  • MacBook Pro won't sync with other devices

My MacBook pro won't sync with other devices in the house.  My iPad and iPhone sync OK but MacBook won't for some reason.  Can you help?

Sign into your account in iTunes - from that page you should be able to deauthorise ALL 5 authorised computers - supposedly you can do this once a year.
Thereafter any devices you no longer have will be deauthorised, and you can reauthorise those you still have or are new.

Sorry, not sure how to screenshot on my computer, but this is what is says word for word:-
The Ipad could not b synced because the computer is not longer authorised for purchased items that are on this ipad.
To authorise this computer for items purchased from the iTunes Store, choose Store>Authorise this computer.
I have done all of that but not luck.  That's when I tried deauthorising all computer which it did ok.  I then authorised my Macbook pro again, it said I had one computer now authorised.  I tried to delete apps via Itunes then sync to my iPad, but the above message keeps popping up & it wont do what I want.

  • MacBook Pro won't sync with iCloud, although iPhone and iPad are fine.

My MacBook Pro keeps telling me it can't sync with iCloud because my password may be incorrect. I keep re-entering the correct password, but this keeps on happening. iCloud seems to be working fine with iPhone and iPad.  Also, there are 2 iCloud accounts showing on my MacBook, but if I try to delete one, it seems to delete both.

Your signature says you have 10.3.x but presumably this can't be correct - could you please make sure it's correct to prevent confusion. 10.7.2 is required for iCloud - your Mac won't be able to sync with pre-Lion systems.
The fact that you have iCloud accounts showing does suggest you have Lion: are they showing in System Preferences>iCloud, or where? You can only enter one there.
Are the two different or the same? You could try deleting both and then starting the setup again from scratch.

  • MacBook Pro won't sync my iPhone

So I bought my Macbook Pro 3 weeks ago, and I finally got around to copying my music from my old IBM laptop to my MacBook last night using my USB Hard Drive, and ever since then, my USB ports have been acting up.
Last night, when I would hook up my iPhone to the computer using the first USB port, I would get an error message saying that the USB port was drawing too much power, and was shutting down. When I would plug it into the second USB port, it would cause my MacBook to spontaneously shut off, and it wouldn't turn back on until I unplugged it. When searching for a resolution to this problem, I didn't really find much useful information on it besides that fact that A. This seems to be a common issue and B. The USB ports on my MacBook are not as powerful as their PC counterparts.
So I couldn't get it working last night, but I chalked it up to the fact that maybe it was because my USB Data Cable was a bootleg third party knock off I got on eBay from China, and my Mac just didn't like it. Of course this wouldn't explain why I had no problem syncing before I used my USB Hard Drive to transfer data, but whatever. So I stopped at AT&T on my way home from work tonight, and picked up a new data cable hoping this would solve my problem.
Now using this new data cable, I no longer get the spontaneous shutdowns or too much power errors, and the Mac does recognize the existence of the iPhone, but it absolutely refuses to sync with the computer for longer than about 30 seconds. I plug it in, iTunes pops up, iPhoto pops up, and it begins to sync, but then it just stops recognizing the iPhone after about 30 seconds, and won't sync up. The MacBook obviously still recognizes the iPhone, because it continues to charge it, but it doesn't seem to be working with the software.
Does anyone have any advice on how to clear this problem up? Thanks in advance

  • ICal on macbook pro won't sync iCal events from iPhone 5

I've synced/backed up my iPhone 5 with iTunes within the past hour.
After it finished, I went onto iCal on my macbook pro and saw that it didn't have events my iPhone 5 had.
So then I went to settings and changed the iCloud settings so that it would back up iCal.
But even after that, it took too long to back up and it failed at backing it up.
So I googled how long iCloud takes to back up and realized that the more I had for it to back up, the longer it takes.
Now I'm down to 500-something mb for iCloud to back up. It's still taking a long time.
THEN I googled to see if anyone else has had any problems with syncing iCal.
There was one person who deleted iTunes 11.0.1 and downgraded to the 10 version.
Is there any way for me to sync/backup my iCal on my macbook pro with iCal events from my iPhone 5, vice versa?
(Other than downgrading, if there is one)

  • MacBook Pro won't sync with iPhone but iPhone does

Since upgrading MacBook Pro to OS X Yosemite and each of iPhone and iPad to iOS 8.1.2, whilst appointments made on iPhone and iPad appear on Calendar in MacBook Pro, those made on MacBook Pro don't appear in Calendars on my iPhone and iPad. Tried iTunes sync with cable, WiFi while connected to power, have read Forums, etc but no luck. Effectively "One way sync" only. Has any one else experienced and rectified this issue??

  • Calendar on my MacBook Pro won't sync events with my iOS devices via iCloud.

I have a MacBook Pro 13" (non-retina) running OS X Mountain Lion, and an iPad 3 and iPhone 4S running iOS 6.1.3.
I recently created some events in Calendar on my Mac, and later wanted to edit them on my iPad.
The event didn't show up on my iPad, so I tried my iPhone.
Neither worked out, and I assumed it was my Internet connection.
Later, my iOS devices still wouldn't get the events from my MacBook.
I made sure all my devices were logged into iCloud with the same account and the calendar synchronization was enabled.
    Still nothing worked!
How can I get my events to sync?

Be sure that the calendar on the mac is in the "icloud" group and not "on my mac".  Calendars "on my mac" do not sync with icloud.

  • My macbook pro won't sync up with any devices?

I plug in my devices in and receive power to them, but my computer won't recognize or sync them up. I've tried to use isync to find devices and it comes up blank. Both usb ports give power to devices, but I can't sync them up. Does anyone know how to fix this.

I can only do one sync with Windows XP before the comm ports fail and I have to reboot the computer to be able to do a sync with my Treo 650 via bluetooth. It works well but only once then the ports all shut down of something. Any suggestions would be apprectiated.

    Hi CaptDavid,
The good news... or rather the peace of mind news... is that Applecare doesn't cover software. So your coverage would have no bearing on the issue at hand. But that's besides the point. Let's try a couple of things:
1.) When you go to Me.com and login, everything works just fine and everything looks ok?
2.) Do you own an iPhone or iPod Touch? If so, can you sync to MobileMe with them? If not, do you own another computer? Even if it's a PC... can you sync with MobileMe?
3.) If you make a new user account on the computer and configure that account to sync with your MobileMe information, does that work?
4.) Have you reset Sync History via iSync? http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1497
Here are two other supporting articles:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1627
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1865
5.) You can use MobileMe's chat support, as a member, for some assistance. If they're unable to resolve your issue they'd probably then refer you into an Apple Retail Store or over the phone support with Applecare. As your coverage has recently expired, you might be subject to a $49 support agreement over the phone but you'd get a free Genius Bar appointment for the issue. Perhaps you can convince the Applecare phone agent that you just worked with Mobile Me support and they were unable to resolve your issue (if they can't and refer you to call Applecare). Heck, it's worth a shot.

  • Why does my google calendar sync perfectly to iCal on my Macbook Pro but not my iPhone 4?

The question as title is basically my problem.  Before I got my MacBook Pro I used my iPhone 4 (with iOS 5) to use the iCal app to edit my google calendar.  Events synced perfectly.  After getting my MacBook Pro things still seemed fine as well.  I was editing my calendar on iCal on my MacBook Pro, on Google's on-line Calendar App from other computers, and also on my iPhone 4 through the iCal App.  Suddently events were not syncing any longer.  I don't know what is the problem.  Things changed on iCal on the MacBook Pro still syncs to Google's online Calendar App and vise versa, but I can't do a thing with my iPhone 4 iCal.
Any suggestions?  I've tried deleting and resyncing my google account to my iPhone without any success.
    Thanks in advance.
    Barry

    Hi Matt,
I found my own solution to this problem and I think you can get it to work as well.  The thing is that you'll need to make your Google calendar your only calendar.  This means that you'll not want to have a Home or Work iCal because that stuff may not sync well with your Google calendar, but the Google Calendar data will appear within iCal on your iOS and Mac computer without any problems.
Before you do any thing I suggest, you must make sure that everything that you want on your calendar is on your on-line Google calendar.  If something is not there and you want it there, the thing you'll need to do is manually add it.  There is no work around that I have found for this.
    Next, on your computer:
    1. Go to System Preferences > iCloud
    2. Make sure that Calendars is not selected.  You don't want your computer or iOS devices to be confused with the iCal Home / Work, etc. calendars.  So let's not sync them.
    3.  Go to System Preferences > Mail, Contacts & Calendars
    4.  Delete Your Google account there
    5.  Go to System Preferences > Mail, Contacts & Calendars
    6.  Re-add your Google account
Now you should be able to go into iCal on your computer and find that your Google calendar is there.
You will need to do a similar thing with your iOS device.
    1.  Settings > iCloud > Turn off 'Calendars'
    2.  Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Delete Gmail Account
    3.  Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Re-add Gmail Account
This should make it so that you can use your Google calendar and it will be synced to your Mac computer, iOS device, and the Internet (Google's Calendar Website).
You can see that this is in a sense a workaround in that you can't sync your iCal Home/Work calendars (or other calendars) created with iCloud to Google.  I'm thinking that's the problem I ran into before.  Anyway it works for me because I only need the one calendar and others are using Google that I need easy access to.
Let me know if you run into problems and remember you need to confirm that all your data is saved on the google calendar on-line (you can check through Google's website) before doing any of the steps above.

    Hi silverk,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand the need for all of your calendars to be up to date across all of your devices and how frustrating it can be when they are not syncing as you would expect. In this situation I would suggest reading over and using the attached article for troubleshooting.
