HT4254 Magic trackpad requires manually pushing button to connect to Win 7 partition after restart.??

Just installed win 7 through bootcamp.Magic trackpad requires me to push side button each and every time I start windows to get it to connect and use.

Try running system restore from safe mode.If it ain't working then you may only have the option of un-installing the updates which were installed by you .
Cheers and regards,

  • HT4254 Magic Trackpad Freezing Again

    Magic Trackpad is freezing frequently again after the latest update to OSX Mavericks. Is there a cure?

    Hi davidaw,
    Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
    If your Magic Trackpad is unresponsive or behaving erratically, I recommend starting with the troubleshooting guide found on this page:
    Trackpad or Magic Trackpad is jumpy or erratic
    It lists several steps that can help isolate and resolve the behavior you're seeing.

  • Magic Trackpad stopped working, replacement won't connect

    I've been using a Magic Trackpad with no problem since it was introduced 2 months ago. Last week it stopped working. Took it to the AppleStore this morning where (as on my Mac Pro) it seemed to be announcing its name but would not pair. So they replaced it with a new one.
    However this will not pair either. Bluetooth preferences says there is a trackpad connected but not paired, even when the trackpad is switched off. I cannot delete the trackpad from the list to try again from scratch. Wireless keyboard and mouse are working fine.
    Any thoughts anyone?

    Oops, answering my own question: restarting the Mac got rid of the spurious 'connection' and the trackpad then paired OK.

  • New mac mini - magic trackpad - won't do initial pairing (hence no anything

    So I just got a Mac Mini server, and I've only had laptops in the house up until now (so no USB keyboards or mice), so I got a Magic Trackpad and the wireless keyboard. Upon booting for the first time, I get the expected image to turn on the wireless mouse to pair, so I turn on the magic trackpad and... nothing. I turn it off, I turn it back on. I turn it on and hold the power button. I turn off the MacMini and restart and try again. I do a little dance to the Bluetooth spirits, and still nothing. Anyone have any ideas aside from go out and buy a wired mouse? (Note: I cannot go to preferences, as I cannot get past this initial waiting-for-bluetooth-mouse-screen.)

    Probably, it is because the Magic Trackpad requires at least 10.6.4 (and an additional update), or 10.6.5 (out of the box): so, if the install disc is only 10.6.3 or less, maybe it won't detect the trackpad.
    You could try first with a wireless (for example, the Magic Mouse works) or wired mouse, and install the trackpad afterwards, after having updated the OS to 10.6.5.

  • After pairing in Bootcamp, magic trackpad does not work

    after pairing in Bootcamp, magic trackpad a) does not control cursor and b) does not persist after closing Bluetooth devides dialog.
    Summary of Problem:
    Magic Trackpad is found and paired, but does not control the mouse.
    When you shut the Bluetooth devices and reopen (or reboot and reopen), the device is not listed.
    Detials of problem:
    Bootcamp 3.1 (i cannot find a later one) Windows XP all updates, All Apple Software Updates (to bootcamp and mac os x) installed, Magic Trackpad driver download and installed.
    Control Panel, Bluetooth Devices, Add - it detectes the magic track pad (ie track pad blinking, click add) everytime
    - It asks about a pass code, I have tried it without a pass code and with automatically Generate Passcode; does this setting matter?
    In bluetooth devides, the track pad shows with "Auto Generated passkey" when that is the option selected
    Found new hardware comes up, Apple Wireless Trackpad, everything looks fine.
    - In Bluetooth Devices, it shows the trackpad wiht "no passkey", even when I told it to automatically generate one.
    The track pad does not control the cursor.
    Close Bluetooth Devices and reopen it, or reboot and reopen Bluetooth devices, and the track pad is gone.
    Rebooting does not change the outcome of above.
    I have gone to device manager and tried to update the two (apple & microsoft) Bluetooth drivers with the update button, it says I have the most current.
    I do not see how to tell if the Magic Trackpad driver is installed, so I tried installing it again. It does appear to be listed under HID in device manager.
    I have done a lot of googling, wasted a lot of time, if I cannot get it to work, I will return it to the apple store.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!
    bob

    Bob, cannot help directly but I am having a similar problem on my MacBook Pro with Windows 7 Pro. Pretty much the same symptoms except my trackpad is not always recognized - it seems I have to click it to get Bluetooth to see it. Windows claims to have seen it OK on one occasion and installed the drivers, asked for a reboot etc. but the TrackPad still does not respond.
    Works OK on the Mac side although it is not recognized as a separate Bluetooth trackpad which can be configured differently from the built-in. I wonder if this might be a clue?
    I have installed the patch and tried a bunch of other things. Seems like Apple has some work to do sorting out the bugs on both the Mac and Windows side with this device. Pity because its an excellent piece of kit otherwise!

  • Push Button On ALV

    I have done coding for G/L interface . This report displays an ALV at the end after performnig validations on each record uploaded from a flat file. Once all records are checked , the ALV requires a PUSH BUTTON that when triggered will post the records.
      My query is, how shud i add a push button in the ALV in the title bar.

    Hi,
    You have to copy the standard pf status to a new one.
    For this go to the ALV screen and take the menu System -> Status. (I do not access to the system now) then look for the standard pf status. Copy this to Z range and then add your new button.
    Even you can do in this method
    Create a GUI status.
    Go to GUI Status->Application toolbar.
    THen add the button by giving
    Function text
    Icon name
    Icon text
    Info. text
    Fastpath
    Then in PBO of the screen,
    Just give in a module
    set pf_status 'ZSTATUS'.
    Here is an example for your question
    TYPE-POOLS: slis.
    DATA: i_qmel LIKE qmel OCCURS 0.
    data v_repid type repid.
    SELECT * FROM qmel INTO TABLE i_qmel.
    v_repid = sy-repid.
    CALL FUNCTION 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY'
    EXPORTING
    I_CALLBACK_PROGRAM = v_repid
    I_CALLBACK_PF_STATUS_SET = 'SET_PF_STATUS'
    I_CALLBACK_USER_COMMAND = 'USER_COMMAND'
    i_structure_name = 'QMEL'
    TABLES
    t_outtab = i_qmel
    EXCEPTIONS
    program_error = 1
    OTHERS = 2.
    IF sy-subrc 0.
    MESSAGE ID SY-MSGID TYPE SY-MSGTY NUMBER SY-MSGNO
    WITH SY-MSGV1 SY-MSGV2 SY-MSGV3 SY-MSGV4.
    ENDIF.
    form set_pf_status using rt_extab type slis_t_extab.
    set pf-status 'TEST'.
    endform.
    FORM user_command USING ucomm LIKE sy-ucomm
    selfield TYPE slis_selfield.
    data lv_ucomm type sy-ucomm.
    lv_ucomm
    = sy-ucomm.
    CASE lv_ucomm.
    WHEN 'BUTTON'. "Double Click line Item
    call transaction 'MM01'.
    endcase.
    endform.
    To Click on the you have to do in the following way
    i_callback_user_command = 'USER_COMMAND'
    form user_command using i_ucomm like sy-ucomm
    is_selfield type slis_selfield.
    case i_ucomm.
    when 'XXXX'. "XXXX is the function code for new button
    endcase.
    endform.

  • HT4254 I cannot connect my magic trackpad to my macbook

    My macbook is not detecting the new magic trackpad.

    Which OS are you on?  The trackpad requires 10.6.4 or later.  If you are later versions of Snow Leopard or Lion, go to System Preferences > Trackpad > turn off the trackpad by holding the power button on the right side for 5 seconds, then tap the button once to turn on.  The green light should flash and be detected.

  • MAGIC TRACKPAD how to select text?  There is no "mouse button" to hold down

    The magic trackpad doesn't seem to have a "button" that can be held down while dragging (in order to select text etc).
    I want to select text & then paste it into an input box (for example, Search).
    Apple needs to add virtual Function Keys to the top of the MT, allowing you to turn on scripted functions related to selecting, dragging, copying, pasting etc.

    Press down on the trackpad until it clicks.
    Nope, the magic trackpad doesn't do this. That's the problem.
    Huh, how odd. Mine does. Did Apple change the Magic Trackpad since I bought mine? Or maybe yours is defective?
    The press-down-till-click is also used in either the left or right bottom corner to activate a right-click. Chosen in the trackpad preferences. Though I've gotten used to the two-finger tap for that instead.

  • My magic trackpad fell yestarday and the start button appeared blocked and now it does not work. Apple is not competent in giving a solution. Only replacement is possible paying a new one. They simply do not repair it. Anyone may help me with a solution?

    My magic trackpad fell yestarday and the switch button appeared blocked and it is not possible to make it working. I contacted Apple support and it is not competent in giving a solution. They only suggest replacement and pay a new one. They simply do not repair it. It is a very poor solution since there would be other solutions. Anyone may help me with a solution?

    Hello folks!!!. I found out a solution. I simply take the start button off with a screwdriver and now the trackpad works properly. Since it initializes automatically when the computer turns on, the magic trackpad works without the need of using the start button. The only drawback is that there is a loss of aesthetic because the trackpad has now a gap, which was occupied by the button, but it is not easy to notice. It seems to be a better solution than that given by the apple customer service, which was to pay a new one.

  • Button (or leg) came off back of my magic trackpad

    The semicircle leg came off the back of my Magic Trackpad. There are two of them so one is still on there. I have the piece but you can't exactly just jam it back in there. Anyone have a suggestion?
    Thanks!

    So, I had the same issue and I believe that I have found the solution (at least, it was the solution to my problem). I use a bluetooth keyboard and trackpad and noticed this issue when my trackpad got to about 40% life. As it turned out, when I plugged in a USB mouse and went to my bluetooth devices, I had two pointing devices listed. One was a bluetooth magic mouse that was just out of range. The other was my trackpad. The mouse was on a shelf and had something on top of it that was holding the button down. It was turned on somehow and had a battery level of about 90%. When I went and turned that unit off, my trackpad started working again without any issue. I turned it back on (where it was left) and I lost my trackpad. I then changed the batteries in my trackpad and it worked. I took out the changed batteries and put the original ones back in and, sure enough, it stopped working until I turned off the old magic mouse.
    So, it looks like if you use multiple pointing devices and have them in range, it defaults to the one with stronger signal. The reason why trackpad worked was that it had the stronger signal until the batteries started to die.

  • Magic Trackpad Stuck Button

    The power button in the magic trackpad is stuck and i can't turn on. Is there a way that i can get it out (fix it)?

    I hate to say it, but it was only a temporary fix. Things so went back to the crazy selecting everything. I read some more, cleaned the MT with Windex even, but nothing helped. It must be faulty design or buggy software. I hope it's the latter and that it's fixed soon.
    Back to using a mouse...
