They will only be where you put them If you are doing the very basics, then they will be on your computer and they will be in your backup copy of your computer.
The itunes store is not global at all, never has been. You cannot redownload your content from another country. You can only use the countrys itunes store for the country that you are physically located.

If you Restore using last computer you synced to the password will be removed and you can restore the last backup on your computer, which includes your camera roll.
If you enabled Photo Stream in iCloud your photos are in Photo Stream.
If you had installed one of the many apps that can upload photos to a photo sharing site and had used it you will have your photos.
If you have done none of these things you are out of luck. The phone comes with many tools to preserve content, but you have to use them.

I'm having the same problem on an iphone 4s running iOS8; when i updated to iOS8, all my ringtones went missing, and when i got a £50 gift card for christmas (2014), I purchased some songs from the iTunes store on my iPhone. i downloaded songs from paramore, panic! at the disco, coldplay, and imagine dragons, over wi-fi, and they went into my iphone music library; but when i re-opened the music app a few days later, in a place where i had no wi-fi, except for my 3G phone signal, some cloud icons appeared next to my newly purchased songs, telling me to re-download them from the cloud, when i haven't even deleted them. this has happened twice now, and i had to use up some of my 5GB data allowance to redownload them from the cloud. This is annoying and i need to fix this issue ASAP.

Videos can’t be synced back to iPhone from iPhoto.
Double-click the video in iPhoto and it will open in Quicktime. Use the Quicktime File -> Save as... command to save the movie file (I suggest saving it to your desktop). Then you can drag the movie file to your iTunes library and select it to sync to your iPhone by selecting it under "Movies" in the video tab.
You can play it using the iPod app as any other movie.

I had over 1500 songs in my iTunes library. They were visible on my iPhone, iPad, and iPod AND my PC. All my songs are intact on my devices but I only have 181 songs on my PC. When I try to sync my devices, I get the message that all my library on the idevice will be lost and all I will have is 181 songs in the iTunes library on my PC. How in the world do I fix this? The sort fields should generally be empty unless you've putting in custom values to sort solo artists by their surnames. You can apply common changes to thousands of tracks at once, just don't apply the wrong change because there is no undo.
It is a good idea to backup before undertaking large scale changes. See this backup tip for a suggested approach.

How can I set a default action when I right click on a file in finder

so that it opens Outlook 2011. This seems to be the only way to email from finder however I can't seem to set the option to remain in the menu and have to go through the steps each time.
I go through this process now.
right click file-open with-other-choose outlook in apps, then it opens the new mail with attachment screen and I am right to go.
I would like to have outlook as the list of options under "open with" currently it offers word, safari, text editor and a couple of others.
Sometimes I send PDF's JPG, Text etc so never the same type of file.
