HT4111 Is the HM1100 compatible to the New iPad?

I'm trying to connect my Samsung HM1100 headset to the new iPad, it comes up and connects but without requesting a Pin. And there is no audio connectivity.

I'm having the same problem with Samsung HM1200.  Anybody have any ideas??

My old iPad 2 is updated to ios 7.1.2 but I have a new 4 which is only compatible with 7.0.4 from setup. How can I backup my account to the new iPad with this incompatibility?

What you need to do is temporarily set up your new 4. Just long enough to update the operating system. Then you can erase all content and settings - which puts it back to its out of box state, then set it up again, this time restoring it from the backup of your two.
So, using the same Apple ID on both - just to keep things easy - set up your 4. Just basically choose 'set up as new' to activate it, then immediately update the iOS to 7.1.2.
then erase all content and settings, which puts it back to 'llike new'...but the operating system will not reset, it'll remain 7.1.2
Then set it up again, this time choosing to 'restore from the backup' of your 2 and your 4 will be a near clone of your two.

    Also I'm in Australia

Yes, turn by turn directions is available on the new ipad. I've tried it and it does work.
    What problem are you having?

  • Will all (both Apple proprietary and 3rd party) accesories compatible with iPad2 also be compatible with the new iPad (version 3)?

I have just pre-ordered my first iPad, and luckily my timing was perfect as I have been able to grab a first round new iPad (version 3). That said, while I wait for it to ship (due 3rd of April), I wanted to do some research and begin to buy the accesories I will want to go along with it.
Are all accessories currently available on the market and thus compatible with the iPad 2 also going to be compatible with the new iPad (version 3)? This question goes for both Apple proprietary accessories (i.e. Airport Express, Camera connector kit, Smart Cover, etc.) and 3rd party (non-Apple iPad covers / stands, etc.)?
    Many thanks in adavnce.

There are two different Zagg keyboards. One of them, the Zagg Folio, is a combination keyboard and case that completely surrounds the iPad, front and back. The Zagg Folio (for iPad 2) doesn't fit the new iPad since the new iPad is thicker.
The other Zagg keyboard is the "Logitech Keyboard Case by Zagg". This keyboard grips and surrounds the front of the iPad, but doesn't go around the back. Since the new iPad has the same frontal dimensions, it's compatible with iPad 2 versions of this keyboard.

  • HT4111 What can I do to have the new Ipad discover plantronics voyager pro headset?

What can I do to have the new Ipad discover plantronics voyager pro headset?

    Try this:
Make sure you turn off the voyager ( red light) and then hold the power button until you see the alternating red and blue flashing light that indicates it is discoverable.  Then go back to the iPad settings and you should see that it has discovered the voyager.  Then select (touch where it says 'voyager') and it should pair.

  • Can anyone tell me or give me a link to the latest response from Apple regarding very real weak wifi signal on what seems to be a batch of both the new ipad and the earlier Ipad2. I have just bought a 2nd hand ipad2 and it has a very weak wifi signal

Over the last week or so I have been trawling the internet looking for references to weak wifi signals on the Ipad2 and was staggered by the sheer quantity of people who seem to have identical issues, not just with the ipad2 but also with the new ipad. What annoyed me most from reading the reams upon reams of comments made on the Apple community forum is the fairly large number of people who seemed to believe that 'these' people were either just moaners and wingers or else they must have something wrong with their router set-up rather than a serious fault with their ipad and it seems all because there ipad in question works like a dream.
Obviously I can only speak from my experience, and that is, I have an ipad2 32GB with wifi, purchased about 6 months ago and it works like dream with a good 2-3 bar wifi signal through 2 thick stone walls over 30 feet away. My router is a standard one supplied by my broadband supplier compatible with all 'g','b' and 'n' equipment. However, over a week ago now I bought second hand genuine ipad2 16GB with wifi from a close friend who has just purchased a new ipad3 to replace his old ipad2 (had it for over a year so no longer under warranty). When I started it up downstairs from my router, where I always use my other ipad2 which has a very strong wifi signal, I discovered that the new secondhand ipad2 I had purchased couldnt find a network signal at all. So after doing network resets and all other 'fixes' on the device recommended, I took it upstairs to my office where the router is based and found that the device could now locate the network, but the signal was lost over only 12 feet from the router!
I quizzed my good friend about this issue and he informed me that it has always been like this since he first purchased it and he never thought that it was a fault, it was just the way it was. When he first aquired the device he did think at the time that this distance was poor, but thought nothing of it as he didnt have any other ipad to measur ethe signal strength against, and as his router was in his living room anyway he nothing of it. Fair enough.
So, there we have it. One ipad2 with a very good wifi signal and another ipad2  with a very poor wifi signal running off the same router, both with the same IOS 5.0. ?
As well as all of the other isues that customers have picked up on, such as 'death grip' (which I must say does appear to happen, but personally i dont think that this is a serious issue if you are aware of this issue and have a strong signal anyway), my experience seems to be a good  example of a 'duff' wifi ipad versus a 'great' wifi ipad', an issue confirmed by complaints from a fairly large number of customers who have also reported the same or similar weak wifi signals with both the ipad2 and the ipad3. So, as this shows the weak wifi signal is a very real issue it seems on a batch of ipad2 and 3's, which to my logic is obviously a hardware issue on a batch of early ipad2's and not a software one, otherwise all ipad's would suffer this problem! So, is it a faulty antenna or a faukty network card in an early batch?
So, the bottom line now is, of course, firstly,  how can I get Apple to fix my other ipad2 when the warranty has run out? Any suggestions anyone?
Personally I think good Apple customer service should offer a recall with a replacement on this apparent batch of ipads, dont you?

    Greetings,
I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.
    Good Luck - Cheers,
    M.

  • Hi, can anyone please tell me if it is possible to download Google chrome (or similar) on the New Ipad... Thanks!

Hi, can anyone please tell me if it is possible to download Google chrome (or similar) on the New Ipad...
I keep getting an a message that reads "Safari cannot download this file" ... is there any other browser that can run on the New Ipad
    Thanks!

You can't download programs via Safari. The only programs (i.e. apps) that you can install are those that are in the iTunes app store on your computer and the App Store app directly on the iPad - PC and Mac programs are not compatible with the iPad, they are different operating systems.
There are a number of browser that are available in the store e.g. Atomic Web and iCab Mobile are two of the most popular, and there is also a free Opera browser (though what is available in the store may depend upon what country that you in and therefore what is available in your country's store).

Haven't really used any of them including VLC - actually use netflix on the ipad more than anything. I was able to drop an mp4 into imovie on my ipad and see it there. This was something I had shot as avhcd and converted with turbo.264. Played fine. Probably not what you want for a movie player though.
Well, turbo.264 is indeed very nice to have - even for converting full-sized movies. (Nevertheless, TechRadar's latest roundup (see http://www.techradar.com/news/software/applications/6-of-the-best-video-converte rs-for-mac-1074303 ; also linked from another roundup at http://www.iphonelife.com/blog/87/benchmark-excellent-multimedia-converter-handb rake-vs-commercial-apps ) has shown it's still worse than HandBrake in most respects.)
All H.264 files (assuming they are H.264 level 4.1 or lower) are compatible with the built-in Videos app.

Those of you who use other players, what do you reccomend? Just curious.
It entirely depends on your needs. The top players (AVPlayerHD / ProPlayer, It's Playing, GoodPlayer) all have different strengths and weaknesses. I myself use It's Playing the most as I convert everything into MP4 and simply love the DSP's (brightness / volume / saturation boosting). (Its software decoders are definitely worse than those of AVPlayerHD / ProPlayer; however, MP4's are played back from hardware.)

  • Does anyone know if a lightning 30-pin apdater works with the new iPad?

I have a Philips Fidelio DS9000 and the new iPad doesn't fit! Apparently a 30-pin adapter will work (according to Philips), but on the Apple site it doesn't say if this pin is compatible with a new iPad. Please help! Thanks.

    If you mean this one:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD823ZM/A/lightning-to-30-pin-adapter
Then yes, its designed for the new iPad, iPad mini and iPhone 5 as specified in its compatibility chart in that same page.

  • I just bought the top of the range of the new iPad on 10th Oct 2012, wanna change it to iPad 4.

I just bought the top of the range of the new iPad (64GB with Retina Display), and iPad smart Cover from the shop in Thailand, Apple just launched the 4th gen of iPad yesterday. I spent a lot of money to get the 3rd Gen. Wanna get the new one instead.
So sad for buying this gen ...
Can Apple get the new one for me? I wanna return mine...

I have a similar issue...my uncle asked what I wanted as a present and I said a new ipad came out with support for Australian 4G networks and to get that...it's the 'new' ipad. Of course he went into the store and asked for the latest 'new' ipad on 28/10 and they sold him an ipad3 which retailed for the same price as an ipad4.
So when I got it I was advised by the telco that my version was not compatible. I called applecare to ask them if I could swap it being 1 week out from purchase and of course they said go back to the store it was purchased from. No surprises the store doesn't want anything to do with it, they just want to get rid of their old stock.
Now I am stuck with an ipad which I did not want (I specifically did not want the ipad3 because it did not support our local networks' 4G) and Apple have washed their hands of it.
This is terrible policy...at first I was upset Apple or the reseller won't exchange it but really I don't blame the reseller now...my grief is in the stupid Apple naming policy..."oh it's the new ipad with retina display now" .... hang on a second the ipad3 was also the 'new' ipad with retina display (maybe not by name) and was never referred to as the ipad 3rd gen...now they're saying oh it's now the ipad3 you want the ipad with retina display...guess what your stupid naming convention means half the noobs out there don't know what they're buying.
The identical naming convention has caused my uncle to purchase an obsolete product for top dollar...I have an iphone 3g, 4, 4s, touch, etc. well I think it's safe to say android is the future. I'm already finding streaming media is made impossible by Apple's DRM and policies...something my $100 andoid tablet can do easy.

You can go thru anything else you want to sync also and set that before you actualy sync. If your gonna sync then only do it once.

  • GET THE NEW IPAD with no contract

    Hi everyone
I am going to travel to te US in few days and i want o know if i can get the new ipad 4g 64gb without contract (At&t or Verizone ) and woh much it coast
    thanks for your support .

There is no contract for the 4G iPad. It costs $829 plus local sales tax (different in every location in the US).
In the past only the AT&T (GSM) model would work internationally. Apparenly the new Verizon will also connect to 4G international networks, but I'm not sure if it will work with 3G.
Both the ATT and Verizon model of iPad can roam worldwide on GSM/UMTS networks. In countries without compatible 4G LTE networks, the new iPad will operate on GSM network technologies such as HSPA+ and DC-HSDPA. When you travel internationally, you can use a micro-SIM card from a local carrier.
