You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.
You can restore from a backup if you have one from BEFORE you set the restrictions passcode.

  • I have had an apple iPad 2 for less than a year and I have less than 2 pages of apps but when I look at the space meter the "other" section is taking up 6.7 Gb out of 16 Gb on it. I have researched this on the Internet and no one seems to know what it is.

I have had an apple iPad 2 (16 Gb) for less than a year with less than two pages of apps, but when I look at the bar which tells you how much space you have used, it says I have 6.7 Gb worth of "other" space used. I am unable to download any apps on account of all the space used. I have researched this problem and I can't seem to find an explanation. If anyone knows the solution or has spoken to apple about this please help if you can. Thank you!

The long and short of it is that you will probably have to restore your iPad. That giant "other" space is a sign of a corrupt file from a sync, I am pretty sure, but I am quite sure that the way to resolve it is to restore the iPad.
You can search the discussion site for similar threads but I think you will find that a restore is the way to correct it. Read this one.

    FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
    1. Turn off iPad
    2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
    3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
    4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
    5. Release Home button.
    ON COMPUTER
    6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
    7. Select "Restore iPad"...
    Note:
    1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
    2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.

  • I have purchased the Apple Ipad 2

    I have purchased the Apple Ipad2 Wi-Fi 32GB with
    the 10W USB Power Adapter.
I live in the UK. How long do I charge it for?
Not a lot of information comes with it!!
    Thanks, Susie

From empty mine takes between 3 and 4 hours to fully charge (not sure of the exact timing) - but out of the box it should be at least partly charged.
For info about the iPad you can download a copy of the manual from here : http://support.apple.com/manuals/#ipad
This article www.apple.com/batteries/ipad.html about batteries says that you should go through at least one charge cycle per month :
For proper reporting of the battery’s state of charge, be sure to go through at least one charge cycle per month (charging the battery to 100% and then completely running it down).

  • I have bought new apple iPad but I don't know how to verify my Apple ID can you please help me

I Have bought new apple I pad but I don't know how to verify it can you please help me

When you create an iTunes account you should receive an email to the primary email address that you put on the account - that email should have a 'verify now' link in it which you need to click on and which will open a browser for you to log into your account from.
From Frequently asked questions about Apple ID :
How do I verify my Apple ID by email?
Simply follow the link in the verification email that says "Verify Now." Sign in with your current Apple ID and password, then click Verify Address. You can also verify by signing in at My Apple ID. You'll receive an email prompting you to verify.
(For info these are user-to-user forums, you are not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple, nor is it 'live chat' - a fellow user will reply when they see a question and they know the answer.)

  • I have bought a apple ipad 3 with 64 cellular off eBay .i cannot  activate it as the activation server seems to be unavailable .could the ipad be security blocked ?

Have purchased a IPad 3 64g cellular from EBay and cannot activate it . It keeps saying the activation server is unavailable . The Ipad itself appears to be brand new could it be security locked if possibly stolen . The seller has a 100 percent record of satisfied customers ?

Contact the seller and either get it working or demand a refund.
As an aside, I would NEVER buy computing hardware on eBay (or other sites like that).

  • Will a 30-pin charger fit an Apple iPad 1st generation tablet

I have a reconditioned Apple iPad 16 GB WiFi iso ist generation tablet.  The charget that came with it worked for a little while but now it says it is not the correct charger.  I am wondering if the charger is no longer working or if it really is the correct one.  It looks like the 30-pin that connects to the plug.  Can anyone help me.

As you can tell I am a novice.  I am 70 yrs old and trying to keep up with technology.  I have the whole thing, the plug and the cable that goes into the iPad and also comes out of the plug and goes into the computer.  When the whole thing is conected to the iPad and pluged in it won't charge.

  • How do I disable my iPad passcode? (I find it an unnecessary task)

I have set up my iPad passcode, but now find it an unnecessary step and I would like to delete it. I am sure this is easy but it is not self-evident in the "settings" under "passcode'.

If your iPad is administered by someone else they may demand that a passcode be used. For example work or school administered devices. (for example at my work iPhones and iPads are not allowed access to the network or the exchange account unless they are passcode locked.

  • HT4113 My ipad is locked and I have forgotton my passcode. I have never synced with itunes. Any advice as I will lose purchases and photos? Many thanks

My ipad is locked and I have forgotton my passcode. I have never synced to itunes. Do I lose all purchases and photos? Many thanks

Removing Disabled erases the contents of the iPad. You can redownload your apps, but the pics will be gone. If you have important files on your iPad, you should always backup frequently.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.

    Hi doph4140,
If you are able to access/unlock your iPad currently (does not have a passcode) and you are looking to set one up, you may find the following article helpful:

You have to restore the device within iTunes. You want to use the same computer that you always sync with so that you can restore your app data and settings. You can restore with any other computer, but you will lose everything on the iPad.
This will tell you how to restore
