HT4236 where are the photos saved when you sync it on iTunes

Please help me I am not sure if my photos are saved and I want to make sure before I update my Iphone so I want to know where they are saved when you sync your phone

Syncing does not save your photos, photos are imported to the pc/mac.
Follow this article it shows how to import photos for a pc & mac depending on your operating system:

    Hi DrRebar,
first of all: WELCOME TO THE DISCUSSIONS!
When you download the standalone installers from the Apple download page they are at your default download location.
If you used Software Update there are 3 options: Install, Install&Keep, Download only.
In the first case (which is also the default() the package is deleted after the installation. In both other cases the packages are kept in /Library/Packages.

  • HT201317 where are the photo's in icloud?

I am in my icloud on a pc
    signed in etc.
Where are the photo's that are supposed to be in icloud

You can't view photo stream photos on icloud.com.  They can only be viewed on an iOS device or computer that is signed into your account with photo stream enabled.  To set this up on your PC, see http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/pc.html.  Note: when you first enable photo stream on your PC you will only get photos from the last 30 days as older photos are no longer in iCloud.

  • Where are my photos saved, how to archive photos

    Hello,
currently I had imported photos from a camera to my MAC by using iPhoto import and event functionality. Now I would like to backup my photos by using rsync. But I can not find my photos as files on the disk.
    Where are my photos saved?
I am a new MAC user with some expirience in Unix qnd Linux.
    Thank you in advance
    Bernhard

    Most Simple Back Up:
Drag the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.
Slightly more complex: Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically.
Example of such apps: Chronosync - but there are many others. Search on MacUpdate or the App Store

They don't sync with iTunes. You access them from another application on your computer. For me, I use Photoshop Elements to get pictures and videos off my iPhone when it's synced. Mac users can use iPhoto to do the same thing.
Also, on the PC you can drill down into the iPhone folder structure from your Explorer window and copy/paste the videos onto your PC.

How do I change the name of my iTouch ?   The one visible when you sync the device in iTunes, same as for iPhones, etc

  • Where are my photos saved on the i cloud?

where are my photos stored on icloud or why can I not see them in icloud?

Camera roll photos are stored in your iCloud backup, but cannot be seen without restoring the entire backup to your device.  Photo stream photos can only be seen in the photo stream album on a device signed into your account with photo stream enabled.  Photos cannot be seen on icloud.com.

  • Where are the photos stored?

I'm currently storing my photos in folders in finder.
I'm editing them a lot in photshop, using them for both print and web.
I like the way Iphoto gives me a way to overerwiev the pictures.
Is there anyone that know where Iphoto stores "the originals"?
I looked into the pakage of Iphoto-library and found some pics in
"masters" but every single pic was in different folders..
    anyone?

By default, iPhoto stores the photos in the iPhoto Library in your Pictures Folder.
How they are stored there (and it's by date and time of import, btw) is of no interest as you never access them there.
The point of iPhoto is that it manages the photos. Everything you need to do with them can be done either with or via iPhoto.
So, if you want to use iPhoto and Photoshop:
You can set Photoshop (or any image editor) as an external editor in iPhoto. (Preferences -> General -> Edit Photo: Choose from the Drop Down Menu.) This way, when you double click a pic to edit in iPhoto it will open automatically in Photoshop or your Image Editor, and when you save it it's sent back to iPhoto automatically. This is the only way that edits made in another application will be displayed in iPhoto.
    As an FYI
There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:   You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Command-Click for selecting multiple pics.
(Note the above illustration is not a Finder Window. It's the dialogue you get when you go File -> Open)
You can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:
There's a similar option in Outlook and many, many other apps.  If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
If you want to access the files with iPhoto not running:
For users of 10.6 and later:  You can download a free Services component from MacOSXAutomation  which will give you access to the iPhoto Library from your Services Menu.
Using the Services Preference Pane you can even create a keyboard shortcut for it.
For Users of 10.4 and 10.5 Create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use this free utility Karelia iMedia Browser
    Other options include:
Drag and Drop: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
File -> Export: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
Show File:  a. On iPhoto 09 and earlier:  Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.    3.b.
b: On iPhoto 11 and later: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Reveal in Finder -> Original. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.

  • Where's the *.pkg go when you do Software Update??

    Hi there!
    Very interesting questions here....
When updating certain programs, specifically the Pro apps, there is a delta update that you can download from apple.com or you can just do Software Update and gets to the update that way.
My question is when you update using Software Update, and a download of a delta patch is completed and the program updates the app, there is a receipt left in /Library/Receipts, but where does the *.pkg end up? I look in /Library/Packages and can not find it. I am sure there is a secure pathname that is locked.
I would like to find these *.pkg to keep as they are smaller than the dmg's you can download from apple.com. So, just in case I need to re-install these updates I could do this just from these packages; either using Pacifist another app.
So, any advice on this matter please send to [email protected]
    Thanks in advance!

  • Where are my Photos saved in hard Disc?

    Hello
when i import photos into iPhoto, are they saved in my Mac Hard Drive? Where can i retrieve them if for example i want to copy them into a USB Key?
    thanks
    Camcail

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
Short Answer: Select the pics you want to put on the USB device and go File -> Export and export them to the device.
    Long Answer:
By default the photos are stored in the iPhoto Library in your Pictures Folder. This is a Package File, which is simply a folder that looks like a file in the Finder. This is a simple precaution because many users were inadvertently corrupting their library by browsing through it with other software or making changes in it themselves.
    Want to look inside:
Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
Standard Warning: Don't change anything in the iPhoto Library Folder via the Finder or any other application. iPhoto depends on the structure as well as the contents of this folder. Moving things, renaming things or otherwise making changes will prevent iPhoto from working and could even cause you to damage or lose your photos.
    *Accessing The Files*
There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:
*For Users of 10.5 and later*
You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Command-Click for selecting multiple pics.
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
(Note the above illustration is not a Finder Window. It's the dialogue you get when you go File -> Open)
You can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
*For users of 10.4 and later* ...
Many internet sites such as Flickr and SmugMug have plug-ins for accessing the iPhoto Library. If the site you want to use doesn’t then some, one or any of these will also work:
To upload to a site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. However, if you're using Gmail you can use iPhoto2GMail
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
*If you want to access the files with iPhoto not running*:
For users of 10.6 and later:
You can download a free Services component from MacOSXAutomation which will give you access to the iPhoto Library from your Services Menu. Using the Services Preference Pane you can even create a keyboard shortcut for it.
For Users of 10.4 and later:
