HT4199 I am having the problem of "connection timed out" suddenly after almost two years of use of the same internet connection.
I had left my apple to download an update on OS Lion overnight and found that the Mac had been disconnected from the internet with a window showing the words 'Connection timed out". I have tried all sort of stuff including turning off and switching on my modem, the Mac, deleting entirely the key chain access (at the loss of all my other passwords which I am now rebuilding), deleting the network in my Settings and trying Assist Me to register again, all in VAIN!
Please help.
Connection timed out to what? Everything? If so, then before wiping your disk, reinstalling, further deleting your keychain entries or other related activities, please check with your ISP and see if there's a network outage, or if you've exceeded some download quota.

when i try to open my itues it says "iTunes could not connect to the iTunes store. The Network connection timed out. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, and try again"
I am having similar issues except that the store starts to load, then stops, then I only get iTunes Store in gray letters on a white screen. I can access playlist and the other stuff. Like flamesgirl, I contacted them and they just keep sending me links of stuff to try which I had already seen on the Apple website and nothing works. I posted the question on another forum I belong to and one responder said her husband was in an Apple store and asked about this problem as he was having the same issue. They said an update would be coming out soon as they were aware of the problem. Who knows.

I keep getting this error message when I try to log into Itunes, has anyone else seen this error? If so how did you fix it?
Itunes could not connect to itunes store. The network connection timed out. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, and try again.Have you disabled any firewall and security/antivirus programs? This seems to have helped the vast majority of people who have posted the same problem in this forum.

When updating to iOS 5.0.1. get the err -3259, thus unable to install new iOS. The message I receive goes: "THE NETWORK CONNECTION TIMED OUT. MAKE SURE YOUR NETWORK SETTINGS ARE CORRECT AND YOUR NETWORK CONNECTION IS ACTIVE, OR TRY AGAIN LATER."
Does anyone know how to solve this tiresome problem, please!?? The update is downloaded upto 723.5MB, and is required upto 723,6MB, then the error message pops out! Tnx.I have a quick wifi connection (Mac shows it as about 35 megabits) but I couldn't get the 5.0.1 OTA to work, I had to do it via cable to my computer's iTunes - and as I was already on iOS 5 it was only a small download, basically the same size as the OTA size.
As the original poster is talking about a 730 meg download then I assume that they are still on iOS 4.3.5 or below and can therefore only download via their computer's iTunes - you need to be on iOS 5+ before you get the OTA option. -
I need help updating my iPad to ios 5, without it telling me that the network connection timed out.
You can download the correct iOS upgrade manually to your computer and then apply it to your iPad using the iTunes app on your computer. After you have downloaded the correct upgrade press the Option/Alt key and click on the Check for Update button in the iTunes app. Browse to the file on your computer, select it and iTunes will do the rest to install it.

Please help me out.. thank you
I have Windows 7 and after going through several suggestions, the one that worked for me was this:
A Dell service representative removed an expired version of McAfee and a half *** version of Norton Antivirus (problem #1: I should only have one functioning virusware up, not two or more)...I then purchased a reliable Antivirus + Cleaner from the Dell rep and he installed it.
The Dell rep then noticed that when he checked my computer properties, I had the following:
Windows 7 Home Premium
Copyright (c) 2009 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.
Service Pack 1 <I WAS MISSING THIS PARTICULAR ITEM; THE DELL REP ADDED THIS>
Once the Dell rep did this, I was able to access my iTunes Store and get things updated from 10.5 to 10.6....It took 2 hours, but glad it got done. -
The network connection is fine, it is working but this always happens - any ideas ?
I just had the same problem updating my iPhone 4. I found out by turning my Kaspersky virus protection OFF, then everything worked out, and I was able to update my phone.
Virus protection programs can cause alot of problems sometime, so it's worth a try if you haven't already tried. -
My daughter forgot her password on touch. We have tried to restore, but after 6 or 7 minutes we get a connection timedout error message and it says to try again later. I turned off firewalls, but that did not help. Any suggestions?
Disabling the computer's antivirus and firewall during the download and restore usually resolves that problem.

Suddenly unable to connect to Orange Livebox after over a year of use
I have been able to successfully connect to my Orange Livebox since getting my Ipod touch over a year ago but suddenly can't any longer. My livebox shows the Ipod as paired & Wifi enabled & my Ipod can see my Livebox but just wont connect. It says unable to join Livebox. It asks for the password which I enter (I never had to do that before it started playing up) but it still wont let me in.
I've treid to reset back to factory settings & reset network. It won't let me "forget this network" & try to pair again.
Any ideas most welcome please as I'm getting very frustrated.
Thank you."E_ADEPT_IO ActivationServiceInfo...", means that ADE could not contact the Adobe activation server (adeactivate.adobe.com). If you network is setup correctly and you can get to the server in the browser, then the next most likely problem is a firewall (McAffee, LittleSnitch, etc...) prevent ADE from getting outside network access.

Well, the iBook's fan finally turned on after almost a year.
I had Camino, iTunes, Quicktime, Office 2004, and AppleWorks all running at the same time. That's amazing for an outdated laptop with such a small amount of RAM. My old original Mac Mini with only 256 megs could only dream of such abuse. Just thought I would post some positive Apple news for a change. Oh, and the OS 10.4.9 update was flawless.
If you added Photoshop CS2, Aperture, or Final Cut Pro to the list, then I'd be impressed.
For a change, it's nice to see some positive news in the forum! -
Cannot login to Facebook on my iPhone 5 iOS 8.1 - Connection timed out - Error signing in
The other day, I had logged out of Facebook on my iPhone, and when I tried logging back in, it wouldn't let me. When I try to log in through the settings page, it stays on verifying for a while and says "Error signing in" and tells me there is no internet connection and when I try logging in through the facebook app, it says "Connection timed out" and asks me to make sure i have an active internet connection. The fact is my internet is working, and I can log in to facebook through safari, but not my app.
And one more thing. I have tried most of the methods mentioned in the forums. I have spent the last 2 days trying all of them from trying to create a new account using the old details, remove the phone number from facebook and try again, hard reboot by pressing the home and power buttons, resetting network and privacy settings, and reinstalling the app about 3-4 times. None of these work.
I'd be grateful if somebody can help me out with this .
