HT4199 My 2010 MBP 15 keeps dropping the wifi signal or not initializing at all. I have been to Genius bar 5 times with no fix...help
After 5 trips to the Genius bar, my MBP 15" mid 2010 still drops any wifi connection (except for the one at the Apple Store) sometimes it will not even connect at all except by ethernet. I travel and use many different wi fi systems. This has just started in the last month. I am running Lion 10.7.4. can anyone out there help since Apple can't? This is th very last Apple I will ever purchase.
Looks then it's either of 2 things.
An interference issue at home or...
Your location settings...
Sometimes when moving around constantly to different locations, funny things can start to happen due to the way the WiFi tries to connect and guess as to the best network to try to connect to, etc.
Next time it starts to drop off, go to your preferred network list, and delete everything there.
If it still persists, we can try a dozen other tricks.
Or, we could simply pull the entire configuration folder right now, then reboot and see what hapens.

For your issue - Solution may be found if you search in the "More Like This" section over in the right column.
Change your router channel. Sometimes this is all you will have to do.
Power cycling the router. Read the router's user manual or contact their tech support for instructions.
System Preferences/Internet & Network/Network
Unlock the padlock
Locations: Automatic
Highlight Airport
Click the Assist Me button
In the popup window click the Diagnostic button.
System Preferences/Network- Unlock padlock. Highlight Airport. Network Name-select your name. Click on the Advanced button. Airport/Preferred Networks-delete all that is not your network.
Place a check mark next to "Remember networks this computer has joined." Click the OK button and lock the padlock. Restart your computer.

No internet connection (wireless)
Check to see if an extra entry is present in the DNS Tab for your wireless connection (System Preferences/Network/Airport/Advanced/DNS).
Delete all extra entries that you find.
Place a check mark next to "Remember networks this computer has joined."

i cannot get my exchange mail on my iphone 4s anymore. I have been to the genious br 4 times and most recently they gave me anew phone but that still did not fix it. I have checked everyhting out with the servers but the phone updates from the server for contatcs and calendar but not mail. it is not the server. and other staff who work for me have the same phones and connect with the same server and do not have the proble.

I have had that issue with no text alert sound and also with calls, no ring for the call but then I got a missed call or voicemail alert. Never had the blurry lines though. Right after I upgraded, the ring changed to a very short version of what I have selected and only rang once, other times not at all. This was a very big problem since I am working from my car most of the day and get a lot of calls and texts. I did a reset with home button and button on the top as described in a post somewhere here on the forum and the problems stopped. So far so good. Give reset a try!

How can I download itunes when I get the following errors ..ituneshelper did not install correctly error 7..I .have installed and uninstalled a dozen times with various fixes...b noir for example and used Revo to clean up.
This has been a problem for 6 weeks now, I retry when I have time and patience and use my other laptop which is also Windows 7 and runs with no problem.
Every attempt fails when all seems fine on the desktop and I try to log on to Itunes I get the errors.

Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (If this won't uninstall press on)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.

Should you get the error iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found after the above reinstall then copy QTMovieWin.dll from:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
and paste into:
C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
The above paths would be for a 64-bit machine. Hopefully the same fix with the " (x86)" omitted would work on 32-bit systems with the same error.

Have you tried resetting network settings, then unplugging modem and router from power for 40 seconds then plugging back in letting the lights stabilize and Then recconecting with the ipod>? -

I just got a verizon ipad and am having wifi connection problems. It will connect to my wifi but every 5 or 10 minutes it will drop the connection. The only way to get it back is to go and manually connect to it again in the wifi settings.
Is anyone else having this problem? My android tablet and phone and laptop do not have this problem.It appears hundreds are having this problem. You must not have done a search for this subject before posting. Try a search for "wifi connection problem on iPad 3" and you'll get lots of information regarding this problem and a few suggestions you can try.

I would phone your local apple store and arrange a genius appointment as there may be a problem with the wireless card. Annoying I know Yes but these things happen and you'll be covered under waranty

SteinarThe default has always been PNG. You must have changed the default some time in the past. It can easily be done with 3rd party utilities, i.e., TinkerTool, Secrets, MacPilot, etc..
Personally, I prefer using "jpegs."
