  • When will Apple make an ipad that lets you make and receive phone calls?

When will Apple make an ipad that lets you make and receive phone calls?

The iphone is too small for me to use for the internet (maybe it's my age)-- especially for Facebook--where I am a Page Administrator, but the mini ipad would be just right for both phone and internet. I'll bet they make a new ipad able to make and receive phone calls right after I buy the current one.

I'm having a brand new unopened Apple 5W USB adapter from UK for my iphone 5. I want an Indian version USB adapter. Will Apple Store replace my USB adapter for free of cost ?

Perhaps, but maybe not, as what can they do with one with the UK plugs?  I'm just saying regional things like that often have to be returned at a store in the country you bought them.
But, just go and ask as the worse they can say is no.  If they do say no they cannot exchange it, then for very little money you can buy a UK-to-India plug adapter and use that charger in India anyway.  Such plug adapters are only $2-$5 here in the USA on Amazon.

  • Will apple make newsstand a removable app in iOS6

When will apple make the newsstand app removable like iBooks? Not everyone wants or needs it, I like iBooks but don't want newsstand & it's embeded into iOS 5 taking up spae i could use for something I do want there.

taking up spae i could use for something I do want there.
Since there is room for >2200 other apps on the home screen, how is that statement meaningful?

WIll Apple make a smaller iPhone?  The 6 is not ideal from me.  I need a phone with:

    - Much longer battery life -- even if tha means a heavier, thicker phone

And if only you would use the correct channel for feedback to Apple.  This forum is for user-to-user technical assistance, not for discussion of Apple's policies or procedures or to speculate about new product.

  • Problem with apple mini dvi to video adapter cable

I recently bought an apple mini dvi to video adapter cable and all that it would display on my television screen was black and white colors. The quality of the screen seemed to be okay but it was hard to tell since i did not have any color. Is there something that i can do to fix this problem

Your probably not doing anything wrong. There are thousands of users with Similar issues and it seems to be with many different adapters.
We have Mini DP to VGA (3 different brands) and they all fail most of the time. This seems more prevalent with LCD Projectors. I've tested some (50+) with VGA Monitor (HP) and they all worked, LCD Projector (Epson, Hitachi, and Sanyo) and they all fail, DLP Projector (Sanyo) and one worked.
My Apple Mini DP to DVi works most of the time. My Mini DP to HDMI (Generic non Apple) works every time.
The general consensus is that Apple broke something in the OS around 10.6.4 or 10.6.5 and its not yet fixed. As we are a school we have logged a case with the EDU Support group so will see what happens.

  • Will Apple make a 30-pin to lightning connector that will work with a case?

Why did Apple make the 30-pin to lightning connector useless when you have a case on your iPhone 5/5s? The lightning connector part isn't long enough to fit inside when using Apple's own cases (i.e. the new leather cases for the 5s). Does anyone know if there are plans to correct this mistake and lengthen the connector?

From the reviews on Apple's site, the cabled adaptor does NOT work with Apple's own case - the lightning plug is too fat :-(

  • Will Apple Mini-DVI to Video Adapter device work on HD TV's?

I have a Macbook. Will using just the Apple Mini-DVI to Video Adapter work for me if I have and HD TV so that I can watch movies from the Internet on the HD TV screen? How good will the quality be compared to watching on the Macbook itself? And I've noticed how short the chord is for the Apple Mini-DVI to Video Adapter. Will I have to buy another chord to make it reach the back of the HD TV? Thanks.

As it happens, I just bought the mini-DVI to video connector for my wife's Macbook (C2D) yesterday. I am in Australia (which is a PAL country), but I didn't see anything on the device or the packaging which indicated it as being PAL-specific. In fact, in Display Preferences when it is connected to the Mac and TV and in use, the panel relating to the TV output (which is shown by the Mac on the TV screen) is where you select between PAL-50Hz and NTSC-60Hz, so I'd guess it is a single worldwide device, rather than their being separately-manufactured PAL and NTSC variants of the connector.
Anyway, on the back of the top cardboard part of the packaging is a picture of the connectors (because you cannot really see the pins in the Mini-DVI connector itself when packaged, due to an opaque plastic "keeper" over the end of the plug).
To reconfirm what is said above, the pin configuration on the mini-DVI port on the MacBook and what you need on the Mini-DVI connector is a horseshoe or "U" shape. I don't remember if any specific model of Mac is listed, but I believe as long as it is that U-shaped connector you'll be fine with the same connector kit.
The "mini-VGA to video" connector is not what you want for a MacBook; mini-VGA is not "U"-shaped inside, but rather two rows of pins in "II" configuration (even though the outside dimensions of mini-VGA and mini-DVI look very similar).

  • Will Apple make me pay for Pages 3 just to get the bugs out of 2?

I'm another Pages 1 owner who is not happy with Apple's failure to produce a bug fix for Pages 1.
It's fine to ask for more money for new features, but I don't like having to pay more just to get rid of the bugs they've known about since the beginning (the Tabs bug, as just one example).
So if I swallow my frustration and buy v2, do you think Apple will produce any updates for fixing bugs in this version? Or will they make me wait another year and buy the software a third time?

Pages' update policy has been argued to death a while back.
It's probably not going to change, so maybe balance accounts against other options on the basis that this is going to be subscription software! Personally I find not so bad value at that, since other programs also become obsolete or get tired, or charge you more for an update than the cost of iWork anyway.
As to your question about "bug fixes" - free updates might indeed be made available to fix up actual bugs. a Pages 1.0.1 must have been offerred somewhere along the line, and there was a Pages 1.0.2 just before Pages was released. If this happens with Pages 2, you will get it from software update.
Wishlists about new features, or how the existing ones might be made to work better are not actual bugs. And often they reflect somewhat conflicting requirements. So Apple have to sift through these, work out a way to implement them - and most likely will be looking at another release before they get around to it.
For AU$119 a year - make sure you get the best value by putting in feedback to Apple (Pages main menu, Provide Pages Feedback). Or consider what the Applestore salesman told me when I asked about iLife '06, which I would be unlikely to use enough to stretch what it does. Just get every second new version, he said. So that's $59.50 a year. You pays your money and you takes your choice. On the other hand, in my opinion, Pages 2.0.1 really does owe Pages 2 users a thing or two - and I do hope Apple are getting on with it.
    Regards.

  • When will Apple make Safari work properly?

Does anybody know when Apple will get its very own built-in browser to work properly?
Since 'upgrading' to Yosemite when it was released, Safari has been horrendous, locking up multiple times a day.
    Here's the latest...
I have of course allowed my Mac to report each and every lock-up, so Apple knows about them.
If anybody is able to understand the text below, does it give any hint of what I can do to make Safari work as it should?
All my software is from the App Store and all software is fully up to date.
At this point Firefox is looking good...

    Hi Allan,
Thanks for the reply, I've now had time to run EtreCheck, which I've copied below.
Just a couple of notes - I've recently turned back on my two Safari extensions after leaving them off for a while to see if they made any difference.  They don't appear to.
I've just had Mail Web Content hang as well as Safari (see below) - when I forced Safari to quit, Mail started working fine, so maybe a conflict there?
Anyhow, here is the EtreCheck result - even I can see some processes running which don't need to (Matrox and others) so I'll endeavour to clean those up...
    Thanks again,
    Ian

  • Will apple replace my us iPad adapter for a uk one?

When I was in America, I purchased the iPad third generation. When buying this I asked the lady about the warranty and she said it applies wordwide. I also asked if there was an adapter that I could purchase so that the charger would work for it in the uk, and she said if I took it into an apple store they would exchange it for me. So is there any chance of me getting this adapter replaced? Thank :)

That's a question for apple themselves to answer. This is a user to user forum so we really can't. YOu can take it into your local UK store and ask them.
Apple does sell a worldwide power kit but a plug adapter will do the same thing for a fraction of the cost.
