HT4245 FaceTime and iMessage fails to activate
Hi, I'm from Argentina and bought an iPhone unlocked in a NYC Apple Stores. I'm trying to activate FaceTime and iMessage and it's failing. I've already restore the iPhone from the phone and using iTunes and didn't work. Apple does NOT have support in my country. Can somebody help me?

make sure your apple id being used is a registerd apple id, idk what else the problem could be

My facetime and iMessage will not activate with my apple ID
Ever since I got the phone I can not activate facetime or iMessage on my iPhone 4S, Every time I try to activate in with my apple ID and password it says waiting for activation and when I try to sign in a message pops up and says could not sign in. Please check your network connection and try again. It has nothing to do with the network connection because no matter what wi fi I am on it says the same message. Help Please!
I found the fix for the error. Took me a few different tries but I got it to work. You have to completely reset your phone (erase all content and settings) and set it as a, "new phone". I advise you to copy all the information that you want/need onto iCloud first. After I did this my facetime and imessage worked perfectly! Hope this helps.
On a side note as well your contacts won't be erased either but save them on iCloud just in case. -
FaceTime and iMessage won't activate after update to 5.0.1

I've recently updated to iOS 5.0.1 and now iMessage and FaceTime won't activate.
It worked fine on 5.0. It says "Unable to log in. Please check your internet connection and try again"
How do I solve this?
I've tried restoring, rebooting, changing my DNS to 8.8.8.8,8.8.4.4, everything

When i try to activate facetime and imessage on my ipad it says cannot sign in. Check your network connection and try again. However everything else that needs internet works. What do i need to do?
1. Make sure software is up to date
2. Make sure FaceTime is enabled; Settings>FaceTime
3. Make sure Date and Time is correctly set; Settings>General>Date and Time>Set Automatically>On
4. Make sure Push Notification is enabled
5. Make sure phone number or email address is correct
6. Hold the Sleep and Home button down (together) until you see the Apple Logo -

Since installing 7 I cannot get facetime and imessage to activate. I have taken all the steps that have been recommended in supportbut still nothing. I get a text of characters that mean nothing everytime i try. Please can anyone help?
Thank you!Error 1604: This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, uninstalling and reinstalling USB ports, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections, device not recognized properly, computer won't recognize a FireWire or USB device). If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode, put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for error 1604.
When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while iPhone remains connected.
iPhone should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.

Not able to activate my facetime and iMessage since updating to 6.1.3
I updated my iphone just a week ago to 6.1.3 and since then i am not able to activate Facetime. Though i was not able to activate iMessage even before updating. The reason i updated the iphone was to make the iMessage work. But then, it didnt help, I would be glad if anyone had help me on this

I can't activate FaceTime and iMessage !!!?
Actually this problem has started since iOS 6 . I have an iPhone 4S and iPad mini running on iOS 6.0.2 and iPad 2 running on iOS 6.0.1
On my iPhone , I can easily activate FaceTime and iMessage without any problems , but that's using my phone number .
Whenever I tried singing in using my Apple ID , I keep getting the 'The user name and password is incorrect ' even though I'm pretty sure its correct .
Same thing goes on my iPad 2 & mini , I tried activating FaceTime and iMessage but it just keeps saying the user name and password is incorrect .
I try to fix my DNS & I've done resets all other possible solutions I might find but to no avail .
- Funny thing is that when I use a different Apple ID, it gets activated.. anybody can help on what the **** is going on !!!!?
By the way I'm from Egypt and i have a macbook pro running on OSX 10.8.2 but FaceTime & iMessage Works without problemsTry this support document http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4268 for problems with activating iMessage and Facetime.

I've tried the listed troubleshooting procedures to activate Facetime and iMessage, but no luck. Are there any other options? If it helps, I'm currently overseas and only using WiFi to connect.

Oh no! I am saddened to hear that you are having troubles with your MMS pictures. I know that this can be an important thing to be able to do. I appreciate you working with us to get this matter resolved as well. I see that you have spent time working with us, and I know that can also be frustrating. There are a few things we can check though. Are these to any specific numbers or all? A factory reset certainly should've resolved this. Everytime I press next with both the apps. It brings me back to the Sign in page.

I get this everytime i try to sign in/activate my ipod's facetime and imessage. Ive tried multiple instructions including changing my IPN. Nothing seems to work! Does anybody have a solution for me? Its becoming very frustrating.Go to WIFI Settings and tap your network, i.e. your wireless router or access point. Then it shows your IP Address, Gateway, etc... It also shows your DNS. It may normally be the same as your Gateway but it can be edited easily. Change it to 8.8.8.8 and this will likely be the best DNS you could use. That DNS server (8.8.8.8) "knows" the activation server to help your device login in order for you to activate FaceTime.

Cant activate facetime and imessage
I dont know what is wrong with my account, i can access the itunes and app store with no problems but i cant activate FaceTime and IMessage with the same account so I really need help. I think I have tried everything.
I had a similar problem setting up my son's iPod yesterday.
I found that if the iPod's time was not set to sync from Apple's time servers that i couldn't get into iMessage or FaceTime.
I would keep getting kicked back to the first account activation screen in both apps.
Don't know if that is your problem too, but it is easy enough to check in the settings date and time tab.

Are you using a supported carrier? See this list for supported carriers: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1937
FaceTime/iMessage use SMS messages sent to Apple's servers in the UK. If you are using a supported carrier and your account is properly provisioned for an iPhone, you should have no problem. If you are using an unsupported carrier, they may be blocking the international text message used for activation. -
HT204380 Cannot activate and use FaceTime and iMessage.
System will not accept correct Apple ID username and password. Cannot turn off applications and then turn them back on. Used to work fine on iOS 5.

How to "activate" FaceTime and iMessage??
My iMessage and FaceTime are both working, but it still says "Waiting for activation.." right under both the FaceTime and iMessage settings. Under the "Receive At" setting, my email address is entered in. When I press on my email address, it takes me to a page shows my Apple ID, my email address, and in gray it says "Vertifying" with my phone number also in gray. I am currently out of the country and am using wifi for my apps, iMessage, FaceTime, and checking email. Why does it still say waiting for activation even though I can use everything fine?
The verifying message is likely because you are out of the country, and using another carriers network. If it works, then I would not worry about it until you get back. Other than the message, I don't think you said there was limited functionality.

I can't open .vcs files that I get from email on iphone 5
When my husband sends me a calendar invite from his samsung galaxy 3 it comes in a .vcs file and when I click on it in the email I cannot open the file. Everything I have read states that the iphone should support this file type now. Any advice on
