HT4191 how do you copy or transfer notes into your iCloud account?

they are on a local folder "on my ipod" how do i get them all into my icloud all at once?

I'm trying to sync any way I can. I just upgraded to Mountain Lion. If there is a way to sync through iTunes I would be over the moon.... alas.... no longer an option in Mountain Lion.
Back to my original issue.... can anyone tell me how to sync my last 3 years of notes?
I'd be happy if I were missing something and there was a way.....?
As far as I can tell there is NO way to do it, and I'll be emailing hundred of individual notes to myself in order to sync them in any way.
And if I'm wrong then iCloud doesn't suck. So far it's looking like it does. Big time.

New computer but Photostream does not work.  I am signed into my account but get the following message:  In order to use Photo Stream, you have to be signed into your iCloud account in System Preferences.  I go to system preferences and then get a message that says that my account cannot be accessed.  However, I am using my icloud account for email and other items and it works fine.  Any thoughts?

Are you getting this messages in iPhoto? If so try the following (again?):
Log out of iCloud in the System/iCloud preference pane and disable Photo Stream in iPhoto's Photo Share preference pane.  Then log back in and re-enable, respectively.  That should jump start Photo Stream.

  • HT4191 And exactly how do you "copy or transfer notes to iCloud or IMAP"?

I use Notes a LOT. All the time.
Upgraded from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion and of course, had to use iCloud to sync Notes. Except that only a quarter of them showed up.
Most of them were "on my iphone" and not associated with any "account".
Can someone please tell me WHY?
All i ever did was create them and edit them.
PLEASE tell me I don't have to manually copy and paste the notes individually from "my Iphone" to an account or something like that.
Apple stuff usually just works... but so far iCloud and mountain lion have relegated a vast amount of important Note information to a lone iPhone, without backup. This is messed up.

  • How do you view iPhone/iPad Notes on your Mac laptop?

How do you set up to view the Notes on your iPhone or iPad through iCloud on your Mac laptop?  I'm unable to figure it out.  I am running the latest versions of OS and IOS.  I would like my Notes to always sync through iCloud.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.  - Terry

On your iPhone and iPad, go to Settings>iCloud, sign in with your Apple ID to create your iCloud account and turn Notes to On (you will also need to set up an iCloud email account in order to sync notes with iCloud, even if you don't use it).  Confirm that in Settings>Notes that the Default Account is set to iCloud.
On you MBP, go to System Preferences>iCloud, sign into your iCloud account and check Notes.  Open the Notes app and confirm that Notes>Default Account is set to iCloud.
After that new notes should sync between your devices using iCloud as long as you haven't selected a different account to create the note in.  If you have existing notes on your iOS devices that were created prior to setting up iCloud notes syncing, you'll have to copy and paste the text into new notes created in the iCloud account in order to sync them with iCloud.  Any notes on your Mac that are not in the iCloud account can simply be dragged and dropped to iCloud within the Notes app in order to add them to iCloud.

  • How can I retrieve my stored notes from my iCloud account to my new iPhone?

My old iPhone decided to go swimming. I had my info(notes, Contacts, mail etc.,) stored on icloud. I bought a new iPhone and when I went to set everything up with iTunes and iCloud, all of my data was retrieved except my notes. I was prompted to create an iCloud address in order to use the notes feature. I need those notes! What can I do???
    Thanks,
    Ryan

Are you signed into your iCloud account and are notes still on?
If you are signed in on your new iphone and your notes are on, I'm unsure what to say.

    1.  you may have to take it in to Apple and get an out of warranty iphone for $199.
    2.  you can get your information from a backup of your phone.  you do have a backup of your phone right either in iTunes or icloud.  If you don't then your answer will be no.

The submit button is included automatically. If you are distributing your form as HTML you can use the Test tab to preview your form. If you are distributing your form as PDF, you would need to generate the PDF to see the submit button.

  • How can I transfer "notes" from one icloud account to another, and other account questions

    Hey,
    I currently have 2 icloud accounts. (In total I have 4 seperate apple ids somehow, 1 @me.com, 1 @icloud.com, 1 @gmail.com, and 1 apple id. But that's a problem I'll talk about later).
Right now, all of my notes got deleted from my iphone, but they are on the icloud account A: (@me.com account's icloud.) When I reconnect this account to my iphone, the notes are there. However, when I turn off note syncing in my iphone's icloud settings, I'm not prompted to "keep data on iphone" (like I am prompted with contacts). Instead, they are just deleted from the iphone. So there's no way to connect the icloud account A, download the data, and reconnect icloud account B.
How can I get these notes from icloud account A to icloud account B (or just getting it from icloud account A to my iphone.)
And while I'm at it, how can I get the @icloud account that was linked with the @me.com account to get linked to the @gmail.com account.
    Sorry if this is confusing.

Let me rephrase my comment...  I used Windows to sync my data without icloud, we decided to switch to mac and purchased a $2000 osx driven machine only to find out apple has "secretly" disabled mobile sync services and replaced it with icloud syncing.  There was NO documentation stating this fact before my purchase, it was only realized when users started running into syncing issues that apple disclosed mavericks no longers uses mobile syncing services and "requires you to use icloud to sync device information" on this forum.
They removed a integral part of my privacy without telling me, or warning me, before i spent money on non-refundable merchandice.
These are not mindless, I was forced into mavericks when i purchased a new mac... All other versions of OSX provide modile syncing services.
And I was not threatening lawsuit, i was stating a thought that this leavs apple open to a lawsuit for people who want their data kept private, they are FORCING the use of icloud now.

  • TS4020 Is there a way to copy or transfer contacts from one icloud account to another?

My wife and I just upgraded from the 4S to the 5C, but apparently we were using the same icloud account, and now we need to separate them so that we can make changes and not have it affect the other phone.

To migrate your wife's phone to a new account, start by saving any photo stream photos whe wishes to keep to her camera roll (unless already there) by opening her my photo stream album, tapping Select, tap the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward pointing arrow), then tapping Save to Camera Roll.  If she only wants to migrate a copy of the contacts and not other data, go to Settings>iCloud on her phone, turn Contacts off, choose Keep on My iPhone, then scroll down and tap Delete Account (which only deletes it from this device, not from iCloud; your phone won't be effected by this) and choose Keep on My iPhone and provide the password to turn off Find My iPhone when prompted.  Then sign back in with a different Apple ID to create her new account and choose Merge to upload the data to the new account.
If she wants to migrate a copy of all of the iCloud data to her new account, and is syncing notes with iCloud that she wishes to transfer to the new account, you will need to open each note and email them to her so she can later copy and paste the text into new notes created in her new account.  Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, choose Keep on My iPhone and provide the password to turn off Find My iPhone when prompted.  Then sign back in with a different Apple ID to create her new account and choose Merge to upload the data to the new account.  Once you are both on separate accounts you can each go to icloud.com and delete the other person's data from your account if you need to.

  • How do you get access to everything in your iCloud from your macbook?

My phone was stolen and I am trying to get my contacts, note, photos, and all those things that should be in my iCloud through my macbook, but I do not know how to do so.

Assuming all your data on the phone was synced to icloud (i.e. the iphone was registered with iCloud), then your mac should have that data on it, since (assuming the mac is also registered with icloud) it has been syncing that data to/from it all along.  Just use iCal, Address Book, etc. on the mac and the data should be there.  Photos will only be there if you turned on photo stream and have been moving pics from the photo stream album in iPhoto or Aperture to another permanent album.  (Photo stream keeps pics for 30 days before they are removed from photo stream.)  I believe notes should be in your mail application, since that's where notes on the phone end up on the mac.
You can also reach the data on iCloud via any browser on a computer, just log into icloud.com and look at the various sections for your data.  If it's not there, then nothing has been syncing through icloud.

  • How do you permanently delete a movie from your iCloud/iTunes?

I bought a movie on iTunes and ever since i got the latest IOS version i now have a duplicate of the movie (in the video app) i purchased (on iPad 2). i don't need both so i would really like to know the easiest way to safely delete one. i appreciate any advice!
    thank you!

I suspect one is the HD version and one is the standard version, both of which are often available to download again as a previous purchase from the iTunes store when you purchase a movie.  They aren't stored in your personal iCloud account and therefore don't use any of your storage.  The cloud symbols are just links to your previous purchases in the iTunes store.  They can't be deleted but if you don't want to see one of them, you can hide it in iTunes on your computer and it shouldn't be visible on your iPad any longer (see iTunes Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases).

This has nothing to do with Classic, the operating system on Macs from 2001 and earlier.  Please post in the forums most likely to have an answer if you want a quick one:

  • How can you copy information from Safari into Pages

Is there a way to easily copy data, such as financial tables from Safari into Pages and maintain the integrity of the table and the data within it?  When I copy and paste it comes out all misaligned and into multiple pages.  The same thing happens if I try to highlight the table in Safari and drag it into Pages.  Is there not a "paste special" function in Pages like there is in Microsoft??

    See:

You can then drag the resulting image into a Pages document, and position.
