HT4236 deleted photos when syncing Ipod touch

My son attempted to sync his Itouch to his macbook pro and lost all pictures.  Apple store stated "..they were gone because the ipod synced before downloading."  I cannot believe that is the answer.  In researching I see there there is some software to recover but I am unsure how to begin the process will it work? Thanks in advance for any and all advice.

For overcapacity:
- First verify that yo are not syncing more media than you think
- Next:
Connect the iPod to your computer and look at the storage used by the various categories as shown in the colored bargarph in iTunes.
Come back with the results.
An "other" larger than about 1 1/2 GB indicates corrupted files.
What is the Other on my iPhone and How to Remove It
What is "Other" and What Can I Do About It?
Next, usually restoring from backup eliminated the corrupted files. However, sometimes restoring to factory settings/new iPod is required.

How can I recover deleted photos in my ipod touch?

Well, you might still have chances to recover the deleted iPhone photos. Not from iPhone or iTunes, just from your Mac machine. It just depends on when your deletion happens, before or after your most recent sync? If this happened after that, then probably you could rely on this data recovery program to get the lost photos back. Regards.
If she backed up after the photos were sent, then try restoring from backup. Make sure that you turn off automatic syncing first before you connect. Go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and check the box that says Prevent iPod touch.

  • How to delete photos off my ipod touch 4g after updating

How do u delete photos off my ipod touch 4g after updating it to ios 6.0.1?

To delete photos and videos from your device
To delete synced photos and videos
In iTunes, select the device icon in the Devices list on the left. Click the Photos tab in the resulting window.
    Choose "Sync photos from."
On a Mac, choose iPhoto or Aperture from the pop-up menu.
On a Windows PC, choose Photoshop Album or Photoshop Elements from the pop-up menu.
Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.
    Click Apply.
To delete Camera Roll photos and videos
There are two methods to delete items from the Camera Roll:
Import the Camera Roll to your computer, choosing to delete items after import.
    or
Delete photos and videos from your device manually. Open the Photos application, open the Camera Roll, tap the Action button, tap each photo to select it, and tap the Delete button.
Note: For photos and videos you want to save for later, import them to your computer before deleting them from the Camera Roll.

  • How do I recover deleted photos from my IPod touch 4G?

I accidently deleted some photos from my IPod touch 4G, I also didn't know about back-up in Icloud so i didn't use it. I tried many softwares but they couldn't detect my deleted photos. I had Icloud on and back up switch to on before i deleted the photos i just didn't tap back up. (I wish i did) Is there a possible way to recover deleted photos from my IPod touch 4G without previous backup?!

I accidentaly deleted some photos on my iPod Touch 5 about 2 weeks ago becuase I thought I emailed to my self on gmail. When you delete pictures on computer running Microsoft Windows or on a memory card, the link to the data disappears, but the data still remains until overwritten by new files.
If you act quickly, you may be able to successfully recover deleted pictures on your computer or memory card. If you can't recover deleted pictures on your computer through the Recycle Bin, you can try restoring previously saved versions of the files. To restore deleted pictures on a memory card, however, you'll need to download a photo recovery program.
I used the iPod Photo Recovery and it will show you how to recover the photos in details. You can try the free trail first to see whether it suits your systems. As for me, it is very easy for me to use. Hope the software can rescue you from this problem too.

When syncing iPod touch to MacBook, I have selected to sync only events newer than 360 days. Yet I get message that sync will change 8000 events on "this computer"  most of which are years old and many are recurring events.  I'm afraid to proceed with sync.

Having the same problem here. As a first time mac user, Apple has certainly made a bad first impression.
For me, the issue seems to occur when transferring files between computers that are connected to the same access point (when transferring files from wired computers on the network there is no issue). My vista laptop and every laptop I have tried has worked perfectly fine with this access point so I am 100% convinced it is the mac. Basically when I copy the files, after about 100mb, I am unable to access anything on the local network or internet until I restart Airport. The weird thing is that even though I am unable to access anything, the airport utility says it is connected. I might also note that the wireless signal strength is full.
If I can't get this figured out in a few days, this computer is going back to the store where it came from and I will officially label myself anti-mac. This type of issue is just unacceptable for something so main stream.

  • IMac freezes when syncing iPod touch

My iMac freezes (spinning beach ball) when I attempt to sync iPod Touch, using iTunes 10.5.  Otherwise, iMac, iTunes, and iPod Touch work fine.
iPod Touch 3rd Gen., IOS 4.3
iMac 21", new in Dec. 2010
    Snow Leopard

    Oh another thing:
It does step 1 ok (backing up) but when it starts downloading apps (step 2) is the problem. The first few apps end up downloading but iTunes freezes like 5 times during the process... After a few apps comes the white screen and everything... Once the iPod is removed and iTunes it closed, the background comes back and everything  goes back to normal. Nothing is erased from the iPod either.
    Thought that would help.

  • "iTunes Has Stopped Working" when syncing iPod Touch

So in the last few days, I've been getting an error message when I try to sync my iPod Touch 2g with software version 3.1.2. After a few seconds, I get this error message "iTunes has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." It only happens when I plug in my iPod for syncing.
I've been up and down the message boards here looking for a solution and I can't seem to find anything that works. I've uninstalled/reinstalled quicktime, then the iTunes software, I've deleted and remade my iTunes library file... I'm just at a loss. Here's the error information windows gathered up...

  • How To Delete Photos On an Ipod Touch

Yesterday synced my photos onto my ipod through i tunes, and now i want to remove some of them. I checked the online manuals and everything, and deleting photos wasn't even mentioned! Can anyone help me?

its impossible to directly delete photos on ipod touch just the saved images. to delete photos you have to plug it in onto itunes and while syncing the ipod, mark up the specific folders and the nonselected ones will be deleted. there's were you have to maneuver the photos in the folders and create new ones if necessary. i know its unpleasant for the user but thats just the way it is.

  • Blue Screen Error when syncing ipod touch 4g 32gb with i tunes 10 on Vista

    Hi
I'm trying to sync my ipod touch 4g with my itunes 10 using a Dell XPS with Windows Vista. After the point where the songs begin to copy (around 5 mins to 30 mins into copying) a blue screen error is caused and the computer shuts down automatically. The blue screen error ID is 2057.
I have scanned for viruses and its clean, tested my hardrive and its all ok, and now been to apple and got a replacement ipod and usb, re-installed i tunes 10 BUT its still happening.
i'm not sure what to do next ..any suggestions??
BTW my computer works fine until I try syncing the ipod so it's definitely something related to it.

Just in case anybody is interested I managed to resolve the problem. Not sure if it was a just a co-incidence but after windows had auto-removed itunes 10, I plugged in the ipod and the computer recognised it as a working piece of hardware, although it actually thought it was a camera (not sure if that's normal).
Anyway I re-installed itunes10 but kept the ipod plugged into the usb all the time. When itunes had installed, i began the sync and the files copied far more quickly than in previous attempts. They are all on now and the ipod is working fine and no blue screen errors.
What probably happened is that when windows auto-fixed errors after the last crash(it didn't run an auto-fix after previous crashes), it fixed the error which was crashing itunes10 when syncing. I hope nobody else has this problem and the ipod remains ok.

  • ITunes crashes when syncing ipod touch

I'm currently having multiple problems with my daughter's iTunes/iPod Touch. Here is some general information, we have an HP running Windows XP with SP2 Media Center edition. The iPod touch is 6 month's old ($399), 16 GB and was bought with Jan soft upgrade(not sure what that means but I think it was version 2.0?).
Last night the touch was sync'ed. iTunes was on 8.01 (not exactly sure of version, think it was 8.01) All music and videos were erased from the iPod. Software on iPod kept rolling back and ended up stoping at 1.1.4. I tried to update the software on the iPod but it kept disconnecting while sync'ing. I had to stop sync'ing so I could download 1.1.5 and load the software on the iPod touch. I want to update to a newer version of iPod touch software but now since I'm on an old version iTunes wants another $10 to upgrade. So I don't know how to get on the version I think I started at 2.0?
This morning I updated iTunes to latest software 8.02. I was able to get music to load but iTunes would seem to randomly crash. I watched and noticed that any video file would crash iTunes. I went in and changed the sync options:
check - open iTunes when ipod is connected. all other options unchecked.
    on music tab:
check - sync music, all songs and play listed
unchecked - all other options (ie include music videos)
on movies, TV shows, and podcasts: unchecked all sync.
I now have all music sync'ed. I can't get any video to sync. Music video's purchased from iTunes store won't sync.
Any idea how to update software on the itouch? Any idea why the video's won't sync?

After spending 75 minutes on the phone with tech support, we found the problem was associated with the Windows XP user ID. We created a test user ID, logged on and populated iTunes with video and music. When we sync'ed the iTouch everything worked. I don't know how this problem occurred.

  • Not enough free space when syncing iPod touch?

    Hi all!
I'm having a seriously frustrating issue with my iTunes (Windows 7) when syncing with my 5th gen iPod touch:
It seems to me like it wants to sync my whole library twice, seeing as the whole thing is 26.33GB, and I'm not sure why!
    I've tried:
backing up and restoring my iPod
    deselecting 'Sync Music'
syncing it through both wired connection and Wi-Fi
Bearing in mind I really don't want to restore it completely, well, you can see why from the usage!
So if anyone has any ideas or you want me to provide more information please ask. (I desperately want to get some new albums on there!)

  • I accidentally deleted photos on my ipod touch, is their a way to get them back

    hello everyone,
i accidentally deleted photos i need, can you get them back.i havent made a back up with the photos i need, i tried alot of programs to get them back but that didn't help. i heard that when you delete photos from a portable device like ipod, the photo itself isn't deleted, just the space containing the deleted photos is now marked as free space so it is available to the system for other new files to be written there instead. Do you know where deleted phtos are stored? Can you please help me, is there a photo recovery that actuallyworks, and what is it?
Thank you all for your help

    They are gone.
    Sorry.
You should be importing pics to your computer regularly as with any digital camera.
