How do I determine if my battery life is bad??
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. Hi, I have an iPhone 5s, recently its been a lot hotter than usual, also the battery life is going down a lot faster than usual, and it takes absolutely ages to charge up. There must be a serious problem with the battery, any ideas? thanks

Is anyone having problems with the battery heating up and draining the power? Mine has been doing this for about 2 months now.
This is a major problem with Lollipop, but yo said it started 2 months ago. Several people have fixed problem by removing FaceBook And Face book messenger and then re loading the apps again. You might want to clear your cache before reloading. Not sure this is your problem, but worth a try. Good Luck

Is anyone having problems with the battery drains quickly and the iphone4 heats up in use and in charging after upgrading to 5.1.1?
I have had the same problem but I seem to be getting somewhere to fixing it!!! My battery was going down at 20% an an hour now its 10% with constant use and 5 in standby !!! So improvement all round
First I did a restore then I drained the battery i started to charge it and when it came on I turned the phone off completely and let it charge to 100% I then left it for a couple of hours on charge at 100. I saw no improvement after 1st drain so I repeated the drain battery and charge steps again with the phone turned off when charging and have seen a very big improvement. I am going to do it again tonight and hopefully problem solved!!!!
The next issue is iMessage as that's playing up and wifi drop out

I couldn't find the edit button on my original post so I am posting an update here.
I have gone through more apps and have had good luck on all but one more. And it's not that the app doesn't work, I am talking about the Yahoo Weather app, It works fine, but when you swipe between cities the screen lags a bit and it sometimes doesn't move between pages the way it should. On iOS 7.1.2 it was smooth as butter but on iOS 8.0, not so much. I will post a note in the app store to let them know. I really like the Yahoo app better than the new stock app.
I have been going through my games and they all work fine. Angry Birds (Original and Stella), Canabalt, Minecraft, Bejeweled 2, Silly Walks, PopWords, Doodle Jump, Deep Green all seem to work just fine.
Starbucks app works as it should.
I will stop back again next week after I have had the weekend to play with it in detail and post my thoughts again. -
My 6th generation nano isn't recognized by my computer. When I plug it in an error message pops up, which says "USB Device Not Recognized". Does anyone know how to start trouble shooting this? I updated both windows and iTunes.

I have a second generation shuffle and even though (after charging) the green battery light is on it soon turns orange and red. Is there a problem with the battery and if so is it fixable?
If it's a 2nd gen shuffle, it is probably about six years old at this point. The cause is likely to be a worn out battery that is no longer able to hold its charge for very long.
It is technically fixable. This web site has repair guides

But it is very small, so you need to be good at doing such things. The cost to have a repair shop do the work is likely to be uneconomical, compared to the cost of a brand new 4th gen shuffle ($50), which has more features (and possibly double the storage) plus a one-year warranty. -
new out of box , unable to switch on is there a problem with the battery as i thopugh it should be partly charged.
Plug it in for 15 minutes. If it doesn't come on hold the HOME button (the round one) and the SLEEP button (the one on the top) at the same time until an Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds). If nothing appears on the screen after 30 seconds you have a dead phone; take it back for exchange.

I purchased an iPhone 4s on 5/3/2012. Yesterday (7/17/2012) the battery started draining very quickly. I always make sure to close and kill any apps after I finish using them. I haven't had any problem with the battery until yesterday afternoon. Any suggestions?
