HT4235 having a problem syncing my new ipod

having a problem syncing up my new ipod, any suggestions?

The device will get a little warm during game play. If this becomes a concern I would take it to an Apple store to be checked out.

    Don't know why you would.
You can sync as many ipods/iphones/ipads as you like.

  • TS1424 I'm having a hardtime syncing my new ipod shuffle, get a message that says my songs are not found

I'm having a difficult time transfering my songs to my new ipod shuffle 4th generation. A message says that my songs are not found. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Not sure what procedure you are using, but you should do it this way...
First, if the sidebar (along left side of iTunes window) is not visible, from the iTunes menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.
In the sidebar, find and select the shuffle under DEVICES.  There is a bar with buttons toward the top, starting with Summary.  Click on Music next to Summary.  This is the shuffle's Music screen, where you tell iTunes how to sync songs to the shuffle.
Check the box for Sync Music.  Choose the option to sync Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres.  Under Playlists, find and checkmark that 12-song playlist.  Click Apply.
Going forward, you can update that playlist (add/remove songs) in your iTunes library.  The next time you connect the shuffle (or click Sync if already connected), iTunes automatically updates the shuffle with the same changes.

  • HT2905 Many (most) of my songs in my library have multiplied. I now have doubles and triples of my music. I don't know why it has done this or how to fix this problem. This is a new problem since I synced a new ipod touch this week.

Many(most) of my songs in my library have multiplied. I now have doubles and triples of my music. This is a new problem that started this week when I synced my new ipod touch. Why did this happen and how do I get rid of it. I have around 1400 duplicates in my library now.

I suspect in this case the problem is caused by your library and device having downloaded independent copies of the media, so that when the library connects to the device it copies over your purchases not realizing they are already in the library.
When deduping use Shift > View > Show Exact Duplicate Items as this is normally a more useful selection. You need to manually select all but one of each group to remove. Sorting the list by Date Added may make it easier to select the appropriate tracks. If you have multiple entries in iTunes connected to the same file on the hard drive then don't send to the recycle bin. Use my DeDuper script if you're not sure, don't want to do it by hand, or want to preserve ratings, play counts and playlist membership. See this thread for background and please take note of the warning to backup your library before deduping.
(If you don't see the menu bar press ALT to show it temporarily or CTRL+B to keep it displayed)

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reboot the computer
    - Try another cable and USB port
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
    -  Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • Can I sync my new iPod 5g with Spotify?

You know spotify? The annoying facebook application? Well that doubles as like a free iTunes, and it can sync iPods with "Local files" (Files in your iTunes) so its legal, obviously. But my question: I have 10.5.8 mac which doesn't support iTunes 10.7 (therefore not supporting the new iPod, something I think is bullshiitt). So instead: Could I sync the new iPod with spotify?

Thanks Jim I thought I might have to upgrade software but to be honest I was looking at investing in a new Mac in the summer but wanted a cheap fix to get my thousands of tunes that i have bought from Itunes onto my new ipod touch Ironically I have a samsung Galaxy s2 I use for work which interfaces with my mac no problem... I find it very odd apple are treating there own customers in this way making me upgrade to interface with their own products!! Which after having macs for the last 20 years i am doubting my decision to carry on with my loyalty to a brand that is doing this!!
Sorry not your problem.. thanks for the advise.

  • Help syncing my new ipod - error message - please help

Hi I am needing advice and help.
I have a full library full of songs. I had always been able to sync my old ipod with all my library songs.
I have just purchased a new ipod and tried to plug in the new ipod to load all my library songs on to my new ipod, but only a few artists are getting loaded - only artists that start with a & b is going across. I get an error message when trying to sync the songs on to my new ipod.
The message I get 'attempting to copy to disk'new ipod' failed. An unknown error occured(-69)'
I am wondering step by step and in detail how I can make sure that all my songs from the library are on my new ipod. only a few artists are transferring across.
The thing is my old ipod when syncing is fine and all songs go across! no problem at all. I still have to charge the old ipod as its still in use and it is the same ipod that of my new ipod - the 30gb video 5th generation.
It is very fustrating as I have given my partner the other ipod so they still have full songs when they plug in to sync and when I plug in to sync I only get a & b only, we both use the same computer, same model ipod, same library and my ipod doesnt sync so i dont know why?
Please please help. I really need very detailed and step by step instructions of how to sync the new ipod and make sure all the songs of my library are on my new ipod.
I look forward to hearing from all you soon. Please help! - desperate!!!

  • Syncing my New iPod - Some files do not transfer

I just upgraded from 30GB to 80GB and when I went to sync my new iPod it left out like 5 (of 2550) songs and 40 videos (of 80+). I changed to Manually manage and was able to add the files, however, I wish to keep auto sync on and don't like the idea of manually doing it. I can not see any reason why these files were left out of the sync. It is not an authorization problem as all of my videos were purchased from iTunes Store and half of them were transfered. I only have one iTunes account so it is not multiple authorizations. Can anyone help me with this?
    Custom Built   Windows XP Pro

I was thinking that this was a file type error, but when you manually transfered over media onto your iPod, everything worked fine?
Try keeping the Auto Sync feature on for a while and see if any new media it finds is automatically transfered over.
    Hope it helps!

  • Windows 8.1, iOS 8.1.3, Itunes 12.1 64 bit, constantly get 'waiting for changes to apply' when trying to sync my new ipod touch

Windows 8.1, iOS 8.1.3, Itunes 12.1 64 bit, constantly get 'waiting for changes to apply' when trying to sync my new ipod touch. Downloaded latest version f itunes, and ipod software up to date. Really frustrated I can't sync my music! Please can someone help me

Im having huge issues after updating to 12.1 on Win 8.1  x64. Choppy playback and so on.
Try this since it helps in most situtation :
Remove itunes but keep library files. Then download it again and install it.
Also most likely you will have to restore ipod touch. I restored my iPhone 5 to remove waiting for changes to apply and Error 54.
my iPad air still isnt restored (cant do it now) and it sometimes does same like iPhone waiting for changes to apply. And gives error 54 but sync DOES GET COMPLETED.
Also may sound stupid but try to use USB 2.0 Ports. Not 3.0. I have troubles when using 3.0

  • ITunes Freezes when I try to sync my new iPod Touch

I can't sync my new iPod with my iTunes library. I have posted in the iTunes forum, although my title says that I have solved the issue. It isn't, so I'm contemptlating reposting.
I bought a 64gig iPod Touch the other day to replace an old broken iPod. When I try to sync it with my main iTunes library, after a short while (5-500 songs) iTunes freezes and won't shut down. I have on a couple of occasions got a message saying the the computer can't write to the iPod, or the iPod isn't responding, or an "Unknown Error".
It seems to work fine with my laptop.
I found a page on fixing "Unknown Errors" and have tried most of the suggestions.
    I've tried:
*) Uninstalling and Reinstalling iTunes several times
*) Resetting and restoring my iPod several times
*) Updating my drivers - they are all up to date apparently
*) Stopping all unnecessary programs and services from running on start up
*) Creating a new user account and trying to sync my iPod from there. I have successfully managed to sync the iPod with a small number of songs or a film on my own account, so I need to test it with a fairly big library. I copied my main iTunes library into iTunes on the new account. The sync hasn't worked (although it is syncing the same files).
I found a post with a google search that suggested it could be a power drain on my USB port / Bus, or somet fhing like that. Not sure exactly what that means, but it sounded plausible. I have recently upgraded my graphics card.
I did also see a solution posted that suggested formatting the iPod using My Computer and the iPod icon, but I can't imagine that would do anything more than the restore iPod option in the iPod menu?
Can anyone help? Getting a bit fed up now... I've had the iPod a couple of weeks and have barely been able to use it yet.

Are you using security software on your PC? If yes, try to disable the software or check the settings. More info here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3125

  • Recently got a new iPod 4th gen; I had previously backed up to iCloud and subscribed to iTunes Match, and then wound up syncing the new iPod to my MacBook Pro; all iCloud tunes were downloaded to Mac but won't all sync to the iPod - any suggestions?

Recently got a new iPod Touch 4th gen; I had previously backed up to iCloud and subscribed to iTunes Match, and then wound up syncing the new iPod to my MacBook Pro; all iCloud tunes were downloaded to Mac but won't all sync to the iPod after multiple attempts, despite all songs showing properly on the Mac and multiple syncs occurring after all songs were properly reflected on the Mac.  I updated iTunes Match from the iTunes Store menu as well pre-sync.
I should mention that I had previously had the library on a Dell (which is still running) and shared it on my home network.  While all iTunes purchases now show in the Dell, the Mac is the device I use for all syncs.
There appears to be no rhyme or reason to the iCloud physical sync failure - some songs were legacy, some were purchased via the PC, some on the old iPod.
The Mac shows all the songs correctly and none show iCloud status -all have been downloaded, but the downloaded songs that were previously showing up as iCloud based aren't syncing to the iPod.
Is there any way to force all music being seen by my iPod as iCloud to download to so I can listen to them offline?  Is there a way to force the sync from iTunes?

The "system" performed as designed. All devices syncing to one iCloud account are kept in common sync. The idea is that all such devices belong to one user. Different users should have different iCloud accounts.  Once your contacts were edited, all devices were updated as well and subsequent backups (from yours and her device) reflected the changed contacts (and any other data that may have been edited like calendars). Your first task is to change your daughter over to a new account before she makes other changes.
The only way I see for getting back contacts is to restore them from a time machine backup, assuming you also have a Mac included in the account which syncs the contacts. However, I'm not sure whether time machine includes contacts from iCloud along with those that are local, "on my Mac".
Otherwise the deleted contacts are gone.
