HT4199 Problem Syncing with Itunes wirelessly but can still connect to wi-fi.

I can access wi-fi from my Iphone 4s and the internet but can't connect to itunes wirelessly to sync the phone.  Was working fine and then just stoppped. Can stilll sync when plugged in but can't use certain apps that require wireless syncing only.

First connect your iPhone to your computer, click on iPhone than check mark "Sync using Wi-Fi. There your problem is fixed. Make sure your computer and iPhone is connected to the same network.

What's the proper protocol for a reset on my ipod touch 4g?  iOS 6 has totally jacked it up and it will no longer do anything but crash, and won't sync with itunes wirelessly or by cable.
It's a 64G ipod touch and was fine till Apple told me to upgrade to ios 6.  Now most of my apps crash, my music won't play and I just get a white screen when I hit Music.
When I try to sync to itunes it acts like it's going to sync and appears to recognize the ipod, but it's grayed out and has an update circle by it that spins for a while until itunes eventually freezes alltogether.  Is there a  way to go back to ios 5 after a erase and reset?

    1) authorize iTunes on your wife's user account for her iTunes store account(s)
    2) connect the device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
    3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPhone but, since you transferred her purchases in the previous step, your content will be in her library and you can re-populate the iPhone with it.

OUR IPOD SHUFFLE KEEPS TRYING TO SYNC WITH ITUNES.  WE HAVE SEVERAL DEVICES ---2 IPOD SHUFFLES AND AN IPAD.  THE PROBLEM STARTED WHEN WE WERE SETTING UP OUR NEW IPAD BEING ABLE TO SHARE MUSIC PURCHASED IN ITUNES WITH THE IPAD.
FOR THE POD'S WE WANT TO MANUALLY COPY PURCHASED SONGS FROM ITUNES TO OUR IPADS.  WE HAVE TRIED EVERY MENU TRYING TO TURN OFF THE SYNCING FUNCTION BUT CAN'T.  IT ONLY HAPPENS ON 1 OF OUR IPODS.
ITUNES ON MY DESK TOP SEES THE PROBLEM IPOD AND IMMEDIATELY TRIES TO SYNC AND AGAIN DOES THIS EVERY TIME YOU TRY TO COPY A SONG FROM THE DESK TOP TO THE IPOD.
WE VERIFIED THAT THE IPOD HAS THE LATEST S/W VERSION.
    ANY HELP WOLD BE APPRECIATED

It is - came over from a Droid (was a former 3G user)... forgot how smooth and seamless the iPhone experience was. The Droid was nice, and Android is interesting, but the iPhone is so much simpler and easy. I hacked the heck out of the Droid, and it's so nice to be back on a smooth, "just works" phone.
    Anyway, thanks again.

  • IPhone 5 will not sync with iTunes so I can activate!

    Hello,
I just received 2 iPhone 5s and am having a problem getting one activated. The first one is fine. I followed all the steps on the phone, synced with iTunes and am ready to activate with my carrier. However the second one did not work. I followed the steps and it appears to freeze during the sync process with iTunes.
I am upgrading from iPhone 3 with both phones.
Each phone has a separate iTunes account on separate laptops.
While attempting to activate the phone (in question) the first time, the encrypted password box popped up and we do not use the password for updates. Could not get it past that after a few trys but then it synced. The sync was fast and after it completed nothing happened. The phone still showed "Connected to iTunes" and would not go to the next step.
    Anyone have this problem?
    Thanks
    Jim

Thanks. We actually contacted Apple and they gave the same suggestion. Finally got it past the sync portion and have the phone activated. howeve, it did not transfer over contacts, notes, etc . . .

  • I have ipad2 wifi3G and downloaded ios5 no problems syncing with itunes until just recently. Am unable to finish sync. Anything?

i'm having trouble with sync with  itunes. ihave upgraded to ios5 and have 3Gwifi ipad2

Are you using a computer that has perviously been authorized for the Digital Downloads? have you authorized your iPad? I had the same issue with migrating apps from an iPod Touch to a Verizon iPhone 4. Once I signed in with the Apple ID on the device and authorized the compute with the same Apple ID, I was able to sync the apps. Hope this helps.
FYI, I am having issues playing movies with more than 2channel Audio in IOS 4.3, be mindful of the number of audio channels your digital downloads have.

  • Alias dropped but can still connect with the same

    Hi,
I had 2 instances of sql server on server machine -
XYZ05 (SQLServer 2008R2 which was default instance and port was 1433) and XYZ05\SQL2012 (New named instance and port was 40196)
Due to some requirement we un-installed XYZ05 instance, team wanted to connect XYZ05\SQL2012 instance using default instance i.e. XYZ05. So, we created alias with same name and changed
the port from 40196 to 1433 and it was working fine.
Now, I have dropped the alias but I can still connect the server using same alias. I have checked registry, cliconfg.exe, restarted the service and server. However, I can still connect
    using the alias.
Can you please tell what I missed to check or what could be the reason for alias still working?
    Thanks!!

    Hello,
It's because the default port 1433 is used, that's why you can only use the machine name to connect to.

  • IPhone - Problems Syncing with iTunes

    Hi,
Can anyone help with a an iPhone syncing issue:
    - I recently upgraded to iTunes 9.0.1 and my 3GS (OS3.1) will no longer sync smoothly with iTunes.
    On connection:
    - iPhone shows up in iTunes Devices list
    - iTunes displays the message "An iPhone has previously been synced with this computer"
    - iTunes then asks me to "SET UP YOUR iPHONE" - giving only two options:
    .... [ SET UP A NEW iPHONE ]
    .... [ RESTORE A BACKUP OF iPHONE (Pulldown) ]
    - At this stage I have no other options available.
So, not wanting to set up a new iPhone, because it isn't, I try the "RESTORE" option, which I don't really want to do, but it's an up to date copy of the iPhone... So not a biggie. It runs for a while then restarts.
Now, none of this is a huge problem, but it's a real pain in the a*se having to restore the iPhone each time it's connected to the Mac.
    Any ideas?

Having the same issue with 3G 3.0 OS!!
Please help, last backup was a month ago and I don't want to lose a month of info.

  • HT1212 ihave an iod touch tHt is diable. i ithinks its been synced with itunes before but i do not have that computer it was synced with what should i do

i just bought an ipod touch tht is disabled, i think its been synced with a computer already but i do not have the one its been synced to . I dont kno anything about it other than the fact of who owned it locked themselves out of it and didnt feel like messing with it. how do it get it to wrk iv already tried restoring it, it keeps telling me that it is unable to connect to itunes after its about ten minutes into the reestoration process. what should i do or how can i get this thing to work please help me

    Update Server
    Try:
    - Powering off and then back on your router.
    - iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
    - Change the DNS to either Google's or Open DNS servers
    Public DNS — Google Developers
    OpenDNS IP Addresses
    - For one user uninstalling/reinstalling iTunes resolved the problem
    - Try on another computer/network
    - Wait if it is an Apple problem
    Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
    iOS: How to back up
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:

  • HT2292 I have an Ipod tough 2nd generation. Had no problems syncing with old pc but cant on new. Have done troubelshooting as suggest & still nothing. Any ideas?

I have tried everything even uninstalling & reinstalling Itunes for the 64bit.  All the troubleshooting steps provided in Itunes help. I still cannot get Itunes to recognize my Ipod or my computer to recognize it as a plugged in device.  I am at my wits end.  Does anyone have any ideas or had similar problem? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.  Also was told to try to update the software but am unable to do that also.  There is no update software option under the general settings on the ipod and since it won't sync I can't do it through Itunes either.  Thanks in advance.

I am experiencing similar issues. iPod is recognized, brand new PC, have 8GB of memory and a 2TB HDD, and I keep getting an error saying I don't have enough memory and the iTunes library file can't be saved. Then the program will freeze up and I have to Ctrl/Alt/Delete to exit, and half my songs I checked are unchecked upon restarting.
I think it's an iTunes issue, not a hardware issue.
The problem is Apple simply doesn't care. I think they put bugs in the Windows versions to try to force customers onto their products.
I NEVER had this issue with the 32-bit versions of iTunes either.

  • Is it possible to sync with iTunes wirelessly?

    Hi!
I have a 2nd Generation iPod touch with version 2.2, and I was hoping it would be possible to sync music and movies etc. wirelessly. It appears there is no bluetooth on the device, so I have tried creating a computer - computer network from my iMac. I have succeeded in getting both my iPod and my iMac to connect to this network, but I have not found a way to communicate between the machines. Am I heading in the right direction to sync wirelessly, or is there another way?
    Thanks in advance,
    Jimmy

No, you can't sync a Touch to iTunes wirelessly. It's not currently a built in option and I haven't heard of any workarounds.
You can submit your feedback to Apple and let them know it's a feature you want.

  • HT201269 Best Buy started the setup assistant on my new iPhone 5 and now I can't make it sync with iTunes.  How can I reset and start over?

I bought an iPhone 5 at Best Buy, and they started the setup assistant process.  Now I can't go back and start over so I can sync my phone to my iTunes account.  I have an old iPhone 3GS and didn't use the iCloud.  I backed up to my computer.  And now I can't reset my iPhone 5 to sync to my iTunes.
    Help.

I purchased a iPhone 5, and after completing a backup of my old iPhone 3GS, I in error selected Set Up as a New iPhone in the Setup Assistant.
I connected to iTunes and did a Restore iPhone, which set the iPhone5 back to factory defaults, and I was able to restart the Setup Assistant, and following the apple support instructions, restored from my 3GS backup and synced with my iTunes account.  The Restore kept my phone number intact.
I was worried that I would lose the setup of my phone number that was done in the store, but everything worked perfectly.

  • Ipod Touch will not sync with home iMac but can with other macs

My daughters iPod Touch will not sync with her iMac anymore.
It will with my MacBook Pro but not with her iMac.
We are both running Snow Leopard.
Is there a toggle or setting that needs to be changed.
    I've looked but no joy.
Thanks in advance for your help.

If iTunes is not seeing the iPod then try:
(Mac OS X v10.6 or later: iOS device not recognized in iTunes after restart)
