  • I just want to make a genius bar appointment!

I hate this new interface! I just want to make a genius bar appointment and they have made it so dang difficult if not nearly impossible. I don't want to wait on the phone for an hour to talk to someone and I don't want to talk to someone on the phone! I just want to make an appointment at the store!!!!!!

Go to: http://www.apple.com/retail/storelist/.  Click the store you want, then on Genius bar and you can make an appointment that way.

  • How do I make a genius bar appointment?

Bought new iPhone 6 that should arrive around Dec. 5th.  I don't have the serial number yet (bought from carrier) but wanted to make a genius bar appointment to transfer info from old to new iPhone.  Can I make an appointment without having a serial # yet?  Can I make an appointment on line?  Thanks ...

Not sure if you can make the appointment now, but the following is the starting point for making an appointment online: Transfer content from an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to a new device - Apple Support
Regarding the reason for the appointment, the following has instructions on how to transfer data from an old iPhone to a new one via either iCloud or iTunes if you want to consider doing it yourself: Transfer content from an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to a new device - Apple Support

  • Make a genius bar appointment?

The "make a genius bar appointment" seems to be missing from the online support options. At least I spent 15 minutes trying to find it, then called my local store to see if they could tell me how to do it, and they couldn't. Is Apple doing away with all those geniuses?
If someone—from any of the support communities—could suggest how I can do this online I would appreciate it.  Thanks

I couldn't get get to Genius Bar from there today (though I had many times in the past). It kept taking me to a screen that said: call, chat, or leave a number. The local Apple Store person I eventually called said Appke was ”encouraging people" to experience the pleasure of solving problems "on our own." I suggested to him that the folks at his genius bar might start looking for a job.

  • Can't make a Genius Bar appointment

I went in to my local Apple store today because my Mac crashed and the message was due to no memory. When they checked it, they said it had to be seen by a Genius Bar tech and to go home and make an online appt. I have done this many times so imagine my surprise at the new website navigation and the absolute impossibility of getting to the Genius Bar page. Apple is doing everything in its power not to provide this service- from blocking out days previously to not allowing customers to make an appt. They want to force me on to the Paid Service option.
How do I make this appointment. Part of the reason I always loved Apple was its superior customer service. Seems that reality is gone.....

    originalewrote:
when was the last time you tried? They have changed things, You  CANNOT schedule a genius bar appt directly anymore. You have to call and they want to charge you for the cal
The last time I made an on-line genius bar appt was November 20, 2014.
So yes you can, unless they changed something in the last 7 days?
I was out of warranty as well,  it was not an issue and I was not charged anything for doing so.
Granted it is more difficult then before, I tried to walk you through it above.  Good luck.  You can always call your store.

  • I did not make a Genius Bar appointment

I received an email about an hour ago that told me I had made a Genius Bar appointment at the South Shore location for Monday. I looked at the links in the email and the headers and nothing jumps out at me as fishy. I am not sure if my ITMS account has been compromised. My ITMS account is a different email than the one I use to post here at Apple Support.
For the time being, I've changed my password and removed my payment info via iTunes, but I wanted to know if this was a known spam/phishing attempt or if it sounds like my account has been compromised.

I too have gotten emails supposedly from Apple confirming appointments at various Apple stores. I got the first on October 18 for "Personal Projects" at the South Coast Plaza store and the second on October 26 for "Sharing Your Movies with Others" at the Fashion Island store. Both contained my real name in a salutation within the body of the email. After the first bogus appointment I changed my Apple ID password and waited. Today I got the second appointment confirmation. Something fishy is definitely going on. These stores are in California and I live in Florida. Plus I have not made any appointments at any Apple store for many months. Both emails are from [email protected]

  • I have recently found it impossible to make a genius bar appointment on line. has anyone else had the same problem? is this a deliberate Apple policy? or have they accidentally put in a number of loops into their website?

difficulty booking genius bar appointments on line.

It is my understanding that they're trying to get more information from you and offer other possible support options first. They probably want to cut down on unnecessary appointments by attempting to resolve simple issues online and are also trying to avoid some situations where people were booking multiple appointments for a variety of reasons.
I made one a couple of weeks ago with no problems. It was for a screen repair so it was pretty definitely not an issue that could be resolved by chat or a phone call.

  • 3 Dead Pixels after Blue Screen crash, should I make another Genius Bar appointment?

Ok, so yesterday I made a GB appointment, after a friend told me to, when I showed him that I had a dead pixel on my phone's screen. So when I got to apple, I showed them the dead pixel and they told me they were going to replace the screen on the phone. It turned out that the machine they use to do so, was down, so they ended up giving me a replacement phone. So I checked it out at the store and it looked fine. So now today, while running some errands, my new replacement iPhone had crashed and turned blue, then rebooted on me & a few moments after when I got back on the phone and was imessaging, I noticed 3 dead pixels instantly (one on right under the names of the contact on the message, on the J key on the board and to the middle-right where your send messages are displayed)
Now I'm thinking that, because my originally iPhone had crashed and turned blue also and I noticed the one dead pixel on it that same day, that the blue screen crashing could possibly be causing this??
Should I go back to the apple store and tell them what happened?

(Update) the pixels actually all seem to be red, whenever I go on a yellow screen and I just noticed a fourth one.    I think I should take my phone in

  • Why can't you book a Genius Bar appointment online anymore?

They have removed the option to make a Genius Bar appointment.  Why on earth would they do that?

The method has changed - see my post here if you only have a Mac; if you have an iDevice, follow Frank's instructions in the same thread:
how do you make a genius bar appointment?

  • Why can't I make a genius bar reservation online?

I have spent nearly 30 minutes trying to make a Genius bar reservation. Website site says "it's easy and quick."  Well, no, it isn't. It used to be, but it isn't any longer. I keep getting to the point where I am asked to pay $29 for a phone call, or to submit a service ticket. All I want to do is to go the store and talk to someone without having to wait in line for an hour. It is NOT an option to make a genius bar reservation online. I even called, and was sent the link to make the online appointment . . . which resulted in exactly the same dead end.
What am I supposed to do in order to make a reservation?  Screen shots or bullet-point steps would be helpful, because the system is not performing the way it says it should.

Thank you. I did stumble upon this idea after I wrote my question and it works! Not sure what's up with the website -- seems like Apple should be more on top of user interface than they are.  Thanks for responding.

  • My Macbook is not working properly, I went to a Genius Bar appointment, they were not helpful at all and just told me to go off and reboot my Mac and then restore via TimeMachine. I dont know how to do this. I am extremely displeased with Apple, help me?

My late 2011 Macbook Pro is not working properly it is very slow and extremely painful to use, I went to a Genius Bar appointment, they were not helpful at all and just told me to go off and reboot my Mac and then restore via TimeMachine. I dont know how to do this. I am extremely displeased with Apple at the moment, can someone please help me?

Your problem description is generalized and non-specific. I would make another appointment at the Apple store and insist they help you execute their suggested fixes.
Incidentally, if you search this site, Apple has excellent articles re: restoring a system.

  • Are Genius Bar appointments logged to your apple I.D. or your serial number?

I took my MBP into the Genius Bar today and I completely messed up my description of what was up and the Genius gave me a quote for a part I know for a fact is functioning perfectly due to my lackluster synopsis. Anyway, my question is a simple yes/no question, please no answers offering alternate solutions. Just want to know whether Genius Bar appointments are logged on the system so they could see I've been in today if I wanted to go in tomorrow. If so are they linked to my Apple ID or MacBook serial number? If it's the ID it's fine as I can use my Dad's but if it's the serial number I can't really take it in again. Just a yes or no answer please. Thanks guys

Even though you have specifically asked, why are you worried about a second appointment with a different ID. The serial number is already registered to an applied if it was originally set up that way. You can check that in https://supportprofile.apple.com .
