HT4113 is there anyway to clear a passcode for your ipod that you have forgotten?

My 7 year old son has forgotten the passcode he set for his Ipod touch. Is there anyway to clear it? Either from the Ipod itself or through the Itunes?

Connect the iPod to your computer and restore via iTunes. Place the iPod in Recovery Mode if necessary to allow the restore.

You can do as the manual tells you to do and restore the ipod.
If you are unable to restore, then type "unable to restore" into the search bar at the top of this page by Support and read the resulting help articles.

Is there anyway to set a passcode for my iPhone/iPad, but prevent the device from being disabled?

My wife and I have iPhones, and also have an iPad. We also have three children, and recently they have been trying to guess our passcodes so that they can watch videos and play games. Trouble is, after 10 attempts, the device will disable for 60 seconds, and then if the 11th attempt is wrong, the device will disable for 5 minutes, etc. My iPad is currently disabled for 60-minutes. Grrr.
Is there anyway to set a passcode to keep the children out, and yet prevent the device from being disabled on successive attempts? I realise that this feature is there to protect our devices from brute-force attacks, but we are being penalised, in that our devices become disabled for a period of time.

Well, so you have to ask: Is the problem your iPad or your children? Another question: If they're not to watch videos or play games, then why are they on the iPad in the first place?
Obviously you already know the answer to your question; there is no way to set it up the way that you want to. If you nonetheless feel that you should be able to do that, then put together your best case for it and make your wishes known directly to apple via their established Feedback links:

You can only track it if you turned on Settings > iCloud > Find My before it was lost/stolen, and then registered it in iCloud's Find My Phone service. You must then log in to iCloud, click Find My Phone and see if it shows up. If it is turned off, not connected to the internet or been reset to factory condiditon it will not show up. There is no way to track it except in that way.
Report it to the police, insurance and cell provider in case the will blacklist the iPhone so it cannot be used.
Change your passwords for accounts on the iPhone.

However, I have 3 Issues Regarding iPad 2 with IOS 7:
1.) I can no longer open up the apps from the update page. (I used to be
able to & it was a quick way of making certain that I wanted to keep an app
before I updated it.
2.) I have many apps that I have updated since installing the new
operating system & they now have "open" symbols next to them, but I don't
know how to get them off of my update list (since that has already been
done to them).
3.) My iPad has gotten stuck or frozen more in this last week since the
new update then has in the last 2 years put together. (It seems to be stemming from the "Updates" page as sometimes that page is just white & will not open, even though everything else opens & I have an internet connection.)

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. If you haven't backed up /imported the photos, it's most likely you can't access that data. Passwords/code are made for security, remember them in the future.
You could try importing photos using
iOS: Importing personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer
You can use
iOS: Forgotten passcode or device disabled after entering wrong passcode
to restore the device, but everything that hasn't been backed up(purchases excluded) will be lost.
After restoring, you can redownload your purchases using this:

Forgotten Restrictions Passcode Help
You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.

It's annoying because the amount of memory apple advertise is not actually all for you to use. I bought an 8g iPod thinking it would be enough but didn't realise 2g of the 8g is already used for you!

I get that you can set iTunes media file location. I assume this will be the location for all media from itunes as well as ripped cd's ect. Is there anyway to set the location for different media formats independantly.
ie All my music is in My Music I mainly rip CD's and I would like these to go into My Music. At the same time I don't want iTunes to mix in videos books ect ect.

I just spent 1/2 hour looking for gapless, why the heck did they remove it? Stupid. I don't want the program deciding for me - just SO STUPID. Man iTunes 11 is such a disaster - didn't they have anyone who actually uses the program spend time with the features? They relocated all this basic stuff and it's now totally counterintuitive. I really hate it.
